My wife and I stopped here for dinner tonight, it's been about 3 years since we've been here and this was our third visit. I like the place and the ambiance is great. Let's talk about the food. We ordered escargot for appetizer and it was tasty. This had a tomato type sauce but I prefer garlic and butter escargot. Still pretty good. I ordered the short rib. The short rib was fine, but it reminded me of the type of meal my mom would make out of the crock pot, not worth $50. Also, I would say that it lacked in flavor. My wife ordered truffle gnocchi. The gnocchi is very good and filling! I would recommend this dish. So, I grade the food 3 out of 5 stars. The value isn't there for me, but still good food. Let's talk about the cocktails and drink menu. I ordered a spicy margarita and their take on an old fashioned. These drinks were again a 3 out of 5 stars. The price is steep for what you are getting. I took issue with the lack of good spirits available. All right, I'll wrap it up. Let's talk about why I decided to do a review. The service. The service stank tonight guys! Our waitress disappeared for long periods of time and we were just sitting there awkwardly. Here's the kicker, my wife was given a broken cocktail glass and she noticed something crunchy in her mouth. She actually ate a price of glass! We showed the waitress right away and she said sorry and got my wife a new drink. That was all. I appreciate the apology, but my wife just ate glass!!! No free drink or visit from the manager. Basically it was treated as if nothing happened. So, I don't hate the place, but the whole eating glass incident left a bad taste in our mouths and our third visit will probably be our last. We spent over $200 on our meals tonight and didn't get the service nor the quality of food to match the price. read more

I like the Creperie because you feel like you've left Aspen by just walking down the stairs into a very cool French hip spot. Unfortunately I had to give it 3 stars (maybe 2 and a half?). I'll start with the PROS: all started good, the place is great and super cozy with all the decor. The traditional cheese fondue was amazing. We ordered for 2 and were 4 and it had a lot of cheese and was delicious. The fondue had the right temperature. Then we ordered the steak a la plancha for 2 and it came with a lot of beef and a good amount of (only) 3 different sauces. All great and yummy. THE CONS: CHEESE FONDUE / STEAK A LA PLANCHA: When the server took out from the table the base of the steak a la plancha, she DID NOT turn the fire off FIRST! The base slipped a little from her hands (inclined a bit since it was not firm in the server's hands or maybe it was heavy for her but luckily without falling). It's so dangerous!!! One of the 3 fire containers could have fallen to the table. They MUST turn off the fire before taking it out of the table. It was unsafe. The "plancha" was SUPER HOT and the server took it out in BETWEEEN the 2 people in front of me. They had to move their bodies and heads to the sides to avoid touching that plancha. It was a very tense moment. I went to many great fondue restaurants and this never happened. - DESSERT: not good. We had a very bad experience. We ordered the fondue au chocolate. When it came, the table of fruits and marshmallows etc came very well decorated but the chocolate came COLD! Not even warm a little. I tried one piece and I have to also add that the taste of the chocolate was awful (but maybe because it wasn't warm). We respectfully asked to warm up the chocolate since it was cold. The SECOND TIME it came, it was cold again! As if they didn't warm it up at all. So we asked again if they could please warm it up since it was supposed to be warm. The THIRD TIME the server said: "now it is hot" and then she added something like it's bubbling because the chocolate was in a superbubbly state which MUST NEVER HAPPEN!! It means it was OVERHEATED. And of course because of this, the cocoa butter looked separated from the solids! I was so frustrated with the situation that I couldn't think about taking a picture. We were all extremely disappointed and frustrated. This wasn't a "1 dollar restaurant". This can't happen in a restaurant like this. And even in cheap restaurants the desserts are better than here! I've had many chocolate fondues in other places and I've never experienced something like this. We also ordered the crepe with the weird name: schokoladepalatschink and it was not very good. CONCLUSION: if you're really dying for a good cheese fondue, eat the fondue here and eat the rest somewhere else. read more

