$23 All You Can Eat Buffet Best bites on my plate: Fried Chicken, Southern Beans, Green beans, Ribs, Honey Biscuits They were all so flavorful! I would get them one hundred times over and be satisfied evey time. On the other hand, the Bleh bits were: Black eyed peas, mash potatoes. I had a lot of hope, but some things are just better at home. Rashaad took care of us and was great! We felt like we were in our cousins dinning room serving up Sunday plates.

Nice southern charm in the atmosphere and people. Awesome down home Southern soul food. I will return here.

Head to Freds for the best southern food buffet around (also the only I know of) that is made fresh. They have a rotating dinner buffet menu for only $23 per person that includes a salad bar and dessert bar for before and after your many entrees. The service was friendly and great, our drinks were never empty and many napkins provided. The ambiance is that of a southern home and also super clean buffet and restrooms. They also provide gloves so you don't get the buffet utensils greasy! All in all loved my experience at Freds!

Stumbled upon this place after seeing a commercial on television never realizing it was there. Southern comfort food disguised as an all you can eat buffet. Nicely laid out and the server was great informing us of the cost and tracking our plates. The buffet has lots to offer but it's a narrow passage full of people eyeing and trying to fill their plates. We only focused on the "hot" entrees so I can't speak of the salad bar or dessert so maybe another trip is in order. It's noisy at times and try to sit away from the buffet area just for some peace of mind.

Went on Saturday evening they were busy but wait wasn't long at all. Lots of Soul food options.

Definitely one of the best all you can buffets I have been to. There was a large variety of southern food and I appreciated the complete salad bar also. The corn casserole was delicious and so was the fried chicken. For the price, it is a great deal for the amount and quality of food you get to eat. I will say that it is always packed so be prepared to wait.

Ribs, fish, collard green, Mac n cheese and hush puppies.

Fred's Market, if you want some southern cooking, go here. It's buffet style, you can get salad or anything from the buffet. The staff will tell you where to get the buffet to go containers. If you decide eat there, usually there is a wait. The music is usually playing and it's very casual there. I got all hot food and a salad. It took about 2 days to eat everything. Go check it out.

Love me a good southern buffet. I visit one of these locations everytime I head up to this area. We stopped at the riverview location. It was more modernized than the Lakeland location. I love their signs desserts is stressed spelled backwards. Brilliant. Their breakfast brunch only $13.49 and quickly changes to $22.99 dinner at 11:15 so make sure to leave prior. Dessert only served at dinner time. Best brownie and vanilla ice cream to finish the meal. I enjoyed the fried chicken and catfish. The breading was flaky and not too oily. The cinnamon rolls were amazing as are their biscuits. Live this restaurant and wish they would come back to Orlando. Server was nice and drinks were refilled quickly.

Fried chicken, apples, eggs, cheese grits, chicken gravy, tomato gravy. Don't judge (lol).

Normally I'm not a buffet person but this is an exception. Yummy breakfast buffet! Southern food heaven. Traditional breakfast foods and fried chicken. Biscuits and two kinds of gravy, and so much more. Everything is really fresh and the food turns over quickly. Great beverage service by the staff as well. It's loud but that's ok. Always a treat. Come hungry. Leave stuffed.

Menu. Great options.

Still the best buffet I've ever been to. Sunday afternoon had about a 15 minute wait. Our server Steven was really nice and took plates away instantly. All the food was absolutely fantastic, none of it seem like it was made for a buffet. All the hot stuff was piping, hot, and fresh. All the cold stuff was chilled perfectly. Can't really list any favorites because there was 12 things that I could say was the best I've ever had (fried chicken, turkey stew, skillet cornbread, sweet potato casserole, corn casserole, Italian cream cake - just to name a few) I tried about every hot item but 5, hit up several of the cold salad bar items, and then tried six desserts. It was bustling in there w/ smiles everywhere. Floors were surprisingly clean. Plates stocked too. Can't wait to come back on next trip.

Anytime we have guest in town, we have to go to Fred's. We did today and they did not disappoint. Excellent service and southern food. Super clean for a buffet. Can't show you my plate as you'd judge me, lol. My favorites are the turkey and gravy over rice, pulled pork, fish and those amazing rolls. And don't forget the strawberry shortcake. A must try.

The absolute BEST Southern buffet I have been to in my entire life! It's big, super clean, hot & fresh, and flavorfully DELICIOUS! The servers are friendly too! Breakfast buffet is sooo good too. Seriously worth whatever the wait to get in, just go already!

5 Stars - Southern Comfort at Its Best Here's the tea: I've moved away, but every time I make my way back to area, Fred's Restaurant is a must! With a cozy Southern home ambiance, it serves up true Southern hospitality and flavor. The fried chicken and catfish are cooked to perfection, the homemade cornbread is delicious, and the fried green tomatoes? Absolutely standout! My sweet tea stayed full, and Denise made me feel right at home with her warm and friendly service. If you're craving classic Southern comfort food, this is the place. I'll definitely be returning!

For the most part their food is good, but the price is just a little too pricey for me for the food they serve.

What time does breakfast end?

Is there an allergen menu available? I have a soy intolerance.

No. You can ask but it's a buffet.

Is this authentic southern food?

Yes, as far as the Tampa area is concerned it's as authentic as it's gonna get for a restaurant. They have staple southern dishes like collard greens, fried fish and grits, cabbage, northern beans, smothered pork chops, etc. It's very homestyle… Read more

Lol) They definitely came through for me today! Very friendly Johnny and his restaurant have earned 5 stars for the delicious food, the low prices, the excellent service, & the convenience of this location (inside a Texaco). Approximately two years ago this soul food eatery was opened in honor of the family's Mississippi matriarch, Miss Edna. She is 85 years old, and has always cooked with love. She was #7 of thirteen children. You'll find her photo on the wall behind the counter. Breakfast is available from 6 AM - 11 AM Monday thru Friday. (I've heard it's excellent.) Weekday lunch is from 11 AM - 2 PM. Salads, sandwiches, & burgers are offered. The menu is posted on a whiteboard on the wall. Saturday hours are 7 AM -11 AM for breakfast & 11 AM - 2 PM for lunch. (*All hours are temporary due to Coronavirus fears*) Each day the LUNCH BUFFET changes. Today I had my choice of barbecue chicken or roasted pork, along w/ sides. To avoid carbs, I ordered a double heaping of cabbage to accompany my chicken legs. My food was delicious! I did see mac & cheese, rice, gravy, & a few other buffet offerings. I was a tad disappointed that there were no greens available, but they're offered on other days. That gives me an excuse to return:) This is definitely a locally owned business that is worthy of patronage. The business's Facebook page reads, Miss Edna "taught us how to love, respect, be kind, generous, and have faith in the Lord. We take pride in giving the world a taste of her love." We both got the chicken dinner with different sides. He had the Mac and cheese and I had mashed potatoes since they were out of candied yams. We also both had yellow rice and collard greens. We also shared honey cornbread and hush puppies. Everything was VERY good!! There were a few downsides. We came on a Sunday evening and most of the food was sold out. The women who took our order said Sundays are also busy so we notated that for next time. The wait time is very long since the staff is limited. That day it looked like there were 2 or 3 people working. Lastly, I ordered a lemon poundcake and when I got home, it wasn't in the bag. I was pretty upset.
