The shop is clean, portion size is great! The worker is thorough, double checks everything you want to put into your bowl. They have a notice on their door saying they'll increase their prices starting Jan 1, 2026. However, compared to other poke chains, I still believe Poke House offers the best bang for your buck. Their handrolls are better than other poke places as well. read more

Poke House is an established chain that never disappoints. My friend and I were both craving poke, and this location happened to be the closest one -- and it did not let us down! I ordered a large bowl with brown rice, 2 scoops of garlic oyster tuna, 1 scoop of spicy tuna, and 1 scoop of spicy miso salmon -- plus all the mix-ins and toppings, of course. For sauces, I went with house shoyu, sriracha aioli, garlic soy vinaigrette, and miso aioli (I like my bowl extra saucy!). They really loaded it up, and the scoops of fish were noticeably larger than most other poke spots I've been to. Each fish tasted fresh with no aftertaste, and by the time I was halfway through, I realized I probably could've gone with a medium bowl -- it's a generous portion! There's plenty of seating, but most people just grabbed their order and left. They have soy sauce and wasabi packets for self-serve. Just a heads-up: the wasabi here is strong -- two packets was enough to clear my sinuses with every bite. If you're a wasabi fan, you'll love the quality here. Had my first ever poke experience here and now I'm hooked! According to my best friend, this is one of the best places in San Jose to get fresh poke. I was impressed by how customizable their bowls are and how generous their portions are! I ordered a medium, which comes with 3 scoops and crab salad. I loaded mine up with lots of veggies. Love the zucchini spirals! My favorite fish was the garlic oyster tuna. Yum! They also have so many sauces. As a first time guest, their employees were kind and helpful. I didn't feel rushed at all. Poke house is one of my favorite poke places in SJ ever since I've moved here 8 years ago. I usually always get my usual order of oyster tuna, salmon, tuna, and octopus. I had a disappointing experience today. The employee who took my order "Lara" was rude and didn't seem welcoming. What stood out the most was how she handled the food. She was throwing the serving utensils into the ingredient containers after each scoop including the spicy tuna, cucumbers, and even the sauce ladles. It came across as careless and unprofessional especially when preparing someone's food. I understand places have their own serving procedures but the way the food was handled and the overall attitude made for a poor customer experience. read more

Super bummed it took me so long to like poke because this place is great! My coworkers many moons ago would come here for lunch all the time and I would sit it out, so when I recently was craving poke I remembered this spot and gave it a try! I ordered a medium bowl which was absolutely massive and came with 3 scoops of poke. I went with the ahi tuna, spicy miso salmon, and garlic oyster tuna. I was worried the salmon might be a little too spicy, and the girl working was nice enough to offer me a sample before deciding to go with it! The ingredients were all fresh and flavorful, and I liked that they had such a wide variety of toppings and sauces. So many sauces in fact that it was a little overwhelming having to pick, luckily you aren't limited to just one. Would definitely come back here! read more

I love poké house!!! i've been to this location 5+ times and i've always had good experiences. It's clean inside and there is utensils available for dining in or taking home. However, parking is tough. The parking lot is small and usually filled up. There is some street parking nearby if you don't mind walking. The fish is always fresh and tasty, staff are kind and helpful, and there is always seating available inside. They offer a free scoop of crab, and plenty of toppings to choose from. You can expect to pay at least $20 for a bowl if you get the seaweed salad for an additional cost (which is a must have). Portions are very reasonable too. I'm a loyal poke house fan. read more

Usually our go to for poke since it's close and that we can do an online order for pickup. They have a ton of toppings and the fish always taste fresh. I like that they offer a free scoop of krab salad in each bowl. Lots of different sauces so you can always try something new. The parking lot is small though and seems to always be packed so that's one thing to be mindful of. One time they did forget to sauce one of my bowls but that's been the only hiccup that we've experienced with this place. read more

