While totally under appreciated as a somewhat regular at a local salon, I decided to not to continue to reward bad behavior, so I headed up Highway K and took a chance to pull into "French Nails & Spa". What a refreshing, and relaxing experience I enjoyed there!! The owners both Daniel and Heidi were welcoming and delightful!! I enjoyed a upgraded winter pedi, then had a few tips and a dip polish applied to my hand nails. I have never had such of a proficient technician!! I lucked out, while I know they're all great there, I had the pleasure to get Daniel, the owner. he did a rock star job on both my mani & pedi! I felt like a Princess!! The atmosphere there was quite clean, inviting and relaxing!! Enjoyed the relaxing spa music in the background during my services! it's definitely, a must try kind of place! if it's any consolation, I pre booked for 3 weeks from now. quite a bit of bang for your buck! read more

very happy with the quality of my gel manicure. The staff is also very friendly and does good work. I appreciated my manicurist taking her time and making sure I was satisfied with everything. Yes, I got a pedicure.....while listening to Megadeth. Ok..my wife made us an appointment. We arrived on time, and were greeted right away. By the time we sat down they were ready for us. I had Jennifer and she was beyond nice and polite. She brought us some water and started our massage chairs., and made sure the foot bath stayed warm. I got the summer classic. It smelled like cucumbers. The calf and foot massage relieved a lot of pain. I lost track of time sitting there, I think next time I will get a deluxe package..and ask for Jennifer. When I was finished I sat in one of the massage chairs. You put your whole body inside this thing...and lay back and enjoy. I need to buy one for home! The young man cut my cuticle on my toes so badly they were bleeding and he had to use a green liquid. He did not take my previous Gel off properly with an acetone soak- he instead burned my cuticles badly with the dremel in his hurry. Paid $60 for a gel pedicure that looks awful and received not one minute of the 15 minute massage that was part of the package I chose. I will NOT be back and would not recommend anyone to go here. Want to give a 1 one star review but my girl saved them from 1 star. My husband had one of the owners do his pedi and the other owner did my cousins. Both owners we rude and it was very expensive. One owner watched the football game and did a 1/2 assed job on my husband. The other owner talked on the phone the whole time on speaker while working on my cousin. My girl was fabulous and did an amazing job. I tipped my girl very well and didn't want to tip the owner at all, but was afraid he might try to take his nieces tip from her so I tipped him too. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. I sat for an hour waiting with polished remover and aluminum foil on my toes, and yes I know gel polish has to ""soak" off, but it does not take an hour. The the pedicure bath was broken and instead of moving me to a different bath, the nail tech tried to "work" on it whole I sat in the chair my feet were freezing, and never offered to put me in a different chair (of which there were at least 6 open), until I began to get very frustrated at the horrible service and had to ask to be moved. I was moved to a previously used bath which I asked her to clean because I never saw her clean it out, she just continued to fill the bowl ignoring me. I would have walked out at this point, however I had a powder gel manicure started with nail tips that had not been filed and where the gel and glue used on the tips had stuck into a sharp edge and I noticed my finger was bleeding, where the scissors or gel had at some pint cut my finger open. I showed it to the male tech or owner David who said the tip or gel stuck to it and had cut it....he never put alcohol or anything o the cut but begin filing my nails. With a file that was NOT opened fresh. That is only a portion of the experience. They did not offer to do anything about the pedicure that began in a broken bowl, and once moved was attempted with barely lukewarm water twice, before I complained loudly enough that the water was finally made hot, as my feet were freezing from having remover on them for an hour. I asked at checkout about the pedicure and it was only then that he said he give me $5 off. As I got home and looked closer at my nails, there was paint on my toes, my nails we filed horribly and looked like squares at the end of my fingers. I called to complain and was yelled at that I cut my own finger, and what did I think I should have gotten my service for free? This was by the owner David.... he got very loud with me on the phone and spoke over me. I recommend avoiding this place completely. HORRIBLE SERVICE, RUDE, ....oh and I got no hand massage or anything with my manicure.....yet was charged $78 .... would not return if this was the last place on earth for services. And it is not sanitary and I will be calling the Missouri Board to report them. Would give them negative star ratings if possible!!!!! read more