Food and experience were great, but with the volume level from such high density seating it is impossible to have a decent conversation. Food was pretty good: we had the classic fondue and excellent wine pairings, followed by a strawberry filled crepe to celebrate my mom's 70th. This place must be true Parisian with terrible service to match. Travis, our server, was incredibly rude throughout our experience. Was not helpful at all with ordering, he gave us a bottle $50 more the price of the one we ordered to upcharge us, rushed us, didn't offer dessert. Extremely unprofessional throughout. Also, icing on the cake, Travis self charged 22% gratuity on our group of 6 ladies, when menu states 18% for groups despite sub par performance. Also he snootily said we should consider ourselves lucky that he would split our ticket regardless of the slow night, aka we were the only table in the restaurant. HORRID SERVICE. To note this was not our first time at the restaurant but this will definitely be our last. Will never recommend to friends and family again. We had a great meal at Le Creperie du Village. We had a variety of items from the menu to get the full flavor. The French Onion Soup was fantastic, the French Connection crêpe was excellent and the Steak a la Plancha was fun and delicious. However, the desserts were just outstanding. We had the Chocolate Fondue and the Schokoladepalatschinke (hard to say, but amazing to eat). Our server, Olivia, was very good and the rest of the team jumped in and helped a great deal. What a gem! A very cool place with funky decor. We needed a quick bite in the afternoon and, being fans of crepes, had been eyeing this place most of the trip. We sat down in their downstairs patio which had a sort of old-west meets french gypsy with a touch of rock n' roll. Our server was quick to welcome us and quite friendly. The menu was, not surprisingly, filled with various crepes split into "sweet" and "savory". The back of the menu had some salads and stuff, but we paid it no mind. Being a fan of Monte Cristo sandwiches I tried their crepe version. The ingredients (ham, cheese, raspberry jam) were very good, though I would have put the jam on the outside of the crepe as it sort of oozed out as I tried to eat it. My wife got something with prosciutto, cornichon (pickles) and a bunch of lettuce, all of which were fresh (ok, so pickles and dry-cured ham aren't really "fresh") and tasty! We were about to skip out on desert, but better senses prevailed and after much deliberation (so many great choices) got the Crepes Suzette. While tasty, it was not served "en flambe" so the sauce was a bit... liquor-y. My friends and I came to this place after having some drinks at a nearby brewery. I was super excited about the crepes, and they did not disappoint! I had the Schokoladepalatschinke, which is a chocolate crepe with strawberries, dulce de leche, chocolate ganache, and it was soo amazing! A friend tried a savory crepe and he enjoyed it as well. Two of my other friends were interested in the escargot, but they both weren't too impressed with it. Overall, I would say come here to eat crepes. I ate lunch there with a friend a few days ago and it was very good, so I decided to go back with my husband today and what a difference! The service was indifferent & slow at best. When our entree's arrived, I could tell that the salmon on my salad was barely cooked. I cut into it and it was raw... not rare, but raw. I make salmon at home all the time and I know the difference between medium and raw. As our server was no where to be found, I politely asked another server if they could return the salmon for further cooking. We had to ask our server to please check on my order, once she reappeared & we got her attention because God forbid she cared enough to check on us or update us on my order. It was easily another 15 minutes before my entree was returned properly cooked, and by the time it came my husband was done with his crepe. We had a late lunch here and I was so thrilled to see outside seating (very well done) and mask wearing. The ambiance was fantastic and so was the food. We loved every bite. The escargot was literally the best I've ever had anywhere, including France, with a divine tomato cream sauce and perfect grilled bread. What an amazing little gem. A perfectly cozy and romantic atmosphere. I sat at the bar and was surprised to find myself front and center for all the action. Where the bar would have been was a small galley kitchen with about ten cooks frantically making various meals. It was amazing to watch so many people work together in such a small space. We were there yesterday. Ordered some desserts. Waiters didn't provide napkins or