They are still 'truckin' along' so I gotta give them props on the feat alone cuz it's hard as hell these days to sustain a quality food service biz. Trust me. Spam Musubi ($11/4*) They make em to order cuz the nori sheet is soft and pliable from the warm rice. A bit heavy on the rice but not bad cuz between the salty spam and a teriyaki glaze drizzle the rice was able to balance that intensity. Also sprinkled with furikake for garnish which I always welcome. You get 2 musubis each cut in half for this price. Poke Bowl ($21/4.5*) Since my last try I definitely sensed a strong improvement. I remember sensing a more bland experience on the first out. But now it was significantly more flavorful. I chose a mix between 2 tuna pokes. 1 standard shoyu and a spicy Korean inspired one. Had to pay an extra $4 for the combo selection which was worth it cuz they do give out a bit more. The standard shoyu one was much more flavored than my first encounter. They definitely add more shoyu so it just has overall better flavor and texture. I could eat this every day. The Korean inspired one I chose because it was spicy without the addition of mayo. Tasted like shoyu and fermented chili paste to me. And with hits of sliced raw onion, some seaweed salad as garnish just brought me back to island vibes brah! So good on a bed of white rice and spring mix lettuce. Ate this outdoors at an event to a dj spinning tunes with some good company and all was IRIE. Fresh Catch imma show ya some love. read more

Caught them at the Gordon Biersch Night Market - solid spot for poke with friendly service! As soon as my boyfriend got his food, I knew I should've got the kalua pork! I could smell it right away and it smelled sooo good. I sampled it and it was flavorful! But my boyfriend said it got salty for him. They have an option of fish to pick for your poke, I got their shoyu tuna, then you can pick if you want rice, salad, or half half. I got full salad and also came with a seaweed salad and crab salad. My office has had this truck come a few times. I've had their poke bowl twice now. So I can in good conscience write an informative review. Color of the truck is inviting as it has bright colors and is just attractive. Really catches the eye. The people who run the truck are always pleasant and welcoming. They have a pretty good assortment of items on their menu. I just can't help but order the poke bowl because I'm a poke fan! The bowl is a great size. You can either choose rice or salad or half and half. I go half and half (for an extra fee). You get a considerable sized scoop of cubed spicy tuna. You also get a good scoop of seaweed salad and imitation crab. Everything is fresh and vibrant in color. I just wish they had wasabi. I'm sure I will order my same ole pole bowl next time they come. Tried the fish and chips while attending the Los Gatos art and wine festival. Service was quick and efficient, the wait for my food about 10 minutes or so, and the worker gave me everything I needed (condiments, napkins, fork) without hesitation. The food was freshly made, served hot, the fish lightly battered and crispy on the outside, tender and flaky inside, and tasty with the tartar sauce it came with. Overall, pretty good poke - tuna was not fishy and very flavorful with hints of sesame oil, but this brings me to one of the drawbacks which was that it was on salty side. Would also say some pieces of the tuna were kinda watery(?) not sure if it was from the defrosting process or the sauce getting absorbed. Good point on the rice - it was actually cooked well and not mushy like a lot of poke places! And the slight warmness of the rice complimented well with the other cold ingredients in the poke. It had a really weird plastic and flour aftertaste like it was fried with plastic or something. Really odd, we couldn't pin it down. Their kalua pork is dry and so is their macaroni salad. They were super inefficient as they only had 1 person taking orders and also giving out orders so the line moved super slow. I ordered the poke bowl with spicy tuna and rice. There was literally like 10 little cubes of tuna, so I basically paid more than $1 per piece of cube of tuna. The rice seemed like it was at least a day old and clumped together. I recently tried Fresh Catch Poke at Nikkei Matsuri in downtown San Jose. Their shoyu ahi tuna is OK, and their prices are what you'd expect from a food truck. They are generous with the portions, but overall, it was just an OK meal. Service took a while because there seemed to be only two people working. The event was from 10am to 5pm, but when I ordered a little before 2pm, I was told that they had run out of both rice and chopsticks. I was fine having just greens as my poke bowl base, but the lack of chopsticks was more frustrating, as this meant I had to line up in another long food line to order something else that would give me chopsticks. The people running the truck are super nice so that's already a big plus. For my order, if I'm remembering correctly, I got a salmon bowl with half rice/half salad, then half shoyu/half spicy. The photo might not give a good concept of relative size, but it was a really nice and big portion that fed me well for two meals. Everything was absolutely on point. Considering I got both bases and both sauce flavors, I guess I got a pretty solid sample of what they have, and I approved of it all. One thing that I really want to highlight was the seaweed salad. I do enjoy a seaweed salad, but I especially enjoyed the one that was provided to me here. I wouldn't normally choose poke from a food truck but since this truck made a stop by my work and I just wasn't feelin' the other options, poke it was! I ordered a half salmon half tuna rice bowl with ponzu sauce. It came loaded with seaweed and a scoop of what appears to be pulverized imitation crab meat. I think the only thing disappointing about this meal was the crab meat. It was just bare fake crab minced up with no flavor or sauce mixed in. All filler in my opinion. Moving onto the star of the dish: the poke! The salmon and tuna were cut up in really small chunks compared to the pictures I had seen on yelp. I prefer my fish chunks a little chunkier. The ponzu sauce was super light, almost didn't taste it. I'd say this is pretty good considering it didn't taste like stale fish. I think what really made this meal was when i doused the rice with sriracha because sriracha is always redeeming. Overall, pretty solid poke bowl.
