I know these are rough times, but there still has to be a basic level of customer service if people want to stay in business. I called freedom powersports a week ago in the morning and asked if they were still doing service, and if they could service my motorcycle. The guy on the phone says sure come on down we're open all day. So I rode 40 minutes there and when I arrived they said that they were no longer doing service because of the Coronavirus. But there was no compensation, there was speaking to a manager to see if there was anything else that could be done, or anyone else in town that could help me, basically move your bike cuz it's in the way. So ultimately just sorry you had to drive 40 minutes but we're not going to service your bike, unless you want to leave it with us until the coronavirus is over, which was an ignorant suggestion. read more

Took my Polaris 800 RZR to freedom Powersports service department and had them replace the wheel bearings at a cost of around $1200. Parked the RZR for some time after and when I recently retired started to use the RZR again and noticed the left front wheel had a bad wobble. Pulled the tire and discovered that the wrong bearings were pressed into the spindle. The early Rzr's had a different inner diameter bearing on the front hubs. Called Freedom Powersports service department and they said they wouldn't do anything about it cause it had been too long even though no hours or miles had been put on the vehicle. Freedom Powersports made a mistake which happens and that's okay but they wouldn't own up to it and fix it so keep that in mind before you buy or service your side by sides, or other it's at Freedom Powersports McKinney. Harmony our salesperson was 5 star, we already knew what we wanted but she shared so much more knowledge about the boat and features. Found us one that fit our needs as well as in our budget. When we picked up the boat we were introduced to parts staff and service department staff, they were also friendly and knowledgeable. We love our new boat and the dealership. Bought a 2019 Suzuki TU250X here back in September 2022. All nice and formal on the surface but I had to ignore a lot of little aggravations during the process. I was coming from out of town and wanted to make sure everything on the the bike was in order, that the oil was changed and considering the low miles, the manufacturer recommended first service was done including valve adjustments. I was assured it was all taken care of. All lies/misstatements/false assurances. Only thing they were firm on was price. I agreed to pay the relatively higher asking price which, by the way, was the price of it when brand new in 2019, because I really wanted this motorcycle. Even at the time I was taking possession, the service department guy, upon my specifically asking if the valves were adjusted, said yes. Something was telling me he's lying, walk away. I didn't. A few days after putting on a few hundred more miles, I contacted the local dealership for service including valve adjustments. Their estimate of cost was much higher than expected. They suggested I double check with the dealership I bought the bike from to be sure that the first service was done including valve adjustments. If that was done than all that the bike needed was an oil change and the cost would be much less. So I called them, and the nice man at the other end put me on hold to come back and tell me for sure that not only the valves were not adjusted, even the oil was not changed. Nothing was done to the bike. It was delivered to me in the exact same condition that they had received it (from the Kansas dealership as part of a consignment. I know because I had been pursuing to get this bike from the moment it appeared on the RideNow Kansas City dealership website.) So I called the Sales Manager. He introduced himself as Greg. Sounded very courteous and concerned, and willing to help. Promised to do something about it, somehow make it up to me for the lapse. No word yet. That's not the first false promise, I know from experience. And therefore this rant. My first ever online "review" of anything. Beware all. This place has a few liars. I am ready to upgrade but will not make another purchase at any dealership that is part of the Freedom Powersports chain. Update 2/24/2023 Day after I wrote above review, Eddie called. Assured me this is not who they are and words to the effect that complete customer satisfaction is what they aim for, etc. Offered to make things right by picking up the tab for the first service at the local dealership. I took up his offer. Local dealership agreed to work with Eddie's proposed arrangement. And the matter was taken care of. Thank you, Eddie. read more

The service department is out of control. My Razor was in the shop for 6 weeks before I called and they said there was nothing wrong with it. I happened to know what the problem was so I called BS and they called back the next day and sure enough it was the drive shaft. They promised to have it done within the week. I call a week later and still not done. Two weeks nothing. Three weeks nothing. Finally I call and it just happens to be done but nobody called me to let me know. Poor communication and lack of mgmt in the service department. read more

This is the worst place to buy from if you are of color. I went to buy a Ryker and was treated like I was bothering them. This is at all locations. I was pre-approved on a loan and they never responded. I then went in and was treated rudely as though I was not important than the White couple that walked in behind me. It is sad but all their dealers are horrible, rude, and I might say racist to a degree. Must be nice to turn down approved sales. I am not the only one who has said this. Last their service departments do not know anything or act as if they don't to certain customers. Very bad treatment to someone that is well connected. read more

