    Tom Yum Fried Rice
    Cheryl R.

On a warm night in January (thanks to the Santa Ana winds) we wanted a Thai salad, and Mama's papaya salad did not disappoint. Crunchy papaya, green beans, peanuts and cabbage with succulent shrimp in a tangy lime dressing hit the spot. Tom Yum fried rice was steamy and tasty with basil, sweet onion and red peppers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is casual and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was proficient. Prices are reasonable.

Ist time ordering from this location. I ordered orange chicken and a noodle dish for pickup. The chicken didn't have ANY sauce on it. Just fried chicken pieces. Idk if they forgot it or it was supposed to come on the side? The chicken pieces were good, just no sauce at all :(

At the corner- food At the corner- food not bad, had lunch specials. Service okay. Good

So good, the pad Thai was great! Chicken Gyoza was good. But the chicken satay was probably the best chicken satay I've ever had. Love this place it will now be a staple for me every time I come to Camarillo. Absolutely delicious. Good service too! Helpful and attentive

Lunch special chicken yellow curry with salad, egg roll and brown rice

I remember really enjoying Rice by Mama in Ventura but the Camarillo location doesn't make it memorable for me. I brought my aunt and cousin here who are visiting from Korea and this location was great for a spot that serves lunch specials and is close by to the Camarillo outlets. There's lots of parking and there are a good amount of diners in the restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor was nice and I do recall the customer service being top notch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the lunch special with chicken in yellow curry that comes with a salad, egg roll and brown rice. I also got unsweetened ice tea for my beverage. I think the flavor of my yellow curry was OK but maybe too sweet for my expectation. I might give this place another try and order a different entree instead :)

Upon walking in on a Sunday evening, our party of two was promptly seated. The restaurant is located in the corner of the plaza, offering plenty of parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was decorated with charming starry night-themed paintings, which I believe were done by local artists.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There were three waitresses managing the entire floor. We started with the crab rangoon appetizer, which arrived quickly and tasted fantastic. It had the perfect ratio of imitation crab and cream cheese to wrapper. The sweet and sour sauce was exactly as described--delicious. I would absolutely order this again. The chicken pad Thai was exceptional! It had the ideal balance of savory, sweet, and tangy flavors. I thoroughly enjoyed the portion size, which made the dish well worth the price. The chicken was perfectly cooked--not too dry and not underdone. The only reason I deducted one star was due to the servers being extremely busy, which made it challenging to get their attention. Additionally, one server cleared our plate before we finished. She likely assumed we were done with the crab rangoon, but we had wanted to try the small salad that came with the dish. That said, the staff was polite and pleasant during our interactions.

Best Thai spot in Camarillo! Here are some photos of my favorite dishes. They are all bussin, bursting with that umami flavor. Everything comes out nice, hot, and fresh. I enjoy seeing the staff and cooks. Gap is awesome and takes great care of us every time we go.

Papaya Salad with Shrimp (MUST GET), Pumpkin Curry with Chicken (one of the best I've had!)

