    Here for a to go!

We stopped here for a chance to-go, but the in-house seating arrangement and ambience , with low seating was so enticing that we promised to come back soon for a dine-in meal. We ordered our usual favorites Bolani Kachaloo , Chicken and beef Shami Kabobs and BORANI BADINJON, which was a fantastic dish of Grilled eggplants seasoned with garlic and tomatoes and topped with homemade yogurt. All of the items were made exactly to the taste and flavors we now come to expect from the Afghan restaurants in Fremont CA and we're happy to experience same in Mountain House CA, as well. Service was very friendly and extremely courteous. We cannot wait to return for the dine-in experience!!

Food is aaaamazing. Chicken kabob with Kabuli Palau and potato bolani are my go to order and it never disappoints. The chicken is always tender and full of flavor, it's never dry. Everything is so full of flavor! The portions are enough for my husband and I to share. We always order to go and they are always quick and on time with our order. We will dine in soon because they have such a cute seating area with pillows that I simply adore. The staff is always extremely kind. I'm so happy to have Fremont kebab in Mountain House.

Passing by and noticed that it was their grand opening today. Glad we stopped to have lunch. Our order was made to perfection. The chicken kabob was very juicy and not dry. Was pleasantly surprised how good everything was. I hope the service and food stays this way. The ambiance is very clean and trendy. They have floor seating where you can sit on the floor with cushions.

The menu has many interesting choices of lamb, chicken and beef. We had the triple kabob and the rice & salsa was very delicious. We make this trip north monthly & this place is worthy. We dill return

The bad is it took a whiiiiiiiiile to get our food hence the 4 stars. It was the first day and hope it gets better. Now the good, everything we ordered was above expectations. Chopan kabob mmm, bolani potatoe and pumpkin mmm, chicken moist and mmm, and eggplant mmmmmm. So overall the food was mmmmm except the long wait fr food. Definitely worth the wait!!!

This is my second time ordering to go. I ordered the Chapli plate. I thought it was a fluke the first time that they gave me a very small amount of garbanzo bean salad. This time, it's an even smaller amount. It's very disappointing considering their food is delicious and on the pricier side. I hope they serve more than 10 garbanzos in the future.

I can't wait, mouth watering already!

Great food, for the kebab lovers…read more I like the combo shish plate. Their meats are so good. It's nicely charred and still tender. The beef and chicken were both excellent. Great flavors. I enjoyed both. With it comes a lot of things- the pita was soft and fluffy. It paired nicely with the creamy and garlicy hummus. So smooth. Like butter. The salad had a nice burst of acidity to it and was very refreshing to eat. Good seasoning/dressing. There was also a yogurt sauce on the side which was delicious. Tangy. The rice was fluffy and soft. It was so much food! Great deal imo.

Looks like it took over the old Harry's Hofbrau space except they turned that massive space into 2 units now, as the days of massive dining halls are starting to become a rarity. Order at a counter and food gets brought to your table. There's a full bar (which I thought was strange for this type of food) but this is also Livermore where it still tends to have a stronger drinking culture than most other suburban towns. Most of the seating is in their 'outdoor' patio which is pretty well enclosed with one of those catering tents. Babaghanoush ($8/2.5*) Looked great with warm pita and an olive oil drizzle on top. Texture was spot on creamy and soft but they overloaded this usually delicate dip/mezze with enough raw garlic to kill a horse. Now I usually love garlic but this was to the point where you couldn't taste anything else so main ingredient which is roasted eggplant, you couldn't even tell what it was. And your mouth was tingling with that harsh garlic taste for minutes after chewing it down. Instead of wasting it, I packed it home and used it like Toum to spread onto other things. I've actually had Toums less potent than this. Adana Kabob ($19/4.5*) This a ground lamb kabob Turkish style. Similar to a Lule, Koobideh, Shami kabobs from other cultures. Turkish has pretty bold spicing but not as strong as Afghan or Pakistani. And definitely more assertive than Persian or Armenian. So kind of in the middle of the spectrum. I loved the texture and the flavor, just maybe a tad ambitious on the charring. Now that char did add an awesome grill flavor but a couple degrees more than burnt qualities may then be perceived. Combo Beef/Lamb Kabob $20/4*) For combos you can actually pick from several kabobs. They use smaller chunks like half inch cubes small. It is very natural tasting, no heavy marinades or spicing. Tasted like just salt to me so you can really taste the protein. But very well done but not really dry. I just prefer larger chunks like at least 1 inch cubes, so the meat stays juicy and succulent. Afghan and Persian kabobs usually have bigger pieces on those skewers. And these plates have a side of salted plain rice (not basmati) a green salad, some pita and a nice dollop of hummus which was top notch. Decent food, efficient service is going to make them a solid option for me in this town. Iskender, lamb shanks still in the zone for me to try.

The storefront isn't much to squawk about, but it's clean, well lit, and there's a couple of TV screens that you could watch while you're enjoying your food. As we looked at the menu, we discovered that in addition to kebabs and other exotic offerings, they had burgers and it really peaked our interest. If you love a good burger you'll enjoy what they have to offer. I do not know what they are using to season their patties as it was so unique from what I've eaten before, but the burger patty was moist and perfectly cooked, very tender and juicy as well. In each bite there seemed to be a symphony of flavors that I couldn't really name, but that had me wanting more after I finished it. It was the most exotic tasting burger I've ever had, yet at the same time, it had all of the fixings of a traditional burger. We found it to be an absolute delight. While the restaurant appeared to be unstaffed when we entered and nobody came out to serve us until we were just about to turn around and walk out, we observed that the young man who came out had gloves on and he was probably in the back doing some sort of food prep, so the delay was reasonable. He swiftly and politely greeted us upon sight, and answered our questions about the menu. I appreciated his hospitable demeanor and the food was amazing! I'm going back for kabobs and I want to try their colorful desserts. So glad to have found them.

It's a huge plate of food and he always brings home half. I tried their vegetable plate today for the first time. I thought the flavoring of the different dips were just okay. The eggplant dip was too sour. In order to make everything work, I highly suggest you save the red sweet pepper dip and mix it with everything else. I enjoyed the two falafels because they were hot, very light and crispy. The dolmas were sour. Overall, I felt like I was eating a lot of baby food. It's difficult to take home dip so I just ate it all which is a lot of food. I enjoyed the chickpea salad. It was one of the three items that was not a dip. The dips went well with their pita. When you order two entrees, you get a good amount of pita. They always serve complimentary black tea with your meals which is comforting to have. This restaurant is always clean and the music relaxing and not overwhelming.
