Five stars isn't enough for this business! I limped into Big Stone Gap a few weeks ago to attend a…read morefuneral reception in the afternoon for an old friend. My rotors were scraping and making loud crunching noises as I nursed my vehicle into the Comfort Inn late Friday evening. I thought that the chances of getting my car fixed in a small town on Saturday morning were slim. Boy was I wrong! The nice counter person at the Comfort Inn (great room by the way) recommended Double D Tire and Towing. I called them at 8 am Saturday morning and they said "bring it right in". One of their servicemen, James, diagnosed the problem right away and I asked him if they'd be able to repair it that morning. He said it shouldn't take long. I stepped out of the garage to call my girlfriend and by the time I got off the phone, less than half an hour, they had me off the rack and ready to roll. I went in to pay the bill expecting the worst. I've been in situations before where I was from out of town with car problems and they know they've got you over the barrel as far as price. Well not here. The cost for fixing my car was incredibly reasonable and probably less expensive than if I'd fixed it at home with someone I know. I drove away from Big Stone Gap with a warm feeling about the town and its hospitality and a deep sense of gratitude for a repair service that took care of me in a big way! Thank you Double D Tire and Towing!

Yesterday the car finally came in and the decided that $15,000.00 was not enough and now they want an additional $60,000.00 or they will sell the car to someone else. Traded in my truck on a fuel efficient car to make the 140 mile a day commute to school. I talked…read moreto someone multiple times and explained I was on an educational leave from Walmart and my only income was my stipend from the school. I was assured by multiple people that the stipend was more than enough income. It was a horrible experience from start to finish. During the test drive the check engine light came on, I was told it was because the car was running when they put gas in it. Even after we caught the fact that they were only giving 2/3 of the payoff of my trade in, we still signed for the car on Saturday because it is what we needed while I was in school. On the way home, the check engine light came on again, Advance a auto read the codes, and it was nothing to do with the gas cap, it was 2 faulty engine parts. I called them and they set an appointment for the following Thursday. Above 55mph, the car shook so bad it made my radar detector fall off the windshield. We took it to get the wheels balanced and oil changed ($100). Walmart found the rim was bent due to hitting something. It needed to be replaced. I drove the car to school on Monday and Tuesday. On my way to school on WWednesday (day 3), I stopped to get gas. After pumping my gas, the car would not start. When the key was turned, it did nothing. Even jumper cables wouldn't get it started. 7am and and almost an hour away from home, I had to find a ride to school and get the car towed home. Called the dealership and it took until 5pm to talk to someone about the problem. Even after all of this, we were still very understanding. We just wanted to be able to drive the car that we had purchased 4 days prior. At this point we were told that our financing had fallen through. We were told everything was good on Saturday when we signed the papers. But, now they were telling us to try to get the car started to drive it back. The next 3 days we were given the run around. "We will call you back", "my manager is on the phone", "my manager has been with a customer all day" (at 3pm), "we are waiting to here from the bank", just to name a few. Three days of a broke down car in the driveway, three days of not having my truck, three days of having to use our one other vehicle for my school, my fiancé, and 3 kids. Three days of excuses. Then today, at around 6pm, wrecker showed up with my truck and picked up the car. We were told there was nothing they could do. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! Over $100 down the drain, with nothing to show for it. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
