Eyelash or hair on desi salad
    Breez A.

We ordered 2 curries, mango lassi, Nan, and a desi salad. It was our first time ordering and the curries + Nan looked great! Unfortunately the desi salad had no seasonings and was just cut up vegetables with lemon slices. I had to add my own salt to it. While mixing up the vegetables I noticed that there was a tiny hair or eyelash on the cucumber. It really ruined our appetite :( didn't want to eat the curry after seeing that.

Tried this place out for the first time on a Friday night. We're not experts on Indian cuisine but the service and food was great! Prices were reasonable as well. The restaurant was clean with some interesting artwork. Only 2 other parties there, so we were seated immediately. Seemed like a good number of people came by for takeout. Chana masala rice bowl $12.99 Paneer Tikka masala rice bowl $13.99 Garlic naan $4.49

This is probably my fourth time here and every time has been spectacular. The food is so amazing, the butter chicken with the saag naan is the way to go. Vishwas is a great host and very hospitable. He's very nice to talk to and makes you feel at home. Please don't skip this spot, it's too good to miss out on.

Yummmmmy. Local as can be. Casey is the nicest waiter ever and so friendly. We got the monsoon for two dinner and it was a perfect size. I'm veggie and my bf eats meat so it was nice that he could get lamb and I got Chana masala and it came with naan, rice, veggies, dal and more. It may be my new fav Indian in VC. Def for Camarillo!!!

Ordered take out from this restaurant finally after years of saying "I've got to try this spot". My review is strictly for my takeout experience as I wasn't able to speak to the service or atmosphere of the restaurant. Initially I was impressed with the many food options available through their website. The menu is extensive and had a little bit of everything that I like. It was a great first impression seeing that their were options. The pricing I thought was average, a little higher for me but the portions were good and so was the flavor, that this helped cancel out the cost factor a little bit for me and would not detour me from coming back. Also for take out I can appreciate when the packages are wrapped safely and neatly. Plus they didn't forget any items so an easy A+ for a delivery / takeout experience. The food here was good but maybe I had too high of expectations for this spot after all these years of reading reviews and wanting to go? I think for Camarillo it's an easy 5 stars as were limited for good Indian food in this city and for convenience & being tasty, I get why the reviews are so awesome. However, given that there are a good amount of indian restaurants up and over the grade, I didn't feel that this spot fully competed with my local spots in Newbury and Thousand Oaks. In comparison that's where I ranked this spot more of a 4/5. Still really good don't get me wrong, just wouldn't be my first go to choice and that's totally okay. The dishes I had were simple but classic. Went with butter chicken, white rices, and chicken tikka masala. Basic dishes I know, but that's the minimum standard of dishes to help me assess how much I'll like a spot. I will say the portion size was great and I love how saucy these dishes are, they don't skimp. A good amount of chicken and the rice was enough to have multiple servings. Both chicken dishes had good flavor and were spiced well. My biggest criticism was that the butter chicken and tikka masala were literally almost identical. I get naturally they are similar because of the spices and flavors, but this was almost like eating two of the same dishes, a little disappointed. Had they not labeled the containers I would have sworn they just gave me two of the same dishes, but they was not the case. I get both of these dishes at other restaurants all of the time and there is always a distinct flavor and coloring of the dishes that is noticeable, here just too similar for me. All that to say I won't order both dishes here at once and will be more mindful to get something with variety next time. All in all the food is good and it's really nice to have an Indian option in Camarillo with how limited we are. I will definitely be back to try some more dishes and excited to report back if going a little more adventurous helped up the score on this spot.

This restaurant holds a very special place in my heart. It started with a visit to their restaurant to try some of their delicious food. I was thoroughly impressed with how fresh and tasty their food is! This visit coincided with my wedding planning - and one day it struck me that I'd love for Fresh Curry Chefs to cater dessert for my wedding day. The team here is AWESOME. Kiran and Yash are the kindest, most genuine, hard working people. They worked closely with us to carefully curate our wedding dessert bar, pick and order dessert packaging that would match our aesthetics, and everything in between. We kept in close contact with them throughout the process, and they always answered any questions we had for them promptly. And let me tell you, our dessert bar was a HIT! People raved about all the desserts. Our only regret is that we wished we ordered much, much more for our guests! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to Yash, Kiran, and their whole team for such a seamless and successful wedding treat. I will forever come back to this place and eat from here, because it's simply the best!

I should have made the review before, to remind me that it's not worth it. The service was ok. Our waitress tried her best. She might be better off writing down what people ordered instead of trying to remember things, she missed three things with our party. First, my niece asked, before ordering a pancake combo, if she could get one pancake made with just blueberries and one with just chocolate. Waitress came back and said yes, but that's all she told us.. Second, my wife ordered her corn beef hash with home style potatoes. Instead, the order came to the table with hash browns. I tried her corn beef hash, it was one of the worse ever. Definitely canned stuff, and not made right. It's like someone thought they could make it, so they must went ahead and did it. Third, I ordered a standard burger with onion rings, it came out with fries. For my order, I told the waitress and she got this corrected right away. The burger was just ok. The bun was nice and buttered, brioche. The meat was juicy and cooked medium as requested. It was under-seasoned, but was okay for me as I usually try to get low sodium, but this makes it taste incomplete. Let's talk about my niece's pancakes though, they came out mixed, both blueberries and chocolate in both pancakes instead of two separate pancakes. And when the bill came, I was charged extra charge for each thing. $3 for the chocolate. $3 for the blueberries. Plate came out over $22, that's crazy. Inside is decently clean and large. Lots of space, although maybe it was because we came in a weekday early at 8:45. Anyway, skip it, not worth it. I prefer the local IHOP.

