We were looking for kebabs when we ended up here at falafel flair, however, we ended up ordering their bacon cheeseburgers, instead of kebabs, and oh boy are we glad that we did! The storefront isn't much to squawk about, but it's clean, well lit, and there's a couple of TV screens that you could watch while you're enjoying your food. As we looked at the menu, we discovered that in addition to kebabs and other exotic offerings, they had burgers and it really peaked our interest. If you love a good burger you'll enjoy what they have to offer. I do not know what they are using to season their patties as it was so unique from what I've eaten before, but the burger patty was moist and perfectly cooked, very tender and juicy as well. In each bite there seemed to be a symphony of flavors that I couldn't really name, but that had me wanting more after I finished it. It was the most exotic tasting burger I've ever had, yet at the same time, it had all of the fixings of a traditional burger. We found it to be an absolute delight. While the restaurant appeared to be unstaffed when we entered and nobody came out to serve us until we were just about to turn around and walk out, we observed that the young man who came out had gloves on and he was probably in the back doing some sort of food prep, so the delay was reasonable. In addition to the typical falafel, kebab/shawarma plates and wraps, they have pizza and burgers as well. ***AMBIANCE: Though they have a few tables in the small restaurant, they are mostly built for take out orders. Lot of artificial foliage covered walls and a small rattan couple seat along with a few small tables and chairs make up the ambiance. ***FOOD: We got a chicken wrap, chicken platter and a few crispy chicken sandwiches. Prices are typical of the post Covid era. The platter came with some pita bread, rice, hummus, small salad and chicken. The chicken was sufficiently moist and flavored through. Most places tend to dry out chicken shawarma but not this place. The hummus was topped with some real olive oil as well. The salad was fresh and had some pickled veggies which provided a nice tart kick. Rice was cooked through and separate. Crispy chicken sandwich came with crispy chicken, slice of American single, mayo, tomato slices, lettuce. So nothing out of the ordinary. Chicken wrap came with the same chicken as the platter. I took my dad with me here on our lifetime search for the best and most authentic falafel. The falafel was decent, but the search goes on for the best. I was disappointed in the pictures of the good, not matching what we actually got. I uploaded the menu pictures and what we actually got so people can compare for themselves. Both the onion rings and calamari look like we got half of what we were supposed to, according to the pictures. And the calamari being priced at $13.99, I would expect at least twice as much as we got. My Dad said he liked the calamari, I thought it was too spongy. I wouldn't order again for myself. The onion rings we both thought we crispy and good, just not as much as we expected from the picture on the menu. The mango lassi was ok again, not something I would order again, and I love everything mango. At $23.99 for the kabob combo, I expect more than 6 pieces of meat. 3 pieces of chicken and 3 pieces of lamb. The picture on the menu showed at least 6 pieces of each. I truly feel for 6 pieces that Kabob combo is greatly overpriced. On top of it being overpriced, the lamb meat was extremely tough and difficult to chew and very gamey tasting. I eat lamb, but I prefer it to be more tender and less gamey tasting. The plates came with a side salad, hummus, 2 triangle pieces of pita bread and rice. All of which was decent. This place had 5 star reviews, so I was super excited to try them thinking I was in for a 5-star experience. I have to keep it real and give my honest opinion. We were blown away by the food here! My husband and I were visiting my in-laws and we will definitely be eating here again at our next visit. The owner was very gracious and attentive throughout our time here. We ordered The Greek Salad with Chicken and both devoured our entire plate. The flavor of the chicken was delicious. First off let me say, we needed some good baklava. We just had the worst baklava at a previous place we went to. We saw reviews for baklava from here and it sounded like the remedy for our sadness, let me tell you, it was. The baklava here at Falafel Flare is crisp on top, with a softer but still firm moist honey flavor at the bottom. It has the pistachios and is just the right amount of sweet. It's a lovely bite of baklava we wanted so badly. You will enjoy your treat if you stop here. Also, the staff was wonderful, so kind when we said why we had rolled into their place for just baklava. When the nights get colder, sometimes you just crave a hearty meal. Thankfully, Falafel Flame was able to fulfill that need. This is a mom and pop shop tucked in a corner of a plaza that houses a variety of other small businesses. As it is a shared lot, parking was easy enough. Upon walking in, the restaurant was small, but cozy. Despite this, it seems they've built a reputable place because a good amount of people came and went, whether it was to pick up food or to dine in. We ordered a veggie burger, gyro plate, curly fries, dolma, and two bottled waters. The food came out within 10 minutes and our server/cashier was so nice and hospitable. He made sure to check up on us multiple times and gave us napkins and utensils. Hilariously, he also gave us chlorox wipes for our phones because he noticed us trying to clean the dust off of them, lol! I actually dug into the dolma and curly fries first, because I'm an avid fries girly and also enjoyed how the dolma was presented. My friend said her previous experience eating dolma left her with a mixed impression, but she liked these ones. The fries had a nice crunch to them and were so, so addicting! The burger was delicious, too. The server explained that the sauce that was served with my burger was a unique "cocktail" that had a spicy kick to it. Although I infrequently eat burgers, I always like to deck it out in toppings like onions, pickles, lettuce, etc. when I do. This burger met my expectations, and the sauce the server gave me definitely gave it an extra kick. When you check in on Yelp, you get a coupon for 1 baklava. We went up to claim it, and the server gave us not one but TWO baklava, so we could both try it (My friend isn't a yelper). Talk about amazing generosity and hospitality! Same w/the hummus...I remember it tasted great but this time it tasted very bland too, and it was pale in color. It just didn't taste like hummus this time. The white and red sauces were delicious and didn't seem to change :) The falafels, good size and nice golden color but I think the flavor inside was different. Sam provided a catered and delivered dinner for 25 to our hotel (this group included many super hungry teenagers who had participated in a nearby tournament that day). Sam provided hummus, pita, rice, falafel, shawarma, gyro, Greek salad and delicious sauces. The team and family members went up for 2nd and even 3rd helpings! There were many compliments on the food.