So disappointed. I WAS a client for over 3 years. Myself and others were pressured to purchase many gift certificates promising a discount. Well that was in December was then Told by the owner the gift certificates could not be used until after January 1. Well now I know why.....They secretly sold the business. To some very questionable people. I have been in to get a pedicure and was waited on by a lady who cut my toes pretty bad. Didn't stop after she saw the bleeding. I'm not sure who these people are but the place is dirty and the service are Awful. Now I'm stuck with gift certificates that are worthless. I arrived in the evening to have a pedicure and shellac manicure. The pedicure was actually very relaxing and the lady did a nice job shaping my toenails. Unfortunately, she did a horrible job of painting my nails. They were so awful that I asked her to fix them (both feet) and she actually didn't do it until I was halfway through my manicure, forcing me to sit rather awkwardly so that she could reach my feet. The repair job was better, but I actually had several smears of polish on the outside of my nails and on top of my feet that she didn't clean up. At that point, I was over it so I just took care of that myself at home. The manicure was just okay. He put way too much polish on so they started chipping about a week later. He didn't shape my nails well. He also started soaking my nails and shaping them while I was still in the chair receiving my pedicure which I can't stand. I won't return. read more

I was very surprised to see the low ratings on this place. I went here to get my nails done for prom with my friend and had an outstanding experience. We went and hour before closing so I was worried they were going to rush through since I wanted a full French set acrylic nails but they did not. They spent time making sure my nails were done right. The women doing my nails was a little grumpy but the owner apologized to me and told me about her new born baby and I really didn't mind to begin with because he sat with me the whole time because there were no new customers. He told me about this new kind of polish that was the same price as the one I was getting but wouldn't damage my nails and still last long because he could tell my nails were fragile. (Which they are and I was worried about the acrylic but he didn't push and said just something he might suggest for next time) he showed me their new massage chairs and offered us drinks. Very friendly and encouraged us to come back on a day when we had more time and could stay and enjoy longer. I talked my husband into going with me yesterday. He loves getting a GOOD foot massage. We arrived and they should have told us how long we were going to have to wait.There was only 2 of them working. So they tell us we can use their free massage chairs so we did then we are still waiting.They start filling 2 pedicure chairs with water and tell us to come sit. My water was cold my husbands was lukewarm so I tell her and she lets a little water out and turns hot on but it's still not that warm .She leaves us sitting with feet in cold water then she proceed to do BOTH of our pedicures at once ,going back and forth. We got the paraffin wax one so she puts my feet in bags then rubs my shins for a minute but NEVER even massages my feet. I'm thinking ok maybe she will after the wax, she goes to my husband and barely massages his and comes back to mine and paints. We have both been here before several times but sorry to say probably won't be back. My nail polish was old so it never dried . It all smudged hours later. What a waste of our money. The reason why I started going here was because of reviews and my first time was great but it has gone down every other visit. If you are understaffed or don't have time I would rather you just say so then have us sit and then give us not great service. read more