Do NOT skip the mojo potatoes or the hash cake, they're both top-tier sides. Food is definitely the star here. In our experience the drinks are just OK. We were ready for some hot breakfast, quickly looked at restaurants near me , got off the freeway at the next exit because "Hidden Cafe" popped up. Good reviews, 3 minutes away. We arrived at the same time as another party, they had 4. 3 adults 1 highchair. The rude , older lady with dark hair asked how many we had after them, than jumped back to that group and asked where they wanted to sit, etc. Sat them immediately. Outside. They got asked drinks immediately. Clearly she was overwhelmed two parties walked in at the same exact time. Now I have worked in the restaurant industry for many years, I was a waitress. I 100% understood why she may of been overwhelmed at that moment. 2 groups walking in at the same time, my group being a party of 6. 4 kids 2 adults. We were patient and waited for about 5 minutes before she sent the young busser kid out to seat us. I was holding my puppy in a dog carrier , I asked if we could sit outside. There is a sign on the door that says no dogs inside dining area. He said "no there is a table in the back at the inside patio" I pointed to the sign, said "I have a dog" he said "it's okay" so we walked in and sat down. We picked what we wanted to drink, we picked what we wanted to eat, all in our heads though. Because NOBODY ever came to us once we were sat down! My daughter was able to finish a whole coloring page before anyone even walked over to us. That's coloring in the lines and no scribbling. Not even a quick snotty "I'll be right with you" we didn't get 1 word. A bunch of ignores and glares. The server walked to an already established checked out table next to us to refill their drink, we didn't even have water let alone a hello. The dishwasher looked confused why we were the ONLY table in the whole entire place not being helped. The young boy who sat us, looked confused. We got up and left. The blonde server and the dark hair rude old lady , STILL didn't say a word when we walked past them to leave. Rest assured, they ran to where we sat to see what we left. Weird they all knew where the table was when we weren't sitting there. This crap of a service can stay hidden. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!!! I have NEVER been treated this way. I have NEVER walked out of a restaurant after I have sat down. We have never felt so uncomfortable, and unwelcomed in a restaurant. So thank you, hidden cafe for the most unexpected, rudest experience of our vacation.

On top of all that, they gave me a senior discount, which was much appreciated. I had just left Denny's where I had paid for a tea I didn't even get to enjoy, due to being ignored after waiting about 30 minutes for someone to take my order - after they were taking orders for those seated after me and made me aware they knew I was still waiting - but still did not take my order. Then one of the Denny's employees was actually smug about it, saying when I went to the register to pay for the tea, "Hey...it happens sometimes," while grinning as if it was funny. It remains a mystery if he ignored me because I am a senior, I was not of a background he liked, or he didn't think my one meal would give him enough of a tip, but he was unprofessional and he made sure I won't ever return to Denny's. I do thank him, though, because if he hadn't been such a jerk, I wouldn't have gotten frustrated enough to leave and try to find a place where I could have that good first meal of the New Year - at Country Harvest. His rudeness led me to finding Country Harvest and I am not at all surprised that your restaurant was busy on New Year's Day and Denny's wasn't. Now that I know you're the place to go, you've won my business going forward and I will happily recommend you to others. Thank you so much for truly making my day! As for Denny's losing a customer, "Hey...it happens sometimes."

Had a wonderful country breakfast this morning in Camarillo. Gabriel was my server and came shortly after I recieved my coffee and took my order. I ordered the California Omelet with sliced tomatoes and an English muffin. The food came out nice, hot and tasty. The service was fantastic as was the ambiance and of course the food. Highly recommended

The most difficult part was picking what to get! Latte was tasty but a bit too sweet for my liking. The turkey sausage bagel sandwich was so tasty! I chose the jalapeno cheddar bagel for my sandwich - it was really good, but a bit too spicy for my liking. Service was good.

Note: This is only a review of the Lemon Pound Cake. The food and service here are amazing - get…read moresome. 3 GENERATIONS OF POUND CAKE DATA I grew up eating pound cakes baked by three generations of women who poured their souls into every soft, buttery, rich loaf. To me, that is what pound cake is supposed to be: simple, flavorful, comforting, and made with care. LEMON IN THE TITLE (NO SO MUCH IN THE CAKE) Unfortunately, the lemon pound cake I purchased today for over $15 did not come close to that standard. The color, flavor, and dense, bready interior all pointed to a missed opportunity. I was especially disappointed that the lemon flavor lacked brightness. There was no real sense of lemon zest in the cake or icing, which is what gives a lemon pound cake its character and lift. ICING - EPIC UNDERPERFORMANCE The icing also fell flat. Instead of tasting like a thoughtful glaze or cream cheese-style icing infused with lemon, it came across more like powdered sugar and water sitting on top of the cake. It checked the box visually, but it did not enliven the cake or the senses. NO FUTURE SALE HERE (UNLESS THE PRODUCT IMPROVES) For $15, I should have been excited to come back for another one and maybe pick one up for a friend. Sadly, that was not the case. I would love to see this store put more care into honoring the pound cake tradition with excellence, because pound cake lovers know the difference.
