This will be my regular go-to-bakery from now on and would recommend this place to families and friends for sure. Finally... I don't have to go to Glendale, Hollywood, or the Valley to buy "Lahmajun". I found an amazing bakery that makes excellent Mediterranean appetizers, that's affordable, local, and delicious! They have great selection of different appetizers. Every item I've tried on their menu has been simply delicious. Not sure yet who the owner is, but it doesn't matter... whoever has helped me, has been very hospitable. Super friendly. I used to drive almost one hour to get similar food. My first experience with Fresh Bakery was a few days ago. It was just recently opened. If you are a fan of authentic Mediterranean food, then this is the closest you will come to finding one. I tried lahmajune and spicy cheese beorek. Oh. my. Gosh. They were super delicious. if I can give this place 0 stars I would.. these people are so rude and they are very stereotypical they judge you on how you look, dress and speak if they assume you are just a piece of trash they won't have any respect for you and they will made my mom wait for her food as they serve other customers and give their food right away but they told my mom the lahmajune and the cheese borag is being made and it's not ready but yet they serving other customer who had came into the store after my mom. my mom noticed they were looking at her as they feel guilty for what they are doing. when my mom finally got her food when she got home as she was eating she noticed the food wasn't fresh and it was old. she got very sick the food gave her diarrhea. these people are very rude and they should be held accountable for serving awful Food and very bad customer service. I have been coming here for over a year now because it's one of the few halal options within driving distance to me. I found it by chance because I was shopping at the halal market next door. All I have to say is ALL THE FOOD IS AMAZING. The lahmajun is the best I've ever tasted! The plain cheese borek seems so simple but it is delicious! I just tried their vegetarian dolmas and they too are out of this world. I've tried their spicy cheese borek which is perfect for me because it's a mild spicy, their date cookies which I get for my husband every Ramadan, their little pizzas with the soujuk sliced on top (I forget their name). I also bought their kibbeh to cook at home. Everything I've eaten is literally amazing and the people who work their are so sweet and nice. Fresh and delicious! So excited I don't have to drive out to Valley Glen just to get my lamahjeune fix. I ordered lamahjeune, spicy borak, and cheese borak. I also bought these tasty apricot and nut filled pastry. The gal that rung us up was super nice. There is only room for 2 couples to eat there so we went back to our car and ate. The baked items are not bad, pretty tasty and a good idea if you are craving something out of the ordinary. The lahmajin reminded me of the ones I had in Turkey years ago - savory, crispy, and comforting. Beyond that, my first impression at the bakery left something to be desired. First, the lady at the front counter (presumably owner) was not wearing a mask or any other PPE. At the same time two of her friends were chatting with her inside this small bakery with their masks underneath their noses - ah okay. I was asking the owner questions as I studied the menu but she seemed to lose her patience from the get-go. Overall food was good, but customer service was non-existent. I have called multiple times and most of the time when they respond they say they are very busy and they cannot take an order. Or if they can take an order they say that it won't be ready until four or five hours after. When you call to place an order it should be ready in less than an hour just like any other business in the food service not after four hours especially when they are a place that provides breakfast. When you call at 9 am to place an order to pick it up at 10 you should be able to pick it up at 10 am not at 1 pm or 2 PM. They need to adjust their business practices otherwise they will be out of business soon. Imagine calling any other food service business to place an order for pick up and their response to you is "we are too busy, your food order will be ready in 4 hrs" what would you do? Go somewhere else where they can accommodate you. Now a days the consumer has options. read more
