When I have a craving for some lahmajun this is my go to! A nice little spot to pick up a delicious and quick breakfast. There are many other items that I want to try on the menu. Service is fast and food is good, what's not to like?

Fresh Bakery is my go to place to have a light and delicious breakfast, brunch or light dinner too. I really love this bakery and how everything is very fresh. Whatever you order, it is from the oven to you. Sometimes, I have to wait a couple of minutes until my order is ready. Anoush always encourages me to call in advance to have my order ready by the time I arrive. The ladies who are working there are very sweet and friendly. I love their cheese borek, cheese and spinach,  lahmajun, cheese & Soujuk, maneish, beef borek and chicken borek. Their Dolma is so yummy and really delicious. They have also frozen food (kibbe, and Manty) They have also many desserts and Armenian cookies. I really love their dates cookies. It looks like a little crescent or mini Croissants and filled with dates, soooo good. It is a hidden gem in Covina with excellent service and fresh baked food

Love this authentic Armenian bakery. We are so lucky to have it in Covina, because Burbank is too far lol Came here for a snack/ lunch after grabbing coffee down the street and going to Bert's mega mall. The borek was a perfect delight, as was the lahmujan. We sat inside and enjoyed, super fresh and wonderfully warm 1000% recommend

    Best lunch ever!

Consistently amazing bakes and very reasonable prices. This is what home tastes like.

Awesome hole in the wall place that bakes an assortment of Armenian goodies. I only know of places like this in Pasadena and Glendale, so it's nice to see one closer to home. I called in the morning and placed an order for pick up of their Lahmajun. When I arrived everything was ready to go. One of my co-workers also wanted an order so I placed another while I was there. They make everything fresh so I went shopping in the Middle Eastern market next door until the order was ready. I paid and got my full order and even for some cheese bureq for myself and chatted with the lady (Anoush) in the front. Everyone was friendly and I was happy to find out they also make pomegranate paste Lahmajun, so I'll be calling in for that next time. The Lahmajun was for my boss and co worker so I didn't get a chance to try one and didn't have time to do an order for myself, but I heard it was delicious. The cheese byureq I got was very good, so I highly recommend getting that. Definitely worth stopping by here for some authentic Armenian baked goods.

    Desserts and other delicious treat.

Still 5++++ stars. Everything is made fresh, in house, daily. I recently discovered they make "party size" items so you can get smaller lamacun, zatar, etc which are excellent for big gatherings. The date cookies are my latest favorite item. Can beforehand to make sure they aren't sold out! I love this place!!

I usually get their lahmajune ($1.50), manaish ($1.75), and spicy cheese borek ($4.50). They were still making the majority of their breads so they had plenty of manaish and lahmajune out first. Lots of flavors in the manaish, it's great for a quick snack. The lady is nice. They take card. It's located next to Big Lots.

Finally found a place with awesome lamahjun! Don't need to make a special trip to glendale for good middle eastern pastry.

Disclosure: I've enjoyed Mediterranean cuisine ever since I attended elementary school on the UCLA campus in the early '80s and would get after-school Falafels or Shawarma wraps at the eponymous Falafel King in Westwood Village. Suitably armed with 40-pls yrs of dining experience amid the vast Syrian/Lebanese diaspora, what's a common complaint that grouchy naysayers may wanna level at Mediterranean fare? "Ohh, but all they serve are chicken/beef shawarma, falafel balls and lamb gyros! Not enough varieties of protein!!" [I've fielded this complaint from my grown kids for a few years now] Well- Leave it to your enterprising and innovative Uncle Omar to solve that complaint!!! These new brisket wraps are a wondrous hybrid of Mediterranean housing (the flaky but firm Shrek wrap) and All American (B-R-I-S-K-E-T!!) filling. The caliber of the brisket is top notch. Pull apart tendrils of low and slow cooked beef, sumptuously moist but not overly wet. Well seasoned but not deluged in 'cue sauce that obscures the unctuous beefy flavor... Commingle the brisket, lovingly slow cooked for sixteen hours, with diced onions, succulent tomatoes, Persian pickles and their strong-as-a-Rocky-Balboa haymaker garlic sauce...and you've got yourself a crave-worthy, eminently edible new addition to the Family! The ambiance at Abu Omar remains nonpareil. Luminously clean prep area openly visible so the OCDs among us can see their meal lovingly prepared; Sunburnt burgundy brick walls offset by striking Route 66 imagery; Floors so clean you COULD probably get away w/ the "5 second its still edible" rule we usta summon as kids. The service etiquette of Owner Wissam Shloul and his small but devoted staff is exemplary. Great food, meticulously fabricated while you wait. Pro Tip- Need your Mediterranean fix late at night? Fuggetabout "banker's hours," Abu Omar keeps hospital or casino hours! They're open til 1am, nightly. My meal was $19.01 with taxes.

