The moment we walked into Legacy Barber Shop we were immediately greeted by Josh and he was able to squeeze us in for a haircut- ever since then my son has built a relationship with him and is now excited to get his hair cut whereas before he never wanted to and completely refused. Josh is excellent with children, makes them feel heard and seen and engages with them in a way that should be recognized as not everyone has that ability. He listened to what my son wanted and explained how he would be able to achieve his hair goal. I will never forget how my son's face lit up when he got the look he had been asking for. But plenty of street parking on the side streets or out front (hour parking). Cool looking shop. You immediately enter into a small coffee shop. The monthly specials looked enticing. Might have to book an earlier appt next time to indulge in that. Showed up to my appt a few minutes early and was helped right away by barber Damaris. Great first experience. Never rushed and she worked methodically. The bald shave was sensational with the balms and creams. My sensitive skin didn't act up. Next was the beard trim, also a first for me since I usually trim it myself. The fade on the sideburns to rest is buttery smooth and even on both sides. Her response was a bit matter-of-fact -- not especially engaging -- but I appreciated having a clear number to plan around. Based on that, I gave my son $45 plus a 15% tip in cash to bring with him. When he went in, however, the haircut ended up being $50. Since he only had $52 with him, the tip ended up being much smaller than intended. I felt bad about that, because we always want to make sure the barber is tipped fairly -- and the cut itself was very well done. Overall, we were happy with the quality of the haircut and the skill of the barber. The only frustration was the difference between the quoted price and the in-person charge. A little more consistency and friendliness on the front end would make an already good experience truly excellent.