utensils, didn't visit our table. I have to go ask for napkins and utensils myself. They didn't even ask about the food or if we need anything else. After calling on them to ask for hot drinks, they got the tea without anything else, I mean sugar or whatever comes with the tea. I never give bad reviews, but this had to be the worst service I've ever received. I came in with 3 of my friends for dinner on the 7th February 2018. We were greeted and the host at the door was super nice. Our server was the worst, she didn't introduce herself so I don't know her name, i will however describe her. She had blonde bob hair and she wears glasses. We ran out of water and we had to raise out hands for attention and to get a refill. She didn't ask if we needed a second round of drinks so we ended up drinking water for the rest of the night. My boyfriend ordered a coke and she ran off without asking if anybody wanted anything else. When she replenished cutlery, she threw folks and knives at us like she was angry about something. We asked for a desert menu, waited for about 5 minutes without her bringing it so then we asked one of the bussers to bring it for us. We were not happy with the service so we left her a $10 tip, she ran after us and said that the tip wasn't included, this was so unprofessional and we had to tell her that we tip according to service and she was still arguing with us. I wished we took our $10 back because she deserved $0. She is so unprofessional!!!!! The food was amazing and the restaurant is beautiful, but the service was horrible to say the least. This was the highlight of our trip to Aspen! What a charming hole in the wall! We had a party of four, so we decided to just order four dessert crepes and share them all. That was certainly the best way! We loved trying all the different flavors. We ordered the following: -Midnight In Paris: It truly tasted like crème brulee, complete with caramelized sugar! -The Big Apple: The largest crepe we were served, chock full of cinnamon apples. -The Nutella!: Pretty straightforward. Simply Nutella in a crepe. It was recommended that we order strawberries to go along with it, and we all loved it in all its simplicity. -The Schokoladepelatschinke: You must pronounce it to order it! This has a decadent amount of chocolate and fruit. Truly sinful. You don't believe you're in America when you step inside. It's a teeny, tiny place with dark woods and French country style. The owner and host is French, and the only employees with whom we interacted were European. I must emphasize just how extraordinarily beautiful their service was. One in our party has a wheelchair, and this place is not exactly handicap-accessible. We hadn't done any recon before our visit, so we didn't anticipate the trouble. We didn't have too tough of a time getting him down the stairs, but the host table by the entrance created a problem--his chair couldn't fit through. The host and several employees rallied around to move furniture and EVEN OTHER GUESTS to get us in. They couldn't have been sweeter about it. We didn't even have to ask for them to bend over backwards for us, they just did. They did the same as we left. This gets giant props in my book. It was our first day in Aspen and we had made some last minute reservations to Creperie du Village. It was at 8:45 pm, but we got there 30 minutes early hoping to get seated sooner. We originally wanted a table but the Maitre suggested a just opened spot at the bar. We were reluctant but he convinced us that he would move us to a table when one was available. We sat down at the bar, exchanged greetings with Chef Andreas Neufeld and watched him do his magic. Needless to say, we never moved from our spot at the bar. It was the best seat in the house! Chef Neufeld had a very commanding yet, humble way of running the kitchen. The kitchen was small but very busy because the entire restaurant was full. His food presentation was spectacular. Sitting at the bar, watching every plate come out made us want to order everything. We settled on the following dishes. Split pea and clam soup (which was compliments of the Chef and not on the menu) - great starter. Chevre Chaud (Goat cheese, honey and bread) - highly recommended, you need to use the combo of honey and goat cheese for the great taste. French Connection - savory beef crepe. Good, but i think we should have tried the lamb instead. Dessert- Schokoladepalatschink (chocolate crepe with strawberries, bananas and whip cream)- save room for a crepe dessert. You really can't go wrong with any choice here. Overall, Craperie du Village was a wonderful experience in Aspen. The ambiance was very romantic.