Gross Gross Gross. I have been here multiple times and the service hit or miss depending on the day. Midday on a Wednesday I knew it would slow so I showed up and got right in. Needed a mani and pedi. Well I didn't see them turn on the water for the pedi station and they said to come over. (I was the only customer there) Looking into the water I saw skin floating and stuck my finger in the water. It was cold. The lady tried to tell me that it was the blue balls that created that. I made her drain the water, clean the basin and start over. Guess what, this time no floaties. They were going to use "used" water. I guess cutting cost. Cost them my business and this review. The first part of my visit was good. I went in for a fill and pedicure. Pleasant conversation with the owner/tech until his wife showed up from going home to take a nap. That's when he went from "Mr. nice guy" to being impolite. I am very picky and want my nails a certain way. He was able to shape my nails fine. However I picked out a very light color that required several coats. The color took okay on my feet but not so good on my hands. I was totally dissatisfied! He rushed through polishing my nails. His wife came and asked how did I like the polish so I responded honestly and said I didn't like that you could see through the polish, my tips. I suggested next time a solid base color that would allow the thin polish to apply better. She totally took offense and I immediately set her straight. She asked rudely what would I like them to do? I then complimented her on how white her teeth was, she mentioned she does teeth whitening in the salon. I requested more information then she quickly walked away to the back. I spent $48 just on a pedicure and fill.....outrageous! Within 24 hours, one of my nails has already chipped. To be so expensive, they have very old scratched up salon stations. I am writing this review shortly after leaving and I have to say this was one of the strangest experiences I have ever had. I feel like the ownership needs to know that when people go to get their nails done they go to relax and it costs a lot of money as I spent $92 on this visit. The entire time I was getting my nails done the woman doing my manicure and then gentlemen doing my pedicure were talking. It made me feel very much like an outsider. Additionally at the beginning of my service it was disclosed to me that a tragedy had occurred in the family of the gentleman doing my pedicure. It was too much information for me to take in as it was a horrible tragedy but none the less one I did not need to know about. The quality massage for both manicure and pedicure was below average and the lady who did my shellac manicure missed a spot on my thumb and instead of thinking to polish it she tried to clip the nail that wasn't polished when I said no no she then polish the nail. Additionally I have nail polish on my fingers and my toes but the one positive was that the people were nice and I feel bad for the tragedy but but wish I wouldn't have been told about it as I'm not a friend or family and it's a huge burden when you're trying to relax. read more

I went in about 3 weeks ago to get my eyebrows done by the owner, Dasani. She is the only person to do my brows for 10 years ot more. When I went in there were 3 or 4 women there who said Dasani was on vacation. I knew something was up, but I was desperately in need of my eyebrows to be done. Let me say, this was the worst experience. I have never felt so much pain before. When I looked on the mirror they were bleeding! Fast forward to last night. I took my daughter in to see if Dasani was back. When we walked in the lady asked how she could help us. I asked her if Dasani was back from vacation and she said we have no waiting how can I help you now. I asked again if Dasani was back from vacation and she yelled over to a lady named Cindy. I've tried several nail salons with numerous bad experiences, but was completely impressed by French Nails! My friend recommended them and I'm very happy! The man who did my pedicure was fantastic - he consistently asked me if the temperature was okay from the water to the hot rocks and massage. He ensured I enjoyed my experience as much as possible and even offered me a beverage. The massage chairs are fantastic, once I figured out how to work it, I kept with the Demo option 2. I was the only one besides another woman getting a pedicure at first, but more people came in for pedicures. I was expecting a rush job due to the other customers waiting, but that didn't happen, he spent a full hour on my pedicure and was very meticulous in painting my toes. I was given a coupon by a friend but she had never been there. It was supposed to be 20% off gel manicure, 30% off a gel pedicure but had no price noted (of course I couldn't use both) I really just wanted a nice gel French tip manicure for a wedding I was attending in the afternoon on Dec 19th. They would not let me just get the manicure, "oh it's a better deal, I'll give you blah blah blah, if u get both". She kept writing down all these prices, ect. I have major back problems & just wanted to sit down. I ended up getting both, w/the manicure being a mini (which they didn't really even trim my cuticles) ahead of time I told them I'm very picky about my nails being smooth. I was not happy w/the outcome, I had to smooth 3 nails & 2 toenails when I got home. I got no lotion on my hands. The pedicure lady was quite but nice. But there was no "hot stone massage" or really no massage of my legs at all! I keep asking her for the water to be hotter but never got that either. The owner (guy) did the manicure In my lap as I was having my pedicure. The "great deal cost if I did both" was $69 plus I gave the gal that did my pedicure a tip, bringing my total to $75! Had the service & outcome been GREAT, I wouldn't have minded so much. I was told (by them) they had better "gel" than anyone around, it would last 6-8 weeks! Which I knew was crap. For the barely week plus the gel manicure lasted I had to smooth the tips several times, then finally just peeled them off. The place was also dirty! I wish I'd have read some reviews prior to going, my bad! I will never go there again & wouldn't recommend them either. They catered to the 5 yr old there more than me!?
