    Beignet!

Pretty good. May not be Café Du Monde but it definitely will fulfill that beignet craving before leaving NOLA.

Best beignets! They are fresh- puffy and layered inside. Other well known places in the city served them cold and doughy.

Best beignets of our trip- warm, puffy and layered. Other well known ones in the city were cold and doughy.

Really different than any beignet I've ever had. Its clearly pastry dough (flakey) and its all layered inside. It tasted quite good but UNFORTUNATELY IT WAS BARELY WARM!!! Such a bummer. Also the sign advertises "stuffed beignets" which I was curious to try but they've discontinued it! She also gave it to us in a bag without asking if we wanted it to go. We sat and ate in there anyway.

You don't have many options at this airport in New Orleans, but if you do get a few minutes waiting for your flight, the French market café does have some pretty good pastries. Of course, the powdered sugar covered beignets are the big attraction. So, if you forget to get your beingnets down at Cafe du Monde in the French Quarter, you have a second chance here at the airport :-)

The beignets here are so warm and tasty. The service I received today was absolutely great. Paola did an amazing job with my order, her customer service makes this place feel very inviting! Would definitely come back for more!!

Located by gate B9 is a great place for fresh beignets.

The best beignets I had on my most recent trip to New Orleans on my last trip was not at Cafe Dumond but was at this little cafe in the airport. These were fresh from the fryer, piping hot, and less greasy than Dumond. I was not expecting this. An order of 3 was around $4 with tax.

When we come back to New Orleans I will be trying lunch and/or diner here and I can't wait.

I'm glad I gave it another shot because this place was worth the return trip. The vibe immediately transports you to the Caribbean with colorful decor, island music, and a fun atmosphere. My foodie friend and I started with a couple of cocktails: the Caribbean Rum Punch and the Passion Fruit Piña Colada. Both were strong, refreshing, and definitely not shy on the rum. For appetizers, we ordered the Dominican Ribs, glazed with sweet chili, ginger, and soy. These disappeared fast and easily became one of my favorite bites of the night. I would come back just for the ribs alone! For entrées, we shared: Zydeco Redfish - Cajun grilled redfish topped with fried shrimp, garlic mashed potatoes, Creole reduction, and veggies. The red fish was cooked perfectly and was the standout dish for me. Island Ribeye - A 13oz ribeye marinated in pineapple ginger soy, served with whipped sweet potatoes and pistachios. Great flavor with a nice island twist. And of course, we had to get a side of fried plantains because you can never go wrong with plantains. Great food, strong drinks, and a fun atmosphere. I'll definitely be back to check out their happy hour soon. Tonylameats Approved
