I was really disappointed with my experience. The food had almost no flavor, and it wasn't even served very hot. The salad looked old, like it had been sitting for a while. The cucumbers weren't fresh. I was also surprised that the meal didn't come with a salad, and you have to pay extra if you want one. On top of that, the customer service was lacking. The server never came back to check on the table or ask how the food was, which made the experience even worse. Overall, this was my first and definitely my last visit. We went there as a group of 10 people. The food was very tasteless, from the qabili all the way to the kabobs. This branch is not even close to the Fremont location in terms of quality or flavor. It was surprising that items like curry or chapli kabob did not come with naan, which is pretty standard. Overall, the food felt poorly prepared and lacked authenticity. We were driving past this restaurant when my daughter yelled out "that sign says Fremont Kabob" and I immediately shifted gears and turned around. I hadn't been to the Fremont Kabob restaurants in a really long time, and I was surprised to see that there's a place with this name in Mountain House. Could it be the same mom n pop restaurant from our hometown? With my mouth watering in anticipation, we ordered a variety of Kabobs, rice, Bolani, and excitedly took it all home to the rest of the family. The food was as good as, if not better, than I remembered it to be. My husband kept saying how tender the meat was in between bites and humming in pleasure as he chewed. We were all very satisfied and delighted at the authentic flavors and high quality of the wonderful Afghan cuisine. The restaurant is immaculately clean and well kept and the service was genuinely friendly. It's nice to see a long standing business (although this is a new location) that maintains their consistency in both their product and their service as this kind of reliability is what sets them apart. I appreciated how forthcoming she was with reminding me of the differences in the different dishes with patience and kindness as we were ordering. We had a 5 star experience. read more

Food was good but the service was bad! We ordered 3 appetizers, 4 entrees including combination kabob and yogurts drinks. Food took time 30-40 mins to come. The female server was insisting to order more. She said I am not ordering enough food!!! Seriously! Like who are you to decide that! The second mantoo order came at almost the end of the dinner. We stopped here for a chance to-go, but the in-house seating arrangement and ambience , with low seating was so enticing that we promised to come back soon for a dine-in meal. We ordered our usual favorites Bolani Kachaloo , Chicken and beef Shami Kabobs and BORANI BADINJON, which was a fantastic dish of Grilled eggplants seasoned with garlic and tomatoes and topped with homemade yogurt. Food is aaaamazing. Chicken kabob with Kabuli Palau and potato bolani are my go to order and it never disappoints. The chicken is always tender and full of flavor, it's never dry. Everything is so full of flavor! The portions are enough for my husband and I to share. We always order to go and they are always quick and on time with our order. This is my second time ordering to go. I ordered the Chapli plate. I thought it was a fluke the first time that they gave me a very small amount of garbanzo bean salad. This time, it's an even smaller amount. It's very disappointing considering their food is delicious and on the pricier side. I hope they serve more than 10 garbanzos in the future. read more

It was our first time coming here since they opened. We came on a Friday around 2:30 so we definitely beat the lunch crowd since we practically were the only two people dining in. Some were there to pick up orders. The restaurant is super clean, from the linens, to the plates, utensils, and even the condiments on the table. We ordered the bolani potato for appetizers which was such a hefty size! It was really good, well seasoned, and perfectly crispy and brown on the outside. For the kebabs, my husband and I both got the combination kabobs. I got the shami chicken (which is ground chicken) and chapli (which is a take on a ground beef patty). My husband got the beef kabob and shami ground beef kabob. We both got the regular white basmati rice but you can opt for a brown one if preferred. The kabobs are well seasoned and grilled to perfection. It's nicely charred on the outside , with the smoky flavor, and juicy on the inside and tender. The portions are huge so you can share with someone. We also ordered a side of yogurt with cucumber. Overall, Fremont Kabob is a great addition to restaurants here in MH. We used to go to Tracy for Mazaa but now that they've closed, we found a great replacement close to home. We will definitely come back again. read more

I opted for the chicken kabob with brown rice, my wife had the Chapli kabob with brown rice. Both dishes were very good, spiced nicely and cooked perfectly. Service was fast.
