I debated between giving this a 3 or a 4 star. I chose 4 based on the fact that the almond croissants and the service were fabulous. The owner is Parisian as is a few other staff members. I loved that as it helped the authenticity. I also appreciated some of the gift items that the had for sale. However, I would give it a 3 based on the meals. I got the Maison Crepe (ham and cheese). While the crepe batter was tasty, it was a little too sweet. I also wished they had crepe alternates that weren't with cream sauce. My husband got the french dip and it was o.k. Not the Experience We Hoped For We were surprised it wasn't busy--probably the 100+ degree heat--but the staff was friendly and told us to sit wherever we liked. The foil-wrapped butter was a letdown. My husband's corned beef hash tasted canned, and his egg plate came without any bread--kind of strange for a bakery. We came here last year to purchase some pastries while driving back from Palm Springs. This time, we decided to stop by and have brunch there. This romantic and intimate french cafe is fully adorned with french decorations, and on top of that, the owners are two super friendly french ladies. We ordered their Croque Croissant, and their Crepe. To go with our meal, we also ordered their pastry of the day and their almond croissant. Everything tasted to good. The dishes were full of flavor and their french fries were superb. They were not oily and had the right amount of crisp to it. No wonder they are called French Fries. Not sure if this 'fee' to use a credit card is new, but certainly ill advised. On a $29.00 check, the 'fee' was $8.98 which is around a 30% fee. There was no notice we could find there was a fee until the check came, nor what the fee was. We were expecting maybe a 3-4% amount to cover bank swipe fees, but 30%? Have not run into this anywhere else in town. The food was good, but not exceptional. This certainly ruled out any return visit since not a habit to carry around much cash any longer. I'm not sure how to rate this cafe. The service was slow paced and laid back while the atmosphere was pleasant but the food was not nice. Everything came out just under warm despite being burnt which made it very peculiar and yet interesting. The French butter that came with the baguette was spectacular. So creamy and flavorful! The raspberry jam was just as nice. It was bursting with flavor and it was sad to have gone through it so quickly even though they gave more than enough for two. You may be wondering why three stars at this point.. Fair enough. It was not just the jam and butter that saved this restaurant but also one particular waitress and the chocolate obsession dessert. Our server was a beautiful and vibrant French woman with miscellaneous hair clips, bleach blonde hair and a smile that could turn a bad day around. She was so kind and all around wonderful. We had the spinach/mushroom crepes and the filling was very runny,hardly any mushrooms and no taste! We also had the lunch special,that came with soup,salad and half of a sandwich,the salad dressing again had no taste salad was just two or three leaves and one green bean ,also in a French restaurant one would expect a sandwich made with a baguette instead it came with very thin slices of plain old white bread. The service too was very good. The ambiance try's to mimic a French restaurant and comes close. Took out some excellent pastries for later. One disappointment is that it only stays open till 4:30 pm. I normally don't do bad reviews as I hate to hurt small business but this place was the worst, went here on way home from a weekend away, came in staff was rude and said sit anywhere so we found a table by the door, it took 20 minutes to be waited on, once there the waiter was rude and hurried us along, she only came back one other time to bring us drinks and my wife her croisant, another server brought us our food which was lukewarm, and we had to ask a busser to get someone to get us our check, the food was subpar at best, croissant was heavy not light and fluffy shame for a French place to not be able to make that, eggs were overcooked and my steak was tough like leather it was supposed to be medium rare, was a horrible ending to a otherwise great trip I will not go back, fast food restaurants can give u better food and service, avoid at all costs. read more

They only had 1 food server. After we ordered, the food came out relatively quick in about 10-15 mins. I'm very confused by the way they run things here though - why wouldn't you take the order first and have customers wait? Or have the drink server also take food orders when it's busy? I really thought about leaving haha. But the drink server was so nice and came to check on us a lot. Oh, and we spent another 20mins trying to spot the waitress and get her attention to get for the check. But my husband just ended up going to the counter to pay. Well I guess at least they're not rushing you... The bakery line also got really long as we ate. The first customer that came in with a to-go order waited probably around 30mins to get his 7 croissants! Hope the wifey and kids were not mad at him. Food was actually very tasty and deserve solid 5 stars. The crepe was perfect - fruits were fresh and juicy. It's not overly sweet. Coffee was AMAZING!!
