I had spoken with the owner at the time--who was very kind--and based on that interaction, I chose to take my earlier review down. Unfortunately, this experience left me just as disappointed as before. I placed an order through DoorDash and received it about 45 minutes later, which I understood since the app noted they were busier than usual. No issue there. The problem started when I checked the receipt on the sealed bag--it had my name and all the correct ingredients listed. However, when I opened it (and it was clearly still sealed, so not a driver issue), it turned out to be someone else's order entirely, with completely different items. This is very similar to my previous experience, where part of my order was missing altogether. At this point, it's hard to justify giving them another chance. It's especially frustrating because the food itself has been great when it's correct. Issues like this point to a lack of quality control, whether that's from insufficient training or not taking enough care when preparing orders. I came in here about 10 minutes after opening and I asked for poke nachos. The girl working said we have poke nachos but the cook isn't here. I had to ask her what does that mean? I was genuinely confused on how a cook has to come make poke nachos, which is just assembled ingredients. She told me to wait 10 minutes and it actually took 20 minutes for the cook to get there. And another 10-15 minutes for them to make it. Every other poke place I have been to trains their employees to know how to make nearly everything on the menu, but specifically for something like poke nachos I am confused on why there needs to be a cook. Got a to go poke bowl yesterday and felt really disappointed. The quality has gone down and they are definitely skimping on the portions. Not to mention the prices. It's not worth for what you're getting. Back then they would load up your bowl for a reasonable price but now, it's a barely filled bowl for $20. The salmon tasted okay, however, the hamachi had a lot of oxidation that I thought they messed up and gave me tuna instead. Not to mention, they served me day old rice. How do I know this? My boyfriend saw the rice cooker had a note that said 2/22 and the rice was dry and a bit crunchy. So sad to see this place go downhill. I used to go here very often when they first opened. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They explained the menu and even accommodated a couple of my special request. I ordered the regular build your own poke bowl with three scoops: Ahi, tuna, salmon, and Hamachi. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. I really love that you can customize your bowl exactly how you like it, from the base to the topping and sauces. One of the highlights was how thoughtful the staff were. There was a song playing in the background and I wanted to Shazam, but I missed it. I asked the staff about that particular song, and they were kind enough to play it again and even showed me the title of the song! Little things like that go a long way. Serving Food for Ants. (Sarcastic) I am all for supporting small neighborhood businesses, but I didn't realize "small business" meant the food portions would be microscopic. I ordered their "large" bowl, which turned out to be the exact size of a side salad bowl. It was roughly 80% white rice and 100% disappointment. For the protein, the server whipped out an ice cream scoop so incredibly small it belonged in a dollhouse. But the real magic trick happened right in front of my eyes. The server scooped up my food, paused, looked at the bowl, and decided I was living too luxuriously. She actually reached in, took two tiny pieces of sushi out of my bowl, and dropped them back into their container. Heaven forbid I get a 13 grams of fish! When I asked for extra sauce to drown my mountain of plain rice, she carefully rationed out a few single drops like it was liquid gold. To top it all off, the register had the audacity to ask for a tip at checkout. I skipped it faster than she snatched that fish back. I will not be back. Its not worth the price! read more

One of my go-to places if I want poke bowls. Typically I get a small bowl with mixed greens, 1 scoop of F&T, 1 salmon, and 1 hamachi. You can get a scoop of crab meat added, no extra charge. The scoop of F&T gets placed in your bowl while the other fish gets placed in a separate bowl so that you can add more sides and sauces to the salmon and hamachi before it getting added to your bowl. Sauces: I get the wasabi ponzu, creamy garlic, and unagi. I've brought friends here and they love that sauce combo as well. I usually get my poke bowl with rice, but the sauces go real well that I actually prefer them with mixed greens instead. You can also get the scoops of fish by the 1/2lb if you want. $20/per lb. Price wise def on the higher than usual, unfortunately. FYI, F&T is on the spicier, and salitier end (prob cause meant to be eaten with rice, and not alone ) and has a kick. I came here on a Saturday around noon. The plaza has a donation bin, so I dropped off some clothing before entering the restaurant. The store was empty during the time, and there are around 5 tables in the store. I ordered the premade Hawaiian bowl while my dad ordered a custom bowl. The custom bowl's smallest size allowed for 3 different scoops of fish. And with the customization of the bowl, my dad's bowl portion ended up being more packed than mine. I'd probably do a custom bowl next time for more bang for my buck. Both the bowls were tasty; the fish and ingredients were all quite fresh. The macadamia nuts in my Hawaiian bowl were a great touch. Fish & Things has super fresh poke and a great variety of sauces/toppings, but for poke, their scoops for fish and veggies are TINY with far steeper prices than their competitors. A regular comes out to basically $20. Yelp check-in gives 5% off though. I'd come back for poke or to try the kitchen items (might be better value), but F&T is not one of my top poke picks. My biggest complaint is there's BARELY any veggies added. You get how much ever the spoon or tongs fit, and if any drops then oh well. This location typically isn't that busy and there isn't too much foot traffic coming in during the times I have came. It's definitely is on the more quiet side.