The seasoning is awful, it's either way too salty or way too spicy. The rice was like a big wet dough cos they put way too much water in it when they made it. Other than that the fish is fresh as least, but its disappointing for sure. read more

Decided to try out Poke House via doordash pick up order. Two of us ordered: -one large poke ball -one small poke bowl -one miso soup Starters...miso soup was not in our order. I thought it was a bit odd that it was left out since they weren't busy. Or if they ran out, they could have said something. Had to spend some more time with Doordash to get a refund for it. All the fish and toppings tasted about the same. Not the freshest fish for sure. We had stomach aches later that night and rolling over into the morning. Overall, on the bland side. Rice was clump and not fresh. I rarely eat any poke outside of Hawaii, and this continues to prove the point. Parking is limited in the small plaza. read more

We decided to check out this location for lunch since we had good experiences with the palo alto location. At first bat the tuna looked questionable, and im glad we were able to get a sample because it was definitely stringy... that's the con with tuna though its rare for it to be fresh anywhere in the bay area. Anyway I went with salmon and enjoyed my bowl, I liked the numerous topping choices especially the fruit (mango and pineapple) and wasabi. Giving a 3 stars because my partner's bowl was a little bland even though he got the pre seasoned salmon... I think we enjoyed the palo alto location better read more

Dasia and An were incredibly rude from the moment I walked in. The customer service was cold, unwelcoming, and it genuinely felt like they didn't want to be there or help anyone. On top of that, the portions they served were surprisingly small compared to what you'd expect, making the experience feel even more disappointing. The entire atmosphere in the store was uncomfortable--the employees made it obvious they hated their jobs, and that negativity carried over to the customers. Instead of feeling welcomed, I felt like I was inconveniencing them just by ordering. I understand everyone has bad days, but professionalism and basic courtesy go a long way. Pretty bummed with my order this time around. I used to come here often pre-pandemic... so it's odd to see how the quality has gone down hill. I ordered a BYO bowl with Scottish Salmon, Brown Rice, Almonds. Crab Salad, and various veggies.... Everything tasted perfectly fine. The mangos were sweet, cucumbers were fresh, and the fish quality was good! Then I got to the brown rice... it was HARD!! Literally unedible. I ended up picking out everything out of the rice. Despite being the only ones in line just before 2 pm everything was SUPER messy. This was 1/3 stations and the other ones were much worse. I've been craving Poké House ever since my trip to Monterey. Now that I finally got the chance to visit again, I went to the Winchester location. Unfortunately, the service was terrible, and the attitude of the worker was genuinely awkward and gut-wrenching. It was one of the most uncomfortable experiences I've had in a long time. The set up of the food looked like it was just thrown around and handled with no care. Never come here unless you want to be treated like garbage. read more

Had lunch here yesterday and it was very filling. They are located in a small strip mall with a small parking lot. We got the last available parking spot. We ordered two medium size poke bowls. Customer service was good. Both bowls were packed full and they were very generous with the proteins. I loved all the options available, especially the my mango and pineapple options. My only complaint was that the spices tuna was crazy salty like it was soaked in soy sauce. We also ordered a drink. We were incorrectly charged for our drink. We talked to the employee about the incorrect charge and they fixed it with no problem. They are very kind employees. The inside was very clean with plenty of seating. My go-to poke place in the South Bay. Build your own bowl with Salmon and imitation crab and throw in a bunch of extras like cucumber, hijiki seaweed, cabbage and edamame, add sriracha aioli and top it off with crispy onions, nori strips and furikake and you have one bomb of a poke bowl Parking can be a b!£@# in the tiny parking lot. read more

My girlfriend ordered online for pick up for 2 small poke bowls around noon time on a Thursday. After picking it up and getting home, I realized that the bowl was made wrong. I had ordered my bowl with the crab salad and it was on the receipt but the bowl did not have it. Not only was it missing the free side of crab salad, the portion size was really small. This was in comparison to the other bowl we had ordered. I believe it was filled less than a third full. This was really upsetting... horrible read more

