We were driving past this restaurant when my daughter yelled out "that sign says Fremont Kabob" and I immediately shifted gears and turned around. I hadn't been to the Fremont Kabob restaurants in a really long time, and I was surprised to see that there's a place with this name in Mountain House. Could it be the same mom n pop restaurant from our hometown? With my mouth watering in anticipation, we ordered a variety of Kabobs, rice, Bolani, and excitedly took it all home to the rest of the family. The food was as good as, if not better, than I remembered it to be. My husband kept saying how tender the meat was in between bites and humming in pleasure as he chewed. We were all very satisfied and delighted at the authentic flavors and high quality of the wonderful Afghan cuisine. The restaurant is immaculately clean and well kept and the service was genuinely friendly. It's nice to see a long standing business (although this is a new location) that maintains their consistency in both their product and their service as this kind of reliability is what sets them apart. I appreciated how forthcoming she was with reminding me of the differences in the different dishes with patience and kindness as we were ordering. We had a 5 star experience.

We stopped here for a chance to-go, but the in-house seating arrangement and ambience , with low seating was so enticing that we promised to come back soon for a dine-in meal. We ordered our usual favorites Bolani Kachaloo , Chicken and beef Shami Kabobs and BORANI BADINJON, which was a fantastic dish of Grilled eggplants seasoned with garlic and tomatoes and topped with homemade yogurt. All of the items were made exactly to the taste and flavors we now come to expect from the Afghan restaurants in Fremont CA and we're happy to experience same in Mountain House CA, as well. Service was very friendly and extremely courteous. We cannot wait to return for the dine-in experience!!

Food is aaaamazing. Chicken kabob with Kabuli Palau and potato bolani are my go to order and it never disappoints. The chicken is always tender and full of flavor, it's never dry. Everything is so full of flavor! The portions are enough for my husband and I to share. We always order to go and they are always quick and on time with our order. We will dine in soon because they have such a cute seating area with pillows that I simply adore. The staff is always extremely kind. I'm so happy to have Fremont kebab in Mountain House.

Passing by and noticed that it was their grand opening today. Glad we stopped to have lunch. Our order was made to perfection. The chicken kabob was very juicy and not dry. Was pleasantly surprised how good everything was. I hope the service and food stays this way. The ambiance is very clean and trendy. They have floor seating where you can sit on the floor with cushions.

The menu has many interesting choices of lamb, chicken and beef. We had the triple kabob and the rice & salsa was very delicious. We make this trip north monthly & this place is worthy. We dill return

The bad is it took a whiiiiiiiiile to get our food hence the 4 stars. It was the first day and hope it gets better. Now the good, everything we ordered was above expectations. Chopan kabob mmm, bolani potatoe and pumpkin mmm, chicken moist and mmm, and eggplant mmmmmm. So overall the food was mmmmm except the long wait fr food. Definitely worth the wait!!!

This is my second time ordering to go. I ordered the Chapli plate. I thought it was a fluke the first time that they gave me a very small amount of garbanzo bean salad. This time, it's an even smaller amount. It's very disappointing considering their food is delicious and on the pricier side. I hope they serve more than 10 garbanzos in the future.

I can't wait, mouth watering already!

Flavor was all over the place -- a couple pieces had no salt at all, while others were way too salty. And the spicyness wasnt(aka chilli flakes) in the potato mixture wasnt spread well either. I got the triple kabob plate and the rice portion was surprisingly small compared to other Afghan spots. Chicken kabobs were inconsistent: some pieces were super salty, others were fine. The beef was tender, but not every bite had the same flavor. Chicken was tender though, cut well. Could have been flavored a bit more Plates overall felt smaller than what I'm used to at similar restaurants. Also worth mentioning -- they serve alcohol here, so if you're strict about halal, that might be a consideration. Since a place selling wine- not sure how strict they are on sourcing halal meat (hand slaughter for example). Also very pricey location compared to others maybe since they serve wine they catering to folks that drink who may spend more without caring All in all, not terrible, but definitely inconsistent and portion sizes could be better. Worth mentioning that all these de afghanans are not same - they have diff owners etc. Not bad seating, was empty for a sunday lunch at noon .