Traveling through Texas on our 2018 Roadmaster Elite on vacation and had balancing issues with front tire. Felt like riding a rototiller down the highway! Already had another Indian shop refuse to help and this shop was no different! Said they could possibly do it the next day, guess they don't understand TRAVELING. Very disgusted on the way Indian shops take care of riders that are traveling. This could have been an easy fix and my wife and I could of been back on the road safely. Guess I should have spent my money with Harley, at least their shops DO take care of travelers. read more

I had to take my SeaDoo in a few weeks ago. When I called I was told it was a 3 week wait (peak summer) to get my ski looked at. I was advised that it "might" be checked a little sooner but no promises. I was impressed when I was called by Keith a week prior to his original estimate to go over the issues and get it fixed. It was done that same day...a week before I was originally told it would be looked at. Some might say no big deal, he just told me 3 weeks knowing for sure it would be before that. Maybe, but maybe not. Sometimes good customer service happens. Sometimes a good customer experience is all about expectations being setup, up front. Whatever it was, thank you Keith for exceeding my expectations. Although I didn't buy my SeaDoos from there, I will continue to use them for parts and service needs. I have been to the McKinney location the most and recently; and have had nothing but great service at both locations. In spite of the fact that I did not buy my new Victory at a Freedom Powersports dealership; I was treated as though I had. This was a welcomed surprise, as with auto dealers this is not the case. Went to look at a trade in and the salesman Matt was overly cocky. The ATV we were told was a trade in from a well known customer. Frame and cage were bent when I pointed it out they knew that it had problems. Was priced at blue book price and was rusted damaged junk. Not at all like they portray in the ad. They put it on the lot to get you in try to sell you an overpriced new unit. Check into other dealerships folks you'll get a much better deal. read more

Came here to test ride an Indian. Waited 15 minutes and no one even offered to help. Finally asked for assistance and they were less than knowledgeable. Almost flippant in their answers. My friend and I both asked to test ride a Chieftain. He rode a classic. Mine had a dead battery. The other also had a dead battery. Was gonna take a while to charge so I didn't ride. They didn't seem to care much. Sales girl said no body much test rides so they don't keep them charged. No one wants to buy a $25K bike. I'm like why the f... I bought a 7 year old dirt bike. It looked like it was in really great shape. I watched a staff person from Freedom ride it around and they told me it had been through their thorough inspections and is good to go. 5 hours of riding later, the engine has issues. I take it to the local shop there is 0 oil in it. I asked that Freedom at least help absorb some labor or parts and they would not work with me at all. Do not use these guys, there are a lot more places to buy in DFW. read more

I did NOT expect to come home with a new bike! I did NOT expect to AFFORD a new bike! All I knew is that I have a friend that rides an Indian Chief Vintage and I wanted a bike just like his. His bike had style and comfort. My bike was an industrial-looking Harley. A well-performing Harley, but even with the best seat I could buy and two gel pads over that best seat, I just did not have long-range comfort. My friend, on his Indian, was totally comfortable on a recent long ride we took. To co-opt a line from 'When Harry Met Sally', "I want what he's having". But I was sure it would have to be a used bike for me to afford it. Well, thanks to the patience of Mark Martinez as I went on about how I couldn't afford a new bike and blah blah blah, and Jay Dwire working the numbers for best trade value plus every incentive he could find, and finance guru Teresa Lynch for finding the best possible interest rate, the deal was made possible for me and I went home on the most beautiful Indian Chief Vintage. They sell victory motorcycles out of the shop but know one there knows a damn thing about them. I ordered parts there many times and it takes them forever to get them as well as they might be the wrong ones. I bought a 2012 Ranger EV and got it home and it squeaked bad. I didn't not notice it when at the dealer due to 75 being right there. I noticed it also had a broken shock on a BRAND NEW UNIT. Family PowerSports told me they would have to order a new one 2-3 weeks. I told them that is BS the unit is brand new and to take one off a different unit. After Getting the GM involved they did. After 3 days Family PowerSports said the squeak was fixed. After getting home it still squeaked back to Family PowerSports I went. They said they would check it out after the unit sat in the service dept. for 3 weeks I got a call from the GM saying it still squeaks and always will cause it has moving parts. That's total BS because none of my other vehicles squeak. I took it to a dealer who treats customers like real people Four Wheels of Texas in Ft Worth. When I arrived at the dealer they came out and shook and said the squeak is not normal at all. After only days they called and said it's fixed. The squeak was due to NO grease in any of the bushings and said the unit should have never been sold in that condition. Bottom line Family Powersports don't stand behind what they sell and is VERY poorly run!! read more