There's a lot to love here--fresh ingredients, friendly service, and some absolute standout dishes--but a couple of missteps held it back from being a perfect 5 (Closer to 3.5-4) The Ambiance [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super clean, modern, and bright. It's a small space tucked inside a shopping center next to Cronie's, and although it feels a bit cramped, it's still warm and inviting. Perfect for a casual lunch or a cozy dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Service The staff is friendly and attentive! You can tell they care about their food and customers. This Camarillo location is far better than the Ventura one in terms of freshness and overall experience IMO. The Food Fresh, flavorful with generous portions! Their shrimp and chicken are perfectly cooked, and I love that they go the extra step to completely de-vein their shrimp. I'm aways surprised by how many Thai places don't do that. HERE'S WHAT WE DEVOURED: Pumpkin Curry with Shrimp THE STAR OF THE SHOW. One of the best pumpkin curries I've ever had! The pumpkin is melt-in-your-mouth soft, the curry is a perfect blend of nutty, sweet, and savory, and the veggies are fresh and perfectly cooked. This dish alone is reason enough for me to come back! Papaya Salad with Shrimp Bright, Fresh, and MASSIVE! The lime juice is super fresh. My biggest ick is when lime juice sits out too long and the entire dish tastes bitter as a result. Not here! The balance of flavors is spot on. The shrimp is BIG! Definitely one of the best papaya salads I've had in a while. A must-order! Pad Thai with Chicken This was sadly a "meh" for me as it is missing flavor! While the portion was super generous, the flavors didn't quite pop the way I hoped. It was a little on the dry side, and I found myself wishing for more sauce and caramelization to bring it all together. Still fresh, but definitely needs tweaking! Drunken Noodles with Beef Disappointing. Normally one of my favorite dishes, but this one was a miss. The beef was tough, and the noodles lacked that deep, caramelized wok-kissed flavor that makes drunken noodles amazing. Hoping they can amp this up along with their Pad Thai. Thai Iced Tea with Boba Perfectly sweet, super creamy, and the boba was fresh and chewy. No complaints here! Spice Level Note We ordered everything at Medium Spice, but it's spicier than most at this level! (which I love!) So if you're debating between Mild and Medium, go Mild to be safe. While the Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles fell flat, the Pumpkin Curry and Papaya Salad were absolute knockouts. I have a strong feeling this place excels at curry dishes (not so much noodle dishes) and I'm excited to try other curries here.

Pad Thai! So full of flavor. I totally forgot to take a picture before diving in

Why I haven't I tried this place before??? So good and flavorful. We started with chicken satay and it was beyond! From the chicken to the peanut sauce to the cucumbers! So full of flavor. And then I had Pad Thai with tofu. This is my standard that I compare with. Beyond tasty. They also serve a ton of food so we have lunch today!

Ordered online and still had to wait 30 more minutes. It's slow but for some reason backed up.

    Ginger Stir-Fried Beef

I've been to one of the Rice by Mama locations in Ventura and remember having a great experience, so was excited to see that they opened a location in Camarillo. It's tucked away in the corner of the mall so it might be a little difficult to find. We came for lunch on the weekend and it wasn't too busy. I think they were short-staffed though because it took a little bit of time to be seated. We ordered the ginger stir-fried beef, which comes with a side of jasmine rice, as well as the talay thai. The ginger stir-fried beef was a pretty standard stir-fried dish. It's a lighter dish, so might balance it out nicely if you are sharing with the table and have some dishes with stronger flavors. We also decided to try the talay thai, which is a seafood dish with slight hints of curry flavor. There was a reasonable amount of seafood, which didn't taste particularly fresh but wasn't terrible either. It tastes okay with rice, but by itself is very very salty. It's pretty expensive as well, so I would probably pass on this one. Service is a little on the slower side, but I could tell they were trying their best given how short-staffed they were. You can't go wrong if you're craving Thai, but nothing particularly stood out to me.

In my humble opinion our experience really deserves a 3.5. We were expecting this location to be as good as the OG Ventura location. The positives are the food comes out quick and fresh. The spicy fried rice was flavorful but not spicy. Our food didn't come out how we ordered it. I asked for no egg on the Pad Thai it had egg in it, there was also no peanuts in it. :( We wanted to love it, maybe it was an off Sunday night.

Best Thai food in Camarillo. Drunken noodles with Sea are to die for, and the Avocado curry is excellent swell.

Full bar w/March Madness game playing on the TV. Greater promptly and friendly. We had the shrimp only #3 Spring Rolls. Hubby had 31B, Chicken & Basil over brown rice. I had the #38 Crispy noodles, shrimp only and lots of veggies. The portions are very large. But we did not leave any behind. We were starved and this fit all of our cravings!

Their Pho Combination Soup was the perfect choice for our first time here because it let us try a variety of their different meats in the soup. And their bowls are HUGE. I got a regular and still had a bunch of leftovers to take home. We also ordered their pork belly loaded fries off-menu. Let me tell you - their pork belly is phenomenal - tender and flavorful. From coming here looking for pho to leaving and knowing that I will 100% order these fries again was unexpected but definitely a wonderful surprise. Didn't order drinks while we were here, but they also offer a full bar. Heard they offer Happy Hour, so that might be something to look into if you're interested. Service was efficient but friendly. Hands down can't wait for us to return and enjoy more of their tasty food.
