He asked where, and, since I was driving, I told him to find somewhere close to the house. He found King's Bowl and went ahead and ordered, since it said on Doordash that they would stop taking orders in ten minutes. Fortunately, I had already told him I was planning on combination lo mein and eggrolls. Anyway, he called to tell me he had ordered from King's Bowl, and I got really excited. Many years ago, on the way home from my knee surgery, my wife went through the drive through and got me an order of combination lo mein. I loved it and always remembered how good it was. Why didn't I ever go back? Too many other options closer to home. Well, let me tell you... This was still the fantastic lo mein I remembered. The meats are really nice. They take the time to velvet their chicken, which a lot of places don't seem to do anymore. Plus, either the beef or the pork was nicely barbecued. The sauce has that little something extra spice-wise that I liked tasting in a lot of food when I lived in Taiwan. I think it is star anise or maybe a five-spice blend. Whatever it is, it gave the sauce on the lo mein subtle boost to awesomeness. In the future, this will be my go to restaurant for Lo Mein. I liked the way they packed everything nicely and securely for delivery. I am new to the Door Dash game, but man I am liking it.

They appeared severely understaffed, with one cashier, one person packing orders, and one employee assisting the cook. I understand being busy, but why take phone orders and provide a pickup time if the food will not be started until the customer arrives? From the time I called, the total wait was over an hour. The food is genuinely good, but the phone-order and pickup process needs to be fixed. Customers should be told upfront if orders will not be started until arrival.
