Turnovers are quick as the local guests mean business when it comes to chowing down some seafood. Both wifey and I ordered the fish and shrimp and were impressed. Not sure if it was a bad batch, but I will see how the fries taste on my next visit?! The new location is a little smaller than the previous location, it's a lot brighter which I do like a lot. Menu prices haven't changed much, still excellent quality at a value reasonable prices. Restaurant staff still friendly and courteous, strive for good customer service. My sister raves about the Ceviche here, so I definitely need to try it soon and also explore more of the various selections on the menu. She was very courteous and frequently checked on us. We ordered the admiral's platter to share and asked for no bacon on the bacon wrapped shrimp because it was lent and Friday. Sadly my husband still had to peel off the bacon. The soup was excellent as were the sides. The oysters were my personal favorite. My husband devoured his shrimp. The fish was a little dry and needed seasoning but the tartar sauce was creamy and helped a lot. I'm chalking it up to being the Lenten crowd.

Entering into the building, the walls and ceiling were black, making the atmosphere sad. There was also a small bar to the left of the dining area. But the kicker for me was, our two meals, two beverages, and two desserts cost $61!!! As many Soul Food Restaurant I have eaten in with my daughter for two people, I have never been charged so much for two soulfood meals with two beverages and two desserts. The shrimp and catfish in the po' boys were deep-fried with a classic cornmeal breading. It was pretty standard, but satisfying. One unexpected and cool touch is that they serve beer... and soju. I've never seen soju at a seafood/Cajun/crab boil spot before, so that was a fun surprise and a nice change from the usual drink options.
