Dr. Meier reccomended a deep cleaning or a root plaining. I agreed to have the treatment done. After the treatment the irritation was gone. I felt really good about this office. Note that there were no cavities detected. Upon my return a few months later for a routine cleaning, I was treated by a dental hygienist that was real rough on me. In fact she scraped my teeth so hard that I knew something was wrong. I've had many routine cleanings done in my life and non have been this painful. At the very endof the treatment she seemed to fumble her cleaning tool the wrong way and I screamed in pain. They did an Xray and it now appears that I have a cavity exactly where she fumbled her tool. As I had stated before, I walked in feeling fine, and walked out in serious pain that hasn't subsided but has only intensified ever since. Additionally not only do I have pain in the affected area, but I have gained pain in my lower jaw where I've never experienced pain before in my life. And this pain began after my last visit with the dental hygienist at this office. To add insult to injury, after I made my complaint about my pain, this office had the audacity to send me a "Dear John" letter firing me as a patient and refusing to rectify the issue. Also note: This office follows their patients on Instagram publicy which seems a bit intrusive. I don't want my Dentist knowing about my personal life, opinions, friends, religious and or political beliefs etc, because this knowledge can negatively affect the Doctor/Patient relationship and the quality of care received.

The office is super clean, pleasant and all the staff, including the front desk staff are super nice, friendly, respectful and kind. Dr Hahn and the team provide exceptional care and are super gentle, thoughtful during all the procedures, cleaning, x-rays and exams. I also am paying a one time yearly fee for the services provided which I believe is very reasonable since my insurance did not cover this office and other PPO Dentists. I believe that it is an exceptional value and highly recommend this team any dental needs.

When we moved to Ventura two years ago, I had to find all new doctors. Now I'm loyal. Like really…read moreloyal. The hardest to leave was our family dentist of 35 years. It's no secret that nobody loves going to the dentist. I guess there are those icky few. I was so worried about finding another dentist equal to our old beloved one that I ended up doing nothing. We've all been there, right? Luckily, someone I trust told me about Dr. Namikas. She even used the words, "You'll love him." When I called to schedule for a cleaning, Kelly in the front office was simply lovely. She was just a lovely when we met in person for my cleaning. Still, I was nervous. Remember that old commercial about being a dental chicken? Upon meeting Dr. Namikas, I felt better, definitely less chicken-y. His kind and gentle demeanor even melted my staunch protest regarding a new set of of X-rays. Now, I have good reason. Two, actually. I've had a sizeable amount of radiation. And I'm a notorious gagger. Dr. Namikas was chill with my requests, and only took the most necessary. (Tip: Breathing in/out through your nose helps calm the gag reflex.) I floated to another room to meet Jean, my dental hygienist. Jean, who has spoiled me for all time. It'd been awhile since my last cleaning. Amazingly, Jean was able to chip off all that built-up tartar with none of that awful achiness afterward. I feel as though she should win an award. If you want a tartar-emancipated smile like mine, go see Dr. Namikas and his plaque-kicking staff. Just give Kelly the secret password, "boss of floss" and she'll hook you right up.

Cleanings can be challenging for me. And if I need a procedure, like a filling, I'm always amazed at the utter lack of pain. I've been able to forego Novocaine for some fillings. I always receive a kind and gentle approach. Thank you folks so much! My husband and I get regular checkups and cleanings, twice a year, and sometimes additional procedures. My husband routinely dozes off during his cleanings. My fillings have lasted perfectly. I don't recall ever requiring a replacement. I recently had a pressing appointment and the staff helped me get out of the chair early, in time to make it. Kind personnel; expert dental care; modern equipment and techniques; clean, careful hygiene. I really appreciate this place.

They recently upgraded their Pano to a 3D CT and when I asked the doctor about anticipated storage requirements for the 3D he told me the expected number of 3D scans was going to be much lower than I expected. and I said "You're not going to scan everyone?" he said "Hell, no!" "CT scans product more radiation than simple x-rays and we don't want to expose our patients to any more radiation than absolutely necessary." I didn't consider that, but it opened up my eyes to the thoughtfulness that the Doctors pay attention to when treating their patients. These aren't the things people talk about or look for in reviews so I thought people should know.

For context: I have avoided the dentist for years (regrettably and stupidly) and decided to finally come in to get an exam, to which they made me aware of the many cavities I had. The estimated services as well as my first examination, were definitely pricy, even with insurance. After the initial consultation, it made sense to me to hold off to try and save up for all the work I needed done. Once I eventually came in, Dr. Kane proceeded to interrogate me on why I did not schedule an appointment sooner, basically telling me I need to get my finances in order to get the work I needed done (which all makes total sense!). I explained that I am only working part-time at the moment since I am also going to school, so saving up takes a little longer than it would if I was only working--Dr. Kane was not satisfied with this response and continued to pry + lecture me. Although his intent seemed good, the delivery felt invasive. I did not appreciate him prying into my financial status, then proceeding to lecture me on finances/getting dental work done and then telling me I need to get my parents involved to help me pay; he even had the front desk give me a HIPAA form for my parents to sign and offered to call them personally. I understand the intention with wanting to help but Dr. Kane made me feel ashamed for taking a few months to get the funds needed for very expensive dental work. I am uncomfortable with making my parents fork over money for my self-inflicted issues, yet Dr. Kane was very insistent on getting them involved. I liked the practice up until this point. I don't deserve nor appreciate being shamed for not having an extra couple thousand dollars on hand! Additionally (and unrelated the previous experience), the front office has the tendency to call upwards of 5 times, with voicemails and texts to follow in one day just to confirm an appointment. I think a single call, with a single voicemail would suffice.