Ordered from Too Good To Go, because I really hate food waste and thought we'd get a good deal on two chicken bowls. Just like a previous reviewer, (didn't see their review until after I picked up unfortunately) we feel very short changed and misled. $5 each (labeled at a $15 value) for a block of sushi rice and a little bit of chicken. We had to go to Safeway across the street and spend MORE money to actually make these things edible. Staff was friendly, but overall this experience put a bad taste in our mouths (pun intended). I've been here many times but tonight did not go so well. Nothing like being impaled by a fish bone in the back of your gums. You can literally see the blood. My husband also chomped on a huge bone, but luckily the bone didn't attack him. Whoever "de-boned" the salmon tonight needs to either be properly trained or not do it. A fish bone is one swallow away from an ER trip. Please do better, I don't feel like looking for a new poke spot! read more

Really enjoyed my salmon bowl here. Everything tasted fresh and the portions are sure to satisfy. I love their house special chili sauce as well. It had a nice kick to it if you like spice. Staff were friendly and made some key recommendations of what they would add to their bowls. For myself, I would go with salad or rice next time instead of the zucchini noodles which was not my thing. Place is small and cozy, parking is available and can get crowded due to parking is small lot shared with a few other retailers. TLDR: Salmon was not fresh, had a gray/dull look to it, and slimy/crunchy texture. Most of the reviews on here say it was great so I had high hopes! I ordered the Spam Musubi Hand Roll and Build Your Own, Small - 2 Scoops. The Spam Musubi Hand Roll was interesting. It reminded me of how you open and fold an onigiri. It was flavorful and filling for lunch! It was as big as my hand. For the poke, I ordered the Build Your Own with spicy miso salmon and Scottish salmon. I think the poke was old because the first few bites I had was slimy and had a crunchier texture. Maybe it was poke from the day before, not sure. I also requested my sauces on the side since it would have been soggy from the delivery. My sauces were not on the side so the whole bowl was soggy & my lettuce was drenched in sauce. Wasn't as appetizing as I wanted it to be. Pretty disappointed in the quality of the salmon. read more

I'm so sad :( I have been to the other locations on Almaden & Hostetter and I love it! But today, I went to this location over on Winchester for the 1st time and I am disappointed. Found hair in my bowl. Looks like the rice was wrapped around the rice so maybe it got into the rice while washing (hopefully they rinse the rice but idk) and it was prbly cooked with the hair. Yuck. That is all I'll say. I tossed the rest of my bowl away :( It was easy to order online and pick up. But I'm sad there was hair and it grossed me out. Here are a few signature dishes we tried based on our server's recommendations: Bibim Naengmyeon (Handmade Spicy Cold Noodles) These noodles took a little longer to come out, and our server explained why--they don't start making the noodles until you place your order. The dough is pressed fresh in the kitchen before being served, giving the noodles a wonderfully chewy texture. Served with crushed ice, beef, cucumber, egg, and Korean pear, it was incredibly refreshing on a hot day. It's actually pretty rare to find restaurants in the Bay Area still making cold noodles fresh to order. Soy Sauce Marinated Crab I'd always heard that Korean soy sauce marinated crab is one of the country's most beloved seafood dishes and had seen it countless times in K-dramas, so I was excited to finally try it. The crab was well-marinated, with sweet, tender meat that was full of flavor, and even included quail eggs. If you love seafood, this is definitely worth ordering. Stone Bowl Bibimbap The stone bowl arrived still sizzling at the table. Mixed with beef, spinach, carrots, bean sprouts, fernbrake, and a sunny-side-up egg, every bite was delicious. My favorite part was the crispy golden rice that slowly formed at the bottom of the bowl. Gal Nak (Spicy Braised Beef Short Ribs with Octopus) (Mild Spice) This was perfect for sharing. The pot was filled with tender braised beef short ribs, octopus, tofu, rice cakes, enoki mushrooms, and vegetables. As everything simmered together, the rich broth soaked into every ingredient, making each bite even more flavorful. Every table receives a generous selection of Korean side dishes, including kimchi, japchae, fish cake, cucumber, pickled radish, seaweed, and more. Our server even came by to ask if we wanted free refills before we had to ask, which made the whole dining experience feel very welcoming. Besides the food, I also loved the atmosphere. Right at the entrance is a row of traditional Korean fermentation jars, and the restaurant is decorated with Korean-style ornaments throughout the space. The owner also stopped by to chat with guests and mentioned that he personally shops for fresh ingredients every morning to keep the food consistent in quality. Yes! This place is great! I've been coming here for a few years now. It's basically a poke Chipotle (ie make your own poke) place. They have a few varieties of protein, lots of vegetables, and lots of sauces that can be mixed and matched. It's great! The fish is supposedly fresh except on Sundays (which is a day I came on, boo), and the vegetables tasted fresh as well. It was great! It's definitely worth the price for the quantity served. You get 3 scoops of fish (although the scoops are small), but you can pile as much vegetables as you want on top. I got half rice half salad as my base, which was great. It was somewhat odd eating warm salad though. I would recommend this place, and I'll definitely keep coming back! Come on off-peak hours though, otherwise you might need to wait and have trouble parking (it shares a parking lot with a bunch of other places in the plaza, and the parking lot is always packed during peak hours). read more

