We found this place one day for lunch not long after they opened after driving to Clarkesville and finding the restaurant we intended to go too had gone out of business. Huge menu selection! We have been back several times and the food is always great with large portion sizes. Servers are always nice and they have no problem notating things you don't want included in your meal. I cannot even fathom how awful a restaurant could be. Hospitality definition: the friendly and generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers. 1. we reserved a room for 30 people well in advance, id say about 3 weeks ago if not more, out of the 30, there were 7 small children 2. we had a simple small pre - fix menu and minimal apps before hand The problems with this restaurant hosting large parties: 1. There was only one server for our whole party, so it took a while for our drinks, some of us did not even receive. 2. That one server was the owner of the restaurant. 3. We all ordered in a timely manner and as any good restaurant would know, that with a large party, you feed the kids first... restaurant 101. 4.Once the food started coming out, they yelled it out. Even though everyone had been sitting in the same seat as before and it would have been very professional to write it down with seat numbers and hand us our food instead of yelling.. " BURRITO WITH EVERYTHING!! NACHOS NO ONION!!" especially in the middle of some of the toasts.. seriously. 5. By the time the first plate of food came out it took 45 min to an hour to get the last persons plate of food. It should have came out a lot closer together than that. If not all together. 6. During people waiting on their food, there was still only the one server/ owner bringing the food, which means we could not get anything else we needed. no water refill, no napkins, nothing. 7. I went up to the host stand and saw 5 servers in an empty restaurant playing on their phones. we addressed our concerns and all they could do was give us attitude and say that the food is being brought out as the kitchen gives it to her(our server). Ok fine.... so is it the kitchens fault my sweet tea is empty? Should I talk to the cook about the fact that people are staring at their cold burrito because they cant get silverware? I've never seen a team of servers care so little about their team, you see your friend have a large party? Do you really think only one person can do it? Don't you want to help them out and have 30 satisfied customers? 8.When we said we rented the room, the staff cuts us off and says, no you didn't rent the room, you reserved it. If you had rented it, you would have paid for it. ?????? I'm sorry, does that mean if we had rented it we wouldn't have gotten the worst service of our lives? Thanks for letting me know that I have to fork out more money at your establishment for decent service. 9. When we finally got it through their heads that we needed more bodies in there, the last person to get any kind of service, was the host of the party, the person willing to pay all this money, gets their food last, and wrong. She had to immediately box it up because all of her guests were done. When she got home she sat down at the kitchen table and ate it alone, she couldn't even have a nice meal with all of her guests from out of town. 10. Now this is where it gets extremely unsettling, we don't see our server/ owner of the restaurant the last 30 of this event. Another server comes up to the host of the party to inform her that the owner is upset and will not be returning for the remainder of the party. WHAT??? We weren't yelling at anyone, we weren't cursing. We were however, visibly upset at the piss poor service and staff. That in no way excuses an owner of a restaurant to not show their face to an unhappy guest, and you sent a seemingly nice server to do your dirty work because you could not handle it. All we wanted was communication and all you gave us was excuses and horrible service. ( Until the small group of servers finally started to help out in the end.) Just absolutely awful. read more

UPDATE: They have switched back to their regular restaurant and got rid of the buffet. Thank goodness! Food is great again. I love their Cuban. Their burgers are also so good. Favorite spot in town for burgers. I really hate to write this review. This was our favorite place in the county to eat before the conversion. We finally bit the bullet and tried out the buffet on Friday for lunch. Of everything we ate, only two items were hot. A lot of it was inedible. I tried three different types of chicken and they were all too dry to eat. One of the chicken tenders I got I was able to finish. The flavor was fine on everything but being cold made items like the Texas fries so chewy I couldn't finish them. The dessert bar is just cookies and cut up Swiss cake rolls. They have slivers of cheesecake in the glass case. The most important problem was the cold food. As we were eating I brought up the concern of food safety being that nothing was kept at a proper temperature. My husband threw up after the meal and I didn't feel too hot either. We are honestly crushed to lose our favorite spot. I hope they can turn things around, but we won't be coming back for a long time. read more

We used to love this place, in fact we followed them from their humble beginnings in Cornelia. We have dined here at least 30-40 times in the past. The food quality presently is just no longer up to par. In the past 3 visits, we have had to send something back to the kitchen, because it was unacceptable. The management does not care to hear the complaints, and in fact even argued with me once, regarding a dish that was not prepared as it had been in the past. After tonight's visit, we will not return. There were so many flies trying to land on our food, that we could not finish our dinners. I realize that it is summertime, but this is an indoor restaurant. I truly hope the kitchen isn't inundated with as many flies. Sorry to say, but Fresco's is no longer for us. read more