This review is based on my visit on the morning of Valentine's Day…read more This place popped up on a search for coffee in the area. It was only a 2 minute walk from where we were so we decided to check it out. On the outside was a holiday themed drink menu and the Butter Me Up sounded like something we'd enjoy. It was a cookie butter latte which whipped cookie butter and a cookie crumble on top. It may sound very sweet but it was actually perfectly balanced and allowed the strength of the espresso to come through. The barista was very kind and patient with us. She also let us know that they were hosting a karaoke night later that day. We waited in the patio connected to the cafe for our drinks. It was a very lovely day so the sun and scenery was nice and peaceful. Definitely looking forward to another visit

Today, my friend and I ordered a Coke and an ice water and sat in the lounge area to work on assignments. The café was far from full, with only a couple of other people in the lounge and plenty of open seating available. After about an hour, the owner came over and rudely told us we were "holding two tables over a Coke" and pressured us to order more. I understand businesses need customers to make purchases, but there is a respectful way to communicate that. What made the situation worse was that after I ordered a coffee, she immediately turned to my friend and basically stared him down with a strict look, clearly expecting him to order something too. I explained that we were going to split the coffee, because we're both trying to lose weight, but she continued making the situation uncomfortable. Staring down a customer and making them feel pressured to spend more money is not how you treat paying customers. What makes this even more frustrating is that the menu is already severely overpriced for what is offered. On multiple occasions, I've heard the microwave running while food was being prepared. Paying premium prices for what appears to be microwaved food is disappointing enough without being pressured to spend even more. Even though we only ordered a Coke initially, and have only done that once before, we were still spending money. As regular customers who come here often, you would think that would be appreciated rather than criticized. Be thankful people are still choosing to spend money at your business. Honestly, after today's experience, it's no wonder this place is often empty. Customer service and hospitality matter, and making customers feel unwelcome, guilty, or pressured to spend more is a great way to drive them away. The interaction was uncomfortable enough that I asked for my food to be packed to go and left. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. It's a cafe, not a 5 star restaurant. People want to come here to work on assignments or have a coffee and talk. Even though I didn't want to spend 9 dollars on a coffee, I still purchased something. Edit from her Google response: Now you guys see what type of owner she is by her response. Truly, truly a fake person, and we always spend money coming here (now she wants to lie and manipulate since I have her attention). I always purchase a coffee and more, and I have receipts to prove it. I do not use her WiFi for free, as I am not a rude person unlike her. I don't just order a soda like this owner claims; see my receipts on my credit card. My friend and I ordered drinks and were talking and doing assignments for about half an hour (while she and her waiter came up to us like 10 times to ask us to order, even though this is a cafe), even though we said we would order later. If you're broke, just say so, lady. Trust me, at this rate, this place will close down soon. Like I said, this is a cafe where people come to have a drink, relax, talk, study, or work on assignments; not a restaurant where customers are expected to order a full meal every time they sit down. We purchased drinks, planned to order more later, and were still repeatedly approached and pressured to order. Please do yourself a favor and stop lying to the public. I did not come here four times and just use the WiFi. I paid for the WiFi with my extremely expensive and disgusting coffee and food, which is shown below in the receipts. I did not buy $2 sodas every time. The receipts I attached are from my card, but on many of the other visits my friend paid with his card and spent just as much. So trying to claim that we were sitting here for free or only ordering a soda is simply not true. Now that I have proved you wrong in front of the public, I hope everyone sees you for who you are. You are a money-hungry liar! Lastly, you are right; you're not Starbucks. Starbucks would not treat customers that way, and I'd much rather spend my money at Starbucks anyway.Glad we're on the same page!

My husband and I usually order take-out, but on our recent visit, we decided to dine in. We arrived on a Sunday evening (5pm). Parking is shared with other businesses in the plaza. We found one in the shade. The restaurant is small, but they utilize their space well. There are 4 tables and I believe 3 high-top tables as well as outdoor seating. The interior is well-kept and decorated nicely to match the Greek theme. Ordering takes place at the counter, no self-serve kiosk. They have many menu options like sides, gyros, plates, kids menu, family meal, lunch specials, soups, and desserts. My go-to item is their Greek Chicken Pita with Lemon Sauce in place of the tzatziki ($13). I would sometimes order this with a side of fries, but my husband got it in his combo. The reason I order this all the time is because the pita not only tastes amazing, it's also filling! There's grilled chicken, potatoes, pickled onions, greens, and lemon sauce. The pita is thick and has the perfect chew to it. There is so much flavor in every bite! The fries were delicious as well. They were soft on the inside and crisp and seasoned well on the outside. Overall, a great spot for Mediterranean food. I would happily recommend this to anyone!
