As always, Reyna did the most amazing tattoo for me -- it's everything! Thank you, I absolutely love it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Freedom Tattoo is hands down the most welcoming, professional, and fun shop around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I always look forward to coming here, and I'm never disappointed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I highly recommend everyone at this shop -- they're all incredibly talented and nice to work with. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe here makes my day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Can't wait for my next visit![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I'm disappointed. I went to a fundraiser event and asked for just line work of a pin-up girl. The majority of the line work is great but the most important features are really missing the mark. Her hair doesn't look like it flows, I'm really unhappy with her hand and her expression looks very different, almost like she's bored.

Was out to lunch with a friend when we suddenly decided that we wanted to get our cartilage pierced. We decided we didn't trust anyone at the mall to do it so we called around and Freedom Tattoo was taking walk-ins. Got there 10 minutes later right as the piercing guy was pulling up. Somewhat limited selection of jewelry (lots of sharp and pointy things, not out style) but managed to find the last two studs with diamonds for us. The guy who did it- his name slips my mind now- was super kind and helpful with the jewelry selection and piercing process and wore a mask the whole time, changed gloves for each of us, and sanitized the table and jewelry well. A little more expensive than at the mall but it's worth it to know a trained professional in a sanitary environment is doing it. Thanks!

I've gone here for several tattoos. All of them were amazing and helped me get just what i wanted. Anthony was absolutely amazing, especially with the detailed line work. Definitely will be going back here for my next tattoos.

If I could recommend anyone in Santa Cruz County, it would be anyone from this shop without a doubt.

Dropped in for a walk in appt and was greeted with a smile. The process was easy and fairly quick…read more I signed documents/ waivers and the person helping me talked me through the sterilization process. Once I got into the room my piercer was friendly and very thorough. My previous piercing was not even on both sides and he took the time to show me several placements for my second hole to create the look I wanted. He walked me through some breathing exercises to preform to help decrease the pain. Before my visit I checked out the website which included the cost of the piercing ($80) for a second hole. Additionally, the website mentioned walk ins are welcome from Thursday - Sunday. My only complain about this shop was the lack of transparency on cost. Personally, I'm someone who prefers everything to be clearly listed black and white so I can review the information and make informed decisions without feeling pressured. At this shop, you need to ask about the price of each individual piece, which can be a little uncomfortable. I asked for quotes on a few jewelry options, and when I made my selection, I was told the jewelry would cost $30 but it ended up being $28 per piece, which came out to $56 for both ears. There was also a $36 charge for two titanium threadless labret posts (the backing, I believe), which I hadn't anticipated. On top of that, I was charged $10 for saline spray for aftercare, something that wasn't mentioned beforehand. In my head, I was estimating around $150 total, factoring in the $80 listed for the piercing and some variable jewelry cost. So walking out with a $211 bill was a bit of a surprise. I really wish the full breakdown, especially the add ons, was made more transparent either online or displayed clearly in the shop to avoid that kind of sticker shock. With that said, I'm very happy with my piercing and the overall experience. The staff was professional and kind, and the shop was clean and clearly run with care. I plan on coming back for future piercings and recommend it to others.

Still the best. I went last month to get my navel done, but alas, my navel was deemed un-do-able…read more I really appreciate the fact that Karissa and her crew are professional enough to give you an honest answer about your anatomy, rather than lie about it to take your money even if they know it will not work. This is why you should ALWAYS go to licensed and APP professionals. So we talked over the rest of my list of wants, and came down to the last one I had a good anatomy for. So I ended up getting my septum done!! I was not super prepared (pro-tip, trim the nose hairs before you do this one or your pics of it freshly done will be scary) and I hadn't really thought about jewelry options for it. Karissa took her time with me and helped me pick out a pretty little captured bead that I was pretty sure I could live with while it healed. (I have the jewelry attention span of a ...oh looook a shiny new piece of jewelry....) As always, she was professional and explained the steps to me, and warned me what to expect during the first few weeks of healing. I am very happy with it, it's healing nicely, and I cannot wait to go, in September, and have the captured bead ring switched out for something else, once it's all the way healed. Thank you for another successful hole in my head, Karrisa!

But as I wrote this 7 months out, I have to say I am incredibly disappointed by the jewelry. I was told the jewelry was high quality, and if it breaks I just need to bring it in to get fixed. The problem is, what happens when it breaks and I don't have it? I got 4 ear piercings in November and as of today, 3 of those 4 have fallen out and gotten lost. The first was in February, the second in May and the third one today. And these aren't cheap earrings. I spent nearly $1,500 for these and to have them disappear after normal wear is incredibly disheartening. Would I go back, I don't know. Maybe. But I have to believe there is a place with just as nice people and less expensive jewelry that doesn't just fall out of the ear during the healing process.

Cruz understood exactly what I wanted and the more I look at my new ink, the more I like it. I appreciate the fact that every inch of wall is covered in artwork and awards. Even the flash tattoos are unique and well-designed, which is nice. I didn't notice any women artists when I was there. Maybe it was just the day. If not, definitely consider seeking women artists. Women elevate the atmosphere, making it more welcoming, and safe-feeling. Women add legitimacy to an artistic space because art is creation and women are creators. I sort of assume women work here and I just didn't see any, but if not, it might be worth considering. Y'all deserve the aura boost. Treat yourself. Also, there was an apprentice who initially helped me. Please for the love of humanity tell him to do something about the muskrat on his lip because it is doing him 0 favors, and throwing his vibe all the way off. Thank you so much for the work. I look forward to booking another appointment if I feel fanciful. I was recommending this spot to my friends immediately upon leaving and will continue to do so.
