First timer to Poke House overall, walking in my friend explained to me how to order, but the worker John also helped out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was quick and overall great, sitting down and eating was nice as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a small bowl and chose spicy salmon for both scoops, it was delicious!

My bowl in the front was a large and the bowl behind it was a medium; both were fully loaded!

Poke House is an established chain that never disappoints. My friend and I were both craving poke, and this location happened to be the closest one -- and it did not let us down! I ordered a large bowl with brown rice, 2 scoops of garlic oyster tuna, 1 scoop of spicy tuna, and 1 scoop of spicy miso salmon -- plus all the mix-ins and toppings, of course. For sauces, I went with house shoyu, sriracha aioli, garlic soy vinaigrette, and miso aioli (I like my bowl extra saucy!). They really loaded it up, and the scoops of fish were noticeably larger than most other poke spots I've been to. Each fish tasted fresh with no aftertaste, and by the time I was halfway through, I realized I probably could've gone with a medium bowl -- it's a generous portion! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's plenty of seating, but most people just grabbed their order and left.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have soy sauce and wasabi packets for self-serve. Just a heads-up: the wasabi here is strong -- two packets was enough to clear my sinuses with every bite. If you're a wasabi fan, you'll love the quality here. Overall, great portions, super fresh fish, and friendly service. I'll definitely be coming back!

Had my first ever poke experience here and now I'm hooked! According to my best friend, this is one of the best places in San Jose to get fresh poke. I was impressed by how customizable their bowls are and how generous their portions are! I ordered a medium, which comes with 3 scoops and crab salad. I loaded mine up with lots of veggies. Love the zucchini spirals! My favorite fish was the garlic oyster tuna. Yum! They also have so many sauces. As a first time guest, their employees were kind and helpful. I didn't feel rushed at all. Can't wait to return!

Poke house is one of my favorite poke places in SJ ever since I've moved here 8 years ago. I usually always get my usual order of oyster tuna, salmon, tuna, and octopus. I love their sauces of sesame oil and shoyu. I recently started getting the creamy aioli on the side for some creaminess taste. Overall I really enjoyed this poke house

Super bummed it took me so long to like poke because this place is great! My coworkers many moons ago would come here for lunch all the time and I would sit it out, so when I recently was craving poke I remembered this spot and gave it a try! I ordered a medium bowl which was absolutely massive and came with 3 scoops of poke. I went with the ahi tuna, spicy miso salmon, and garlic oyster tuna. I was worried the salmon might be a little too spicy, and the girl working was nice enough to offer me a sample before deciding to go with it! The ingredients were all fresh and flavorful, and I liked that they had such a wide variety of toppings and sauces. So many sauces in fact that it was a little overwhelming having to pick, luckily you aren't limited to just one. Would definitely come back here!

My most ordered food item on DoorDash is Poke House's California hand rolls. They are beyond delicious. Such a great option for a quick and filling meal. There ingredients feel fresh, clean, and focused on providing nutritious options that still have great flavor. Their poke bowls are also a great option. They are customizable, allowing you to pick and choose what you want. Overall, very time efficient and delicious.

I love poké house!!! i've been to this location 5+ times and i've always had good experiences. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's clean inside and there is utensils available for dining in or taking home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, parking is tough. The parking lot is small and usually filled up. There is some street parking nearby if you don't mind walking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The fish is always fresh and tasty, staff are kind and helpful, and there is always seating available inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They offer a free scoop of crab, and plenty of toppings to choose from. You can expect to pay at least $20 for a bowl if you get the seaweed salad for an additional cost (which is a must have). Portions are very reasonable too. I'm a loyal poke house fan.

The seasoning is awful, it's either way too salty or way too spicy. The rice was like a big wet dough cos they put way too much water in it when they made it. Other than that the fish is fresh as least, but its disappointing for sure.

Great tasting poke. One of my first ever poke was from poke house and I still enjoy it today! I enjoy mine with spicy tuna and spicy salmon with extra house chili. Recommended!

We decided to check out this location for lunch since we had good experiences with the palo alto location. At first bat the tuna looked questionable, and im glad we were able to get a sample because it was definitely stringy... that's the con with tuna though its rare for it to be fresh anywhere in the bay area. Anyway I went with salmon and enjoyed my bowl, I liked the numerous topping choices especially the fruit (mango and pineapple) and wasabi. Giving a 3 stars because my partner's bowl was a little bland even though he got the pre seasoned salmon... I think we enjoyed the palo alto location better

Poke House is my favorite and have been to a handful of locations. On a very hot day, poke hit the spot and this location packed in the ingredients. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fairly large seating inside and lots of folks coming in especially for pickup orders.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The parking lot here is quite tight so come at an off peak time to nab some parking.

Eric T.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Despite being the only ones in line just before 2 pm everything was SUPER messy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This was 1/3 stations and the other ones were much worse.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I cannot imagine potential shortcomings in the food prep if this is how the forward facing product is presented. Super carefree and disappointing considering the food quality.

