An oil filter that had very clearly NOT been changed (despite claims by Fred's that it had).

Caveat Emptor! In late August 2025, my wife purchased a 2017 Hyundai Azera from Fred's Executive Auto. I was not able to inspect the car because I away on a business trip, but my wife assured me that the car--which had body damage, poor paint, and some required maintenance--would be taken care of by the dealership prior to purchase. In hindsight, we never should have trusted the car, nor the dealership, for multiple reasons. -- The problems began when the body work took longer than expected; the car's delivery took several days longer than expected. I give grace to the dealership because they outsourced the bumper repair. -- When I first took a look at the car the evening my wife picked it up, I noticed immediate concerns: several lug nuts were missing from multiple tires, the "low tire pressure" light was on, the car had very clearly NOT been detailed despite promises to the contrary, and we were not able to gain access to the glove compartment because the key provided by Fred's was not the original. All of these small details add up, and point to a general lack of pride in the produce they are delivering. -- The next morning when I had better light, I took a closer look under the hood, I immediately saw more worrying issues. The air filter in the car was incredibly dark and dirt-covered...it had clearly not been changed in months or years. I can't say that the dealership misled us on this, but what an easy addition to be able to add on to the (supposed) oil change that they said was completed. -- Here's the major problem: when I checked the dipstick, the oil was BLACK. Like, "diesel truck" black. Now, Fred's had paperwork that showed that a shop had changed the oil and filter, but I was immediately doubtful. I pulled the oil filter, and it was IMMEDIATELY clear that not only was the filter not new, but it probably hadn't been changed in tens of thousands of mile, if ever (see picture). I have NEVER seen a filter in such condition, and a reputable repair shop that I trust immediately indicated that the oil probably had never been changed in the car. The shop strongly encouraged me to pursue returning the car and/or legal action because the long-term viability of an engine as poorly treated as this was dubious at best. We have since changed the oil multiple times in an effort to try and triage the damage done, but obviously no one knows what kind of time bomb Fred's Executive Auto may have sold my wife. -- When I reached out to the salesperson who sold my wife the car and explained the issue (including pictures and videos of the oil filter issue), I was only offered the reimbursement for the new oil and filter. Multiple calls and emails to the dealership were either dismissed, passed to different voicemail boxes, or ignored in the case of emails sent to multiple addresses from the dealership website or the few individuals who actually responded to my calls. -- Finally, the dealership did not divulge that the car would not be registered for the full year we paid for because it had not yet passed an emissions inspection. When I asked someone from the dealership why they didn't take care of it before giving us the car, the individual said they were not obligated to. Fortunately, the car passed the inspection (which we had to pay for), and the DMV subsequently sent us the registration. In summary: I fully believe that the dealership cuts multiple corners on auction-purchased cars to make as many quick sales as possible. I don't fault them for pursuing a profit, but in this case they sold an inferior product to someone who didn't know any better. On that front, I would STRONGLY discourage anyone who cannot closely examine a car for telltale problems such as this one--especially women like my wife, who very much felt taken advantage of in the aftermath of the sale--so they can avoid our experience.

My experience was amazing. They helped me find a car within my price range and was able to purchase car same day. Manager was amazing and extremely helpful and I'm very satisfied with my experience here. I definitely recommend!

    Advertised mileage vs Carfax.

I did not purchase a vehicle here, so please discount my review appropriately. I drove to this dealership (about two hours round-trip) to look at a car that was advertised as having less than 40k miles on it. The sales person I discussed it with before coming said the car only had one owner and no damage reported. When I arrived and requested the Carfax, it showed that the vehicle had two owners, had been in an accident, and had about 20k more miles on it than advertised. The sales rep was apologetic and said she would bring this issue up to the "CEO so we can improve our services". I checked and the listing is still advertised with the incorrect mileage, now days later. Bottom Line: Don't make a trip out to this dealership unless you've already seen the Carfax, as what is listed may not match what is advertised.

I contacted them on a Sunday, and they got back to me even though it was their day off. I got an appointment with them the next day. Upon arrival, everyone was extremely kind and helpful. Specifically, Maggie showed high professionalism and incredible customer service. She showed me the car I wanted - a 2020 Honda Civic - and let me take a test drive. The car was in amazing condition. I wanted the car, so we negotiated the price. She was easy to work with, so we struck a deal. Taking care of the paperwork was surprisingly easy as well, because their chief purchaser, Tony, squared away my tags. When it was time to leave, I found the detailer, Breezy, already had it ready for me. Overall, I've never had a better car purchasing experience, and I can't stress their customer service enough. 12/10, Highly recommended.

While their online attendants were quick (and numerous) to respond, I had requested a detailed sales agreement showing the applicable discounts and a final price. Since their advertised price contains many discounts which I did not qualify for and since the online attendant didn't realize that they offer free nationwide shipping, I wanted a finalized price before we drove the two hours to see the vehicle. Unfortunately, multiple contacts with "Jasmin", including several that were supposedly escalated, were not responded to by the sales staff. This being the case, we are not going to pursue purchasing a vehicle from them. Others have also indicated absent Customer Service responses. I communicated directly with a representative named "Jessica/Clarence," who confirmed in writing that the vehicle's current price was $29,444. I specifically asked about price discrepancies between listings, and I was reassured that $29,444 was the correct and current price. I also clearly stated that I would be traveling over 4 hours from North Carolina to view and test drive the vehicle. At no point was I informed of any conditions tied to the advertised price, such as residency requirements, financing requirements, military/veteran status, or other qualifications. Based on these representations, I made the 4+ hour trip to the dealership. Upon arrival, I was informed by a different salesperson that the actual price of the vehicle was approximately $38,000--over $8,000 higher than what had been quoted and confirmed prior to my visit. When I questioned this discrepancy, I was told that the advertised price only applied under certain conditions (Virginia residency, veteran status, or other criteria), none of which were disclosed to me beforehand. This information was only revealed after I had already made the significant trip to the dealership. Additionally, after refusing the inflated price, I was encouraged to consider other vehicles, which further suggests a bait-and-switch sales tactic. I believe this constitutes a deceptive and misleading business practice, as I was induced to travel a significant distance based on a price that the dealership had no intention of honoring under the circumstances.
