Arriving on a Friday to meet for dinner, I was early and took my place in the barroom. There's also a front room and a back for dining. There is so much Buffalo memorabilia here, you would never get bored looking at it. The friendly tender gave me a beer and a greeting. As the group arrived, some kind people moved down so we had more seats. We asked for a 6 top and were happy to wait a bit. The place filled up. I noticed a number of neighborhood residents who had walked or biked over. We were sat and brought fresh drinks. I never mind a wait on a busy night as long as the server checks in and keeps up on the drinks. We did wait about an hour which is a little much when your glass is empty. I'd give 5 stars but, we were left looking for either a drink or dinner. When we were served, everything was great. I had a standard fish fry, fries & slaw. The fish was delicious and the sides were good. The fish burrito was a nice alternative and the vegetarian in our group enjoyed the impossible burger. In the past, I've had the lamb melt and it's definitely worth mentioning. As it's located right across from the zoo, parking can be tricky but, it's worth the effort.

I will admit service was a bit slow and after receiving our cocktails we had to ask our server for water multiple times and I ultimately never received mine. The menu was pretty expansive but my son and I opted for some traditional western NY items including wings and beef on weck. The cocktails were excellent and food was good, but not great. The menu said it included cole slaw but mine came with pickled onions. Tasted good though not what I expected. The fries were cooked perfectly. Beers were great. Seeing as I'm a Yelp-er, they wanted me to find a spot I hadn't been to yet, even though I had eaten dinner already on my own. I had The Ridge West Seneca saved in my "Places to Try" collection so I said let's go. Overall, I cannot wait to go back and grab a meal here and try the food for myself! We arrive just before 8pm on a Saturday night to a large gravel parking lot that was pretty busy, but we still found a spot pretty easily. We walked in and the hostess was able to seat the two of us at a booth right away! Inside it was very spacious with plenty of TVs going, a bar on one side, music playing overhead. Indoor noise was elevated (it's a restaurant that has a bar, it's going to not be quiet haha) but the two of us could carry on a conversation fairly normally. Our waitress came over immediately to let us know she'd be a few minutes as there were a few other tables she was handling. Fine by us as that allowed my buddy ample time to look over the menu and figure out what he wanted. I saw the St. Patrick's Day-themed cocktail specials menu so I knew what I was ordering. Our waitress though - Absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly friendly, had great personality, and was really accommodating in splitting the check (I took care of all our drinks, my friend took care of his dinner). Our waitress did a great job checking in on us at the perfect time, we never felt pressured, rushed. I didn't order any food but my friend ordered their Steakhouse Strip off the "Large Plates" section of the menu, and boy oh boy, did that look amazing! The 12-ounce strip was cooked to a picture-perfect medium-rare with plenty of tobacco onions on top and around the plate, and served over a generous bed of mashed potatoes and asparagus, served with a small cup of their A1 aioli. After seeing that, I certainly want to come back and order food. My friend really enjoyed their meal, the plate was clean! As for me, I ordered two St. Patrick's Day -themed cocktails: "Sham Rocked Shake" and "Irish Good Bye". The "Sham Rocked Shake" was vanilla vodka, crème de menthe, cream, and chocolate syrup and curls - This was creamy, delicious, not overly minty. The "Irish Good Bye" was Three Chord bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Nonino, and lemon juice with a lime wedge - There was so much flavor in this cocktail, the lemon juice added a pleasant fruity 'punch'. Looking at the prices for these cocktails, I felt they were in-line with most other places and they were made well so no complaints from me. The Ridge West Seneca really surprised me! I've driven past it a few times and wondered how good it was. From our friendly waitress and service, the delicious cocktails, to the fantastic-looking food, I am impressed. I'm looking forward to coming back soon for another night of drinks and to try some food!