Aloha Fresh has the right to claim its freshness!…read more I have been coming to this spot for years and truly believe the quality has not declined at all. All their fish is so clean, all the flavors are bold without overwhelming the true essence of the tuna, salmon, or shrimp, and this is definitely the closest thing you can get here in San Jose comparable to Hawaii. This spot is located in the strip of Japantown, downtown, and has limited parking if you're going on a weekend, as a heads up. The store itself is small and is more of a grab-and-go with no seating. You enter and head straight to the back to order with their staff, and then once they pack everything up, you pay at the counter. You can order their poke bowls, hot bar food (which is pretty delicious - I like the salt and vinegar chicken), their poke nachos (which are trending, but it's not my favorite), and/or you can buy poke by weight (¼ lb-1 lb increments), which is what I usually do. At the end, you can also order musubis or their butter mochis (actually so bomb)! They have a variety of poke flavors you can try, but I will say my favorites are the Kalbi and the Smokey poke, those are the most unique. Overall, this is the number one spot I recommend for people to go when they stop by SJ!

I had spoken with the owner at the time--who was very kind--and based on that interaction, I chose to take my earlier review down. Unfortunately, this experience left me just as disappointed as before. I placed an order through DoorDash and received it about 45 minutes later, which I understood since the app noted they were busier than usual. No issue there. The problem started when I checked the receipt on the sealed bag--it had my name and all the correct ingredients listed. However, when I opened it (and it was clearly still sealed, so not a driver issue), it turned out to be someone else's order entirely, with completely different items. This is very similar to my previous experience, where part of my order was missing altogether. At this point, it's hard to justify giving them another chance. It's especially frustrating because the food itself has been great when it's correct. Issues like this point to a lack of quality control, whether that's from insufficient training or not taking enough care when preparing orders. Poke isn't cheap, so when mistakes like this happen--especially more than once--it's incredibly disappointing. Sadly, this will likely be the last time I order from here.

We come often and get a large amount of poke and their quality always meets expectations every time. It's only window ordering (and not a sit down restaurant) so wait times can get a little lengthy with many people coming during lunch breaks and with it just being a popular place. I definitely recommend to order through their website online before you start driving! I always get to skip in front of the pick up line and just pick up my food when I arrive. Their parking lot only has about 7 spots and is almost always full but the spots can open up quick with everyone coming in and out. There's a lot of street parking too. The environment is great here. Price is pretty steep for something like this. The owner or person taking our order seemed like a confident or very straight forward / strong type personality, which I'm fine with because I naturally have a bit of a strong personality as well so it didn't bother me, although it would've been better if he smiled or something so it doesn't seem like he's coming off like a New Yorker. Just sayin. But I also know that he's simply doing his job so it's nothing personal. Anyhow, the food he talked a good game on it being the best in the Bay Area turned out to be quite mid IMPO. The shrimp was 100% overcooked, the side Mac salad was actually *not* good at all and it sucks because that's something I feel like you can't mess up but it was gross unfortunately, I spat it out even tho I hate wasting food. It just didn't taste freshly made whatsoever. The poke bowl wasn't comparable to Hawaii since he mentioned it's just as good... but honestly I think everyone's taste buds are different because to me, the poke bowl was totally mid, but it could taste really good to someone else and that's certainly OK! Also -- I like salty things esp when I crave for it but this was quite heavy on the salt, which made my experience the way it was. Even though it could've been better, I came with no expectations and just wanted to see what the fuss was about. That said, the only thing that was good was the rice cracker snack we bought and that's it. Glad I still gave this place a try, but personally for me, it's definitely my last visit. Maybe I'll come back at an earlier time to get one of their strawberry mochi but other than that, I think I'll rest my case here.

I got the large bowl with the soba noodle option (my first time getting it). This was like any other poke places, but the toppings offered were a lot more! I like that they had, mango, pineapple, radish, tomatoes, and chicharrones. And I LOVED that avocado, crab salad, and seaweed salad were already included in the price. I got the last of the soba noodles, so I was surprised that even though it was closing, she went into the back to get me more soba noodles even though it seemed like the amount she had given me was enough. they also allowed however many sauces you wanted to marinate the fish in. I chose unagi, the house sauce and ponzu. I also asked for spicy mayo drizzle at the end. my brother got the wasabi mayo but he said he barely tasted the wasabi when mixed in. total came out to be around $40 for two large bowls. I wasn't sure what I was expecting for the soba noodles, but I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed it. the sauces from the marinade seeped into the noodles gave it a nice light flavor. the fish was fresh and chicharrones were such a good contrast with the crunch (im a huge textures girl). I was able to eat half and and save the other half for lunch the next day. because I got soba noodles, I did not have to worry about heating up rice and separating the fish, so it was perfect.