My husband and I were in the area to see the car museum, and we wanted lunch. Unfortunately, our go-to spot was closed for the day, so we parked on the "square" thinking we'd walk around and pick a new place for our lunch. Immediately, I saw the sign for Fresco's Restaurant, noted that it was open for lunch and offered pasta and burgers (two favorites for us) so we decided to give it a shot. We were seated instantly by a pleasant young lady and given a freebie to munch on. You might need it, because it takes a bit of time to peruse the large menu. I asked for suggestions, but hubby ordered a burger and fries. I wish I had taken a picture of it, because it was really huge! He said it was very good. I ordered the special of the day, "Las Vegas," which was fried chicken portions topped with saucy mashed potatoes adorned with tomatoes, mushrooms, and shrimp. This was accompanied by a salad on a huge platter. Not only was it a huge portion of food for the price, but it was tasty, too. Service was great! This restaurant is quite large for the area, so things were not crowded together. (BTW, I noticed that other reviewers mentioned a buffet, but the menu and service we had was for a sit down and dine in situation, which was exactly what we wanted.) We don't live in the area, but if you visit or live nearby, please give Fresco's a try. We were both quite impressed. read more

The one saving grace for this restaurant is that the food is delicious. What I didn't like: 1. They parked their vehicle in the parking spot right in front of the door which seemed inconsiderate of their customers be they elderly, disabled or just cold on this blistering winter day. 2. When ordering, I noticed on the kids menu that everything came with fries. Not a healthy choice. I asked if they had a healthy choice substitute. The waitress stated that there is an up charge for any substitute. So basically, you have to take like it's written on the menu or your charged extra. Not good for any Vegan, diabetic or someone on a special diet. You're punished for that at this place. 3. So while waiting for the food, no chips and salsa or bread was brought to the table so I thought I would wait it out on my phone. I asked the waitress for the WiFi password. No WiFi. 4. When ordering, we specified that one of the dishes was going to be split. When they brought the food out it was on one plate. They didn't have the courtesy to split it for us. They didn't even bring an extra plate so we could split it ourselves. Such a poorly run establishment. Sad really because the food is good. read more

The portion was huge! It was good. I had the Louisiana Pasta. It was a Cajun style white cream sauce over bow tie pasta with mushrooms, onions, green peppers. Positively the Worst Food I have had at a Restaurant Ever. Whatever those things are that they bring out as a Starter looks like they ran over potatoes in the parking lot and pick them out of the Truck Tires. I had the Salmon that was not only overdone it was burnt. My date had the Chicken Quesadilla which apparently they ran out of Chicken and used melted Super balls. This looks like a small little cafe on the corner of Washington Street, but it's got plenty of seating inside. The food is fresh and delicious no matter what you order. Most of my friends live the spaghetti and the $1 happy hour beer. I love their tacos, wings and chopped steak with real mashed potatoes. Not real impressed but I'll start with the good stuff. We started with Dollar tacos on Tuesday we got the corn tortillas they were good. My husband ordered fish and chips and they allowed him to sub the chips for some grilled corn mix that had green bell peppers and zucchini his plate was good we liked it. Now the meh.. First, nice friendly wait staff, Clean with easy parking. But...my girl's chicken fettucini alfredo was served without bread or even any garnish. You really had to search for any chicken among the fettucini. My Greek salad seems to have been made in a blender. Let me start by saying I LOVE their food, especially the pasta. The chicken penne alfredo is delicious. So is the cajun alfredo with sausage. Their grilled salmon is DELICIOUS! I used to eat here 2 to 3 times a month. The alfredo sauce is creamy and flavorful and using penne instead of fettuccine is a nice substitute. The portion size is huge and could probably feed 2 or 3 people. The doodles with cheese they offer while you wait are tasty as well. Unfortunately, I can't give more than three stars because I ate here recently and after the fifth or sixth bite I found a dead bug in my plate while stirring up my food. The placed was packed and I didn't want to make a scene so I got up and walked out, leaving my friend to take care of the bill and let them know. They apologized but didn't offer to take it off our bill until my friend got a bit rude with them. Also, my friend ordered extra chicken and never received it. She waited over 15 minutes but it never came and food was getting cold so we went ahead and ate. I'm not sure if we were charged for the extra chicken but my meal was taken off the bill after a lengthy conversation with one of the higher ups. As for the restaurants interior, the main room is nice and has beautiful decor. Parking has never been an issue even on busy nights. The hosts are always friendly and inviting. They could probably pay a bit more attention to the small details. The menus were very sticky and noticeably dirty. My chair had crumbs in it. These smaller details wouldn't stop me from eating here again but worrying about something in my food is the issue. read more

