Today was my granddaughter's fifth birthday and all she wanted to do was hold a snake!! I'm not a huge fan of them so I had no idea how to pull this off!!! The day was ending and we needed crickets for our Albert (leopard gecko) so we swung by LLL reptile & supply and ran into Chris. He was amazing. He let my grandbaby hold a huge super sweet snake and she's been literally floating on air (not walking lol) since we left the store. Without further ado, this reptile store persistently delivers a stellar experience. The environment is clean, well-organized, and it is evident the animals are nurtured well, given their habitable enclosures. Isaiah is habitually supportive, kind, and quite the comical lad as well. For instance, he is extremely patient when I have inquiries, offers sound guidance, and makes certain I feel confident with my purchases. Furthermore, it has been a couple of years, since I last saw him, yet he still remembers my name, which made me feel valued as a patron and not simply viewed as a ''pesky consumer,'' hah. Sustaining this momentum, one of the other employees-I believe her name is Savanah-was showcasing her nifty dragon tattoo to which Isaiah asserted it seemed as though it was a ''six-foot turkey,'' I gave it my best effort not to chuckle, not because it appeared as if the dragon was a turkey. 'twas frankly impressive inkwork, however, I smiled as Isaiah referenced Jurassic Park (1993) in which Dr. Grant was explaining raptors to a child, hah. The spirit of Laura Dern would have approved. Moreover, Savannah is equally wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to assist with anything clients need. At times, 'tis rather difficult to locate a place with such a welcoming and supportive staff. Overall, whether you are a beginner or experienced keeper, I highly recommend this store to anyone captivated by reptiles. My mom used to take my son to LLL to look at the creatures. She recently passed and while getting lunch in the area, my son asked to go because it reminds him of his "Gooka". I saw this land/sea aquarium and feel in love. I bought it a few days later and the experience couldn't be better. Everyone that works there is so friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. Wr have to go back to the stores a few times a week to get crickets. It almost feels Like you're part of a secret club or like family. It obvious they care about their creatures and always ask how my frogs are doing. Highly recommended, especially if you have kids. They're so sweet and kind with my son. read more

We came in after a terrible experience at another reptile store, frustrated, overwhelmed, and full of questions. Isaiah (the store manager) invited us in, let my son handle the animals, and patiently educated us on species, care, minerals, and diet. He even explained that the Egyptian tortoise we'd originally wanted isn't realistically available due to exotic animal shipping laws , something the previous shop never mentioned. He typed up a feeding guide, offered future support for breeding, and made us feel like family. We left with a beautiful four-year-old Hermann tortoise and actual confidence in how to care for her. This is how a reptile shop should operate. We'll be back. read more

This shop is fine for casual browsing or basic supplies, but it's not aligned with the standards I was looking for as a ball python owner who values precision, early intervention, and veterinary-first escalation. I commissioned a custom enclosure here (gorgeous build), picked up two snakes, and was actively planning to invest more -- including a second custom tank and some exotic additions. I wasn't just browsing. I came in prepared to build a long-term relationship with the business and spend accordingly. But when health issues arose with a baby ball python, things changed. I asked more than once about taking him to a vet, especially once symptoms were visibly concerning. Instead of a clear referral or even neutral support, I was met with vague in-store remedies and dismissive tone. One employee administered a "homeopathic" treatment by inserting a long glass dropper deep into the snake's throat. Within 10 minutes, my snake appeared visibly unwell. Lethargic, unresponsive, and unlike himself. It was the first time I thought, "Is he about to go?" That moment changed everything. I never got him back the way he was before. My snake declined rapidly after that. By the time I got to the vet, it was too late -- the baby had worms, throat lesions, respiratory distress, and was severely dehydrated. 5 days later, he died on my chest. This isn't about blame -- it's about standards. When dealing with young animals, especially exotics, vet escalation should be default, not taboo. The shop seems optimized for fast retail turnover, not breeder-level attention to health. That may work for some. But if you're the type of buyer who expects clinical handling, escalation logic, or even baseline medical awareness -- this isn't it. P.S. Just because someone isn't carrying a Dior bag doesn't mean they're broke. Some of us have our reptile setups funded by high-net-worth partners -- and we tip when impressed. I came in ready to spend thousands. You lost that opportunity -- not because of the snake. Because of how I was handled. read more

When we first started coming to this store we thought they were the best. We've gotten lizards from there years ago before they got new owners. They gave us what we thought was helpful information on handling the reptiles we wanted to purchase. We bought a Veiled Chameleon from this store in November, and 3 months later we were told our chameleon had organ failure. This was not their fault, but more recently we learned our chameleon wasn't even in the right cage. She needed a hybrid enclosure, and only the top of our enclosure was mesh. But then they proceeded to tell us we needed a plastic layer to keep the heat in. This was incorrect and she ended up suffering from an upper respiratory infection. She didn't have the correct airflow and that's because of the information the workers provided us. Yes we did research before buying our chameleon, but when the workers give you different information, you expect to trust the information you receive from the people you're buying your reptile from. My veiled chameleon didn't last a year. We went to Scales and Tales #2 and they told us what we should've been doing all along. The workers at LLL Reptile sold us all of the wrong products and provided us with all the wrong information. I am extremely disappointed and upset my veiled chameleon didn't get the proper nutrition and air flow she needed. We have a Desert Hairy Scorpion too. We asked about water and food everything you could think of because we've never owned a scorpion. They lacked giving us the information and now he is sick. They told us the scorpion wouldn't need any water and now he is severely dehydrated. Another time I walked in to get crickets from my reptile, I saw a dead chameleon in their cage. I understand that it is the cycle of life, but they left the chameleon in there during their prime hours of operation. It is extremely disappointing and I will never give them my business again. read more

I've gotten two of my tarantulas from this location and they're always reasonably priced and the best deal especially with the starter enclosures. Isaiah and Chris are super friendly, patient, and helpful they know more than any other reptile store about proper reptile care. They let you hold any animal. Chris helped my ball python that had a cyst on its head which the vets quoted would be 800$ to remove and he did it in 10 minutes for free. He was also able to pin point what exactly was missing from my ball python's husbandry and his skin issue. I always find the best assortment of fake plants for my reptiles here (better than anything I can find on Amazon). I always get my frozen rats here in bulk which are so much cheaper than buying individuals and last me the year. Overall, this place has easily become my go-to and I highly recommend! read more