I am writing this review after my wife has had a terrible experience at this place. When she asked few times to add items to her order, the serve told her "to zip her mouth" and left without completing the order. She she said that she will complain, the server said that he doesn't care. I hope that the owner of this business will check the surveillance video at around 8:450pm on Sunday to have a good picture how his employee treat customers with young children. I will wait for a day to get a response before moving on to the next step as I know this business inside out with its vulnerability and I hope I don't have to go down that route as this situation is just requires a reprimand of the employee and apologies to the customer, who came late night to buy food for the family. Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant dining experience at the restaurant today. The quality of the food was quite disappointing. The lettuce was old and slimy, and the tuna was dry and hard. They failed to include the side sauces I had specifically requested. Regrettably, we suffered from instant stomach discomfort after consuming the meal. Perhaps this was a result of opting for delivery instead of dining in. Tried Poke House recently and overall had a solid experience. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors came together nicely, and definitely satisfying if you're craving a poke bowl. That said, it's on the pricier side, and I found myself wishing the portions were a bit more generous for the price. He aggressively told my dad to turn off the phone, even though the volume had already been lowered and my dad was complying. The interaction felt hostile and intimidating. From that point on, we felt extremely uncomfortable. The owner continued to stare at us and discuss the situation with staff while we were trying to finish our meal. Rather than stay and enjoy the rest of our dinner, we decided to leave. In more than 10 years of dining here, we have never experienced anything like this. We understand that noise complaints can happen and would have gladly cooperated, as we already did. What was upsetting was the way the situation was handled by the owner. Long-time customers should be treated with respect, and unfortunately, that was not our experience. Because of how we were treated, we will not be returning.

Back again for happy hour…read more Like this place bc they're super friendly and accommodating. You do need to speak a lil Spanish bc they have Spanish speakers servers but i think it makes it fun. When I received my order, the first thing that stood out to me was the presentation. Everything was neatly arranged, colorful, and looked incredibly fresh. The vibrant reds and pinks from the tuna and salmon paired beautifully with the bright green avocado and wakame. It looked so appetizing that I couldn't wait to dig in. The portion size was also very generous -- definitely filling and well worth it. After taking my first bite, I immediately understood why poke bowls are such a popular choice. The fish tasted fresh and high-quality, and you could tell it wasn't just thrown together. Decent quantity and I feel like their portions here are more fair than their other locations, but it still does not justify their prices. Quality is just okay - the salmon could had been a bit more fresh.