I love Fresco's! The food is amazing, especially for the price. I originally found the place by web searching for pasta in Cornelia. I was a little sad when they moved to Clarkesville, until I visited the new location. It is roomy and better suited for the great food. My favorite dish is Bistro Shrimp Pasta. I also love the Fresco's Chicken. Favorite appetizer is the Tex-Mex Eggrolls with a delicious avacado dipping sauce. The staff has always been polite, and answered all the many questions I had. Every now and then you have a meal that is so bad it's almost comical. Let me introduce you to Fresco's Buffet. We had never been here before today but we're excited to try after reading the reviews and getting recommendations from friends. We have apparently shown up 3 days after their transition to a buffet and away from a more traditional sit down and order restaurant. Bad move. All I can say is welcome to an even lower grade Golden Corral. The options are random, the quality is poor, and all the food is luke warm at best. As my wife bit into her dessert (a Swiss cake roll cut in half) I was sending her the buffet scene clip from Chevy Chase's Vegas Vacation... best comparison, not exaggerating. Then to top it off, the price for two after drinks and tax was $32.61. (At least Cousin Eddie's experience was only a $1.49) Do yourself a favor and dodge this one going forward. This is by far the BEST restaurant in Habersham. It is just a little hole in the wall kind of place, but the food is FANTASTIC! I love everything that I have tried there so far. Their Fresco Chicken is delicious and similar in comparison to Bahama Breeze's Buttermilk Chicken. My husband loves their Orange Chicken which is similar to Cheesecake Factory's Orange chicken. They have such variety- so they definitely have something for everyone. I am so thankful to have a LOCAL restaurant that has delicious food!! The space in Clarkesville looks a lot cleaner than in Cornelia. Hopefully they will add some more decor soon to make it look like they plan to stay. The guacamole and fresh tortilla chips is the best around and you can tell is made fresh. Great sweet tea and the shrimp tacos with rice and beans are delicious. This might be the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at. The menu is absurdly random. The "specialty" menu begins with Asian chicken and ends with a Mexican burrito. It also includes all the other items available in the Sysco Foods budget catalogue. It's like ordering from a menu in a middle school cafeteria. I was thrilled to see a restaurant with such a wide menu and great food in Habersham County. My husband and I went for lunch. I had chicken piccata and he had the fresco's burger. The Piccata was delicious. It was a creamy rather than traditionally oily sauce, but very delicious. The chicken was thin slices of breast meat that I probably would've preferred had been breaded and sautéed rather than baked, but it was really very good. The pasta was cooked al dente and served on the platter with the chicken and sauce. Many places serve the side of pasta with red sauce which I think is inappropriate for this dish, so I was very pleased. My husband loved his hamburger. The service was friendly. My only reason for giving four stars rather than five is the atmosphere. The menu is more appropriate for a more trendy, mid range casual restaurant. However, it was totally lacking in ambience. It felt more like a roadside country kitchen. It is sparsely decorated with country western Soundtrack. I believe this place could really do a fabulous business catering to a broader spectrum of customers with a little help with design and atmosphere. Otherwise, two thumbs up for sure. read more

I'm not sure I ate in the same restaurant as some of the other 5 star reviewers? We had a meeting to attend in Clarksville so stopped in to get something to eat before. First off - There is no beer or wine... or any other liquor for that matter. ? There is a bar area in the restaurant but plainly not in use. Another reviewer mentioned the weird array of choices on the menu - this place isn't sure what it wants to be? Asian, Mexican or Italian? I ordered the tacos. It came with a salad? Or I should say, it came with ranch dressing and a side of salad. It was absolutely drowning in dressing. Next came my plate of tacos - again, drowning in some kind of a remoulade sauce and a tiny amount of meat under a large blanket of lettuce and of course, the sauce. The plate also came with rice and beans- about two forks worth of each. Other patrons were ordering pasta which looked OK from afar. Their plates were heaping with noodles and others were taking home their leftovers. The prices are fine - you do get a good amount of food for your buck. But is this the food you want? Ambience was zero.. I have a feeling someone new may be running this place... The food needs some work and the waitresses could be a little friendlier instead of gathered at the front staring at their iPhones. I probably won't be back. read more
