    California Omelet, $25
    Calvin C.

Fredricks is a typical overpriced, San Francisco hotel breakfast. It's a good place to eat if you are travelling for business where your meal will be reimbursed, and you're in a hurry. It's a coffee shop-like counter where they serve up food. The food comes out fairly quickly. The menu is a traditional bacon and eggs, pancakes, waffles and omelets style. The food is not bad, just overpriced. This cafe is downstairs from the Clift Royal Sonesta hotel. We ate here because we had a resort credit with our hotel stay. Had we not had the credit, we probably would have eaten at the delicatessen across the street instead. If you're not in a hurry to eat breakfast at your hotel, you're probably better off going a little further and dining at one of the really great breakfast places in the City instead. Here's a tip if you're eating here and want to save money. They have a la carte options that are not on the printed menu. A platter with two eggs with toast and breakfast potatoes costs $24. But if you get the eggs separately without the toast and potatoes, it's only $6. Please note that the eggs are really small, so you might need to order more than two if you are a big eater. If we stay at the hotel again, we'll probably be back. But only if we have another resort credit.

Order at the counter. Ambiance is ok, nice comfortable feel. Had eggs Benedict and the Union Jack sandwich. The sandwich was huge. The eggs Benedict was pretty good. We also had a cold brew coffee and some grapefruit juice. The only negative might be the prices were fairly high.

Amex is really letting people down including this hotel in the hotel collection. Topped off by this singular food option with completely inedible breakfast. Even the bread is inedible. The service was terrible. There is no table service. I watched someone place new cutlery on tables that I skipped sitting at because they were visible dirty and this staff didn't even clean them. Disgusting. Unhygienic. I couldn't eat more than a bite of the omelette.

Lived in the attached hotel over the weekend. Nice little bakery plus Café nestled in the same block with the hotel entrance. Decor is chic and historic looking. Service was friendly and food was fresh and delicious. Price is way too high, but then you can't do much if you're so close to Union Square in atourist area. It is part of the Clift hotel so you can charge your stuff to the room if you're a guest.

Very disappointing... I was on vacation and my flight landed early. I chose this restaurant because it was close to my hotel. The menu was like a grab and go bakery, not a sit down restaurant. That was ok. The inside was very clean and pretty! It was attached to a hotel so a lot of the guests were down there eating as well. I got the Belgian Waffle ($20) and sausage links ($8). The price was NOT worth it..... The waffle was big but not the right texture for a Belgian waffle. Not worth $20 that's for sure. The sausage links were good but again, not worth $8. My opinion, the waffle with a side of meat should have been $20. That price seems more reasonable to me also factoring in that it was attached to a hotel.

Came here for breakfast and tried the shakshouka. People were friendly and you line up to order at the counter. Then food is brought out to you. The space is nice and bright. Food came out pretty quick and was pretty good. Flavorful, filling, eggs cooked well with a nice runny yolk. The bread/toast was crispy and buttery. The lamb was good and was ground pieces. Other orders in our group was the egg plate, breakfast sandwiches, and drinks. All looked good and good portion size as well.

I thought Fredericks was delicious! I was in town for Dreamforce and wanted to find a quick bite on the way to the conference. Fredericks was in between my hotel and Moscone Center so I popped in and was glad I did! I got a chia pudding, a muffin, and a cold brew. The chia pudding was delicious, not too sweet, and the muffin was fluffy and tasty. The coffee was good, too, but I wish I'd looked at the sizing options before ordering because I accidentally chose the smallest one. But that's on me for anticipating a Starbucks grande to be the average size served everywhere - just a heads up if you're similar in that regard. They also had a really expansive selection of pastries and breakfast sandwiches. Had I been in the city longer, I would have definitely returned to try the different pastries. Service was fast, too, which was great since we didn't have the luxury of staying long. Definitely recommend stopping in!

Service was amazing. Coffee was top notch. I love the color theme very calm and very me actually. I felt like I was at home. I'm totally ready to start my adventure. Thanks guys.#5Stars

    Avocado toast with egg

Great ambiance. Quiet and not a lot of people. I stayed at the hotel and received a complimentary $25 for breakfast. Avocado toast and 63 degree egg was pretty plain and lacked flavor. The egg was over cooked and yolk was hard. service was speedy and friendly. Despite the lackluster avo toast, I'd still return just for the ambiance.

This was the restaurant underneath our hotel so we had complimentary breakfast. Honestly, it was rather expensive for 2 people - definitely would've tried a cheaper place if this wasn't directly beneath our room. However, the food was good. We got the shakshouka and the eggs benedict; both items were yummy and the service was pretty quick - you order at the counter and then sit down so they can bring the food out to you. Very large booths so it's comfortable too.

Though the waiter encouraged a second beer a few times (so unprofessional for me at 10 am), it was all in good fun. Thai tea French toast is as advertised and delightful. Instead of syrup it comes with a Thai tea flavor glaze. Lovely arrangement of fruit as well. Toast is standard thickness for bread, cooked well. All combined, I was really pleasantly surprised. Though I love French toast, I usually feel queasy and overfull afterwards. Sugar drenched. Not here, my friend. Delicate flavor. Not overly heavy or sweet. Just right for a sophisticated palate. Drinks - more options than the food, which is really saying something. We got the pink dalgona coffee and a lychee jasmine tea. Both weren't just good but also came with fresh fruit on top. For food we got the chicken & pandan waffle combo that came with two eggs and sriracha bacon. The waffle was perfection, crispy and light while still very flavorful. The chicken had a nice thin crisp on the outside but was a little dry and flavorless on the inside. The bacon actually tasted better with the waffle than the chicken did. That was really the only flaw for this place (4/5 stars). We also got the steak benedict that comes with a curry hollandaise. This was really unique and we'd absolutely get it again. The potatoes on the side were also crispy and they give a lot of fresh fruit too!

My husband and I's favorite place to eat in the world is New Orleans so this place definitely did not disappoint. We started with coffee drinks, I had some sort of boozy espresso drink which I could have done without since the bitters tasted like licorice which is probably a taste preference. My husband had the grandma coffee which was also fine. Then the food came out and it went up from here! The catfish & grits just might be the best I've ever had. My husband also really enjoyed his banana foster French toast, & i loved that they allowed you to get one piece of fried chicken because i had to try it out despite a full meal. The wing I had was Nice & crunchy with a delicious sweet sauce on the side that reminded me of mambo sauce ( a DC staple.) My husband also had the gumbo which was good but I wouldn't say our favorite. I prefer my gumbo with a little more spice but that could just be personal preference. We ended the meal with beignets: I had the ube beignet which was so unique & flavorful! I don't think I would have had a chance to try that type of beignet anywhere else so glad to try something different, it was delicious. The crawfish beignet was also so flavorful! The beignets in general were much more bready than typical beignets but still very good & unique to this place. On top of that, the service was great & the food came out quick, hot & fresh! I wish we had more time (& stomach space) to try other items on the menu, everywhere we looked everything looked delicious so we'll just have to try more the next time we're back in SF!
