This was the first coffee shop I visited when I moved here, and I wasn't disappointed. The food was delicious and the coffee was perfect!

Super cute and quiet place. I came tonight and it was a nice "getaway" for a bit. Good music playing too, and I'm always a fan of coffee house music. I got the loaded breakfast crepe which is very filling and good. Large portion as well. I do feel it's a bit overpriced, but still good quality food and coffee nonetheless. Just seems a bit silly to spend 14 dollars on the two. The only complaint is I had to wait a few minutes before the gal behind the counter took my order. There were two people working and it seemed a bit understaffed. I could see this being problematic for busy days especially. I noticed they messed up some other orders, but thankfully not on mine. My food and drink came out quickly. The tables could also be a bit cleaner. I noticed some spills and crumbs on quite a few of them, but then again, I'm sure they didn't have time to come away from the counter due to orders. Not their fault, but it seems there could be more of a team behind the counter. Great place regardless. Been here twice now and haven't been disappointed. read more

I'll admit, the crepes are delicious and creative. But the service and snootiness that goes with the order I could do without. The vibe inside is not friendly. The staff and patrons are very unwelcoming. I don't think I've ever had my Amerciano made correctly. How can you screw up espresso and water? Cute building, but I think I'll pass for now. read more

Great Cappucino and amazing Breakfast Crepe. However, staff could use some training in professionalism. The girl taking my order stopped several times to talk to her friend waiting in an adjacent line. This not only was rude but caused her to make many mistakes and I had to give my order again and again. Turns out I was charged for an additional crepe but I didn't notice because at this point I was very frustrated. We then waited until after several people who ordered after us got their food before us. Finally a guy came up and asked what we had ordered. I told him and he came right back with our food. He then asked if I had ordered three crepes, I said no and this is when it was discovered I had been over charged. No big deal, it happens, I'm just glad he caught it. With that said there are a couple ways to handle this. If I ran this place I would sincerely apologize and offer a gift card worth more than the over charge to encourage a return visit. Instead, cash was placed on my table without an apology. A wasted opportunity to turn a negative into a possible. Oh well!! Not sure there will be a next time. read more

I used to visit French Press frequently, their everything bagel with basil pesto and garlic cream cheese is delicious and not found at any other restaurants in the area. I normally go through the Drive-Thru and found that you wait quite a long time. More than once they've messed up my order but always given me a free bagel my next visit or allowed me to come back and get what I asked for. The girls working are not very friendly at all, making me not want to tip a penny. I've gone inside a couple times and the same rude service seems to be consistent. I ordered a marionberry crepe and found it to be too sweet and full of way too much custard cream glop and haven't ordered another since. Their drinks are alright, my Italian soda wasn't mixed so I found myself drinking straight syrup which isn't so delightful, so stir your drink before taking a sip! I ordered a green tea today and I'm almost positive that is not what I got. The girl was snippy and short with my boyfriend and seemed "put out" when he asked for our breakfast to go. Went when it was busy and it had a very chaotic feel to it. Can tell its a restaurant thats been shoe horned into a Starbucks. Crepes were under cooked and too thick. Filling was beyond decadent to the point of being greasy. Coffee tasted bitter and burnt but I'm also not a fan of dark/french roast so perhaps thats not a fair complaint. read more

This is my favorite breakfast/lunch spot. Great crêpes and coffee! My favorite is the chorizo breakfast crêpe, so savory and delicious. Chorizo with egg, tomato, green onion, mozzarella cheese, and smothered in salsa verde (my favorite)It's spicy, so beware. I am just not a huge fan if this place. Yes my crepe and coffee was good but that means nothing when the guy behind the counter has zero personality. So as you stand in this crowded place people are constantly walking in front of you. There was this pretentious couple who kept walking over to get condiments and acted like you were in their way. I mean come on. This place tends to attract a snottier group of people for some reason. So I placed my order with the rude guy and sat down. The gal at some point called out my coffee order but I didn't hear her and my coffee just sat their until my friend went up and got hers. I don't think I will bother ever going inside again. Cool spot with good coffee and delicious crepes. We took my Grandma here for a belated birthday brunch and everything was excellent. The space is clean and modern with a nice fireplace inside and plenty of patio seating outside. We ordered at the counter and took a seat by the fire. I got the California crepe. The filling was a nice mix of veggies, chicken and cheese. I would prefer chèvre instead of feta, but it worked. My wife got the maple bacon crepe that was on the specials board. It was as rich and indulgent as you would hope it to be. My daughter got the Belgian chocolate crepe with strawberries. Also good, but nothing special. Grandma enjoyed her maple bacon French toast. We will return the next time we are in Salem in need of a quick French fix. read more

French Press is very tasty and everything is made fresh to order. Their pastries are soooo good, and they have exceptional crepes. The service here was really great and helpful and the crepes had a wonderful presentation. Didn't try the coffee but everything looked great and you could watch the crepes being made in front of you. Great dessert crepe (emilee), but I was disappointed by my breakfast's crepes 'avocado', which was really a gross packaged tasting avocado paste... This was my first experience with French press. I have to say that I'm SUPER DISAPPOINTED!! Not only did we have to wait for over 40 minutes in the drive thru. They left our crepes next to the open window. The chorizo crepe was all egg and the salsa was just some weird green goo. The breakfast one was simply horrible. In all fairness the salmon crepe was good. I have to say I won't come back. They had to ask me three different times what I ordered and tried twice to give me someone else's stuff. Lost a customer here. And the real stinger was it was 35+ dollars for a coffee and three crepes. My advice. Go somewhere else and avoid the disappointment. read more

I came into this place hoping to stall for a bit waiting for my next appointment with a lovely cappuccino and crepe. What I had was a plain crepe (upon my request by order) it said it would come with lemon and powdered sugar. It arrived at my table promptly however it had whipped creme on it. I asked to have whipped topping removed and said it was supposed to have lemon with powdered sugar. The staff grabbed my plate in an annoyed manner and returned with lemon added and powdered sugar and then mentioned it was too hard to remove the whipped topping! Surprise I guess I'm stuck with that. Onto my drink. I ordered a wet cappuccino what then I received was a very light very foamy drink. I asked the barsista if this was a wet cappuccino she replied isn't that what I said. My mistake, yes it is however wet meaning less foam this has a large amount of foam. She mentioned she didn't realize that meant a difference of foam!! I didn't realize that was such a special request!! Good luck to the patrons, and please be specific of what you order. read more

This is purely based on the coffee...I got an iced cold brew yesterday and it seems they have switched to these trendy light roasts that are super sour. I find these undrinkable but I guess people must like them because places are serving them. I just wish these places would let you know up front. read more

Every time we visit family in Salem we are sure to stop and enjoy a breakfast here. Even when they are slammed busy they have excellent customer service. Today we had the chorizo breakfast crepe and the peach crepe, and frankly I couldn't choose my favorite between the two! So wonderfully delicious. I went in at 8am for breakfast. I purchased hot tea and then waited and waited while the two behind the counter visited. I finally asked for my tea and got it. While I waited for my friend to arrive I looked around and it soon became clear that the floors had not been cleaned from the day before. I picked up a large red grape and took it to the counter. Underneath the table were lots of large crumbs and what looked like baby cereal pieces. It made me wonder what else they hadn't cleaned. My food arrived in a timely manner and was hot and good. I would hope that the forgotten cleaning was a one time thing. read more

Food was served pretty quick. But I did see a employee lick her fingers and then continue to make food. Tables were filled with dirty dishes and it took a while for them to be cleaned.
