Upon entering I noticed how super clean & so were there restrooms . It's super organized & attention to details. Entering this restaurant is very beautiful inside it's very warm, cozy, chic, classy and elegant. You have choice to sit inside or outside so it's great to have that option too. As entered I saw my girl there Gopgap "Lisa" we were so happy to see each other again! She asked if we had any questions and we did & she answered them beautifully! They have some many things go choose from whether it's appetizers, soup, plates of fish, seafoods, curries, noodles, beef, chicken, vegetables, salads, fried rice, Mama's specials, wok dishes, side orders, drinks and desserts. Their price point are great too & with the portions they serve you it's amazing ! So we ordered Tofu & Vegetables Hot pot Soup, Pad Z Ew with tofu and substitute broccoli for carrots (Noodle dish), Catfish Curry with 2 rice cups, and dessert we got Mango and stick rice! All hands down amazingly delicious. It's so mouthwatering, savory & purely authentic! That why we love coming back here!! We got full very fast ha! Gopgap always asked if we needed anything & she was on it! Gopgap "Lisa" was so super sweet, helpful, kind, caring, super down to earth! She had this very positive upbeat energy about herself that really radiates! She is your Rarest of all Diamond! Her shine can never fade!! MAKE SURE YOU CALL IF YOU HAVE ALLERGENS OR DIETARY RESTRICTIONS I ordered from here and I ordered for pick up Thai tea coconut milk and larb salad with tofu I go and I pick up my Thai tea is sitting on the counter and I asked if he made it w coconut milk the non dairy option and he said yes, lied straight to my face, but turned around and remade it. Took the food home eating a couple bites and I also said to put the salad on the side they didn't at first even though it was on the special instructions, which I don't know they don't do it for Togo because I feel it's common knowledge that lettuce wilts when sitting with warm liquids, I digress. As I'm eating I realize the texture of the protein feels weird, ITS CHICKEN. Chicken isn't deathly adverse for me but I do have very uncomfortable lasting affects to my body and I avoid chicken if possible. They replaced my food when I went but the guy was argumentative and aggressively speaking over me and wouldn't let me get a word out. To me, I don't feel I was adequately compensated, for the experience or the mistake. They gave me a "free" Thai tea with coconut milk but at the end of the day I got sick from eating chicken. PS this is not the first time I've had a problem with this branch of Thai restaurant Mama rice in Ventura gave me spoiled milk with my Thai tea and I never posted a review because I got a refund. Crunchy papaya, green beans, peanuts and cabbage with succulent shrimp in a tangy lime dressing hit the spot. Tom Yum fried rice was steamy and tasty with basil, sweet onion and red peppers. I brought my aunt and cousin here who are visiting from Korea and this location was great for a spot that serves lunch specials and is close by to the Camarillo outlets. Upon walking in on a Sunday evening, our party of two was promptly seated. The restaurant is located in the corner of the plaza, offering plenty of parking. It was decorated with charming starry night-themed paintings, which I believe were done by local artists. There were three waitresses managing the entire floor. We started with the crab rangoon appetizer, which arrived quickly and tasted fantastic. It had the perfect ratio of imitation crab and cream cheese to wrapper. The sweet and sour sauce was exactly as described--delicious. I would absolutely order this again. The chicken pad Thai was exceptional! It had the ideal balance of savory, sweet, and tangy flavors. I thoroughly enjoyed the portion size, which made the dish well worth the price. The chicken was perfectly cooked--not too dry and not underdone. HERE'S WHAT WE DEVOURED: Pumpkin Curry with Shrimp THE STAR OF THE SHOW. One of the best pumpkin curries I've ever had! The pumpkin is melt-in-your-mouth soft, the curry is a perfect blend of nutty, sweet, and savory, and the veggies are fresh and perfectly cooked. This dish alone is reason enough for me to come back! Papaya Salad with Shrimp Bright, Fresh, and MASSIVE! The lime juice is super fresh. My biggest ick is when lime juice sits out too long and the entire dish tastes bitter as a result. Not here! The balance of flavors is spot on. The shrimp is BIG! Definitely one of the best papaya salads I've had in a while. A must-order! Pad Thai with Chicken This was sadly a "meh" for me as it is missing flavor! While the portion was super generous, the flavors didn't quite pop the way I hoped. It was a little on the dry side, and I found myself wishing for more sauce and caramelization to bring it all together. Still fresh, but definitely needs tweaking! Drunken Noodles with Beef Disappointing. Normally one of my favorite dishes, but this one was a miss. The beef was tough, and the noodles lacked that deep, caramelized wok-kissed flavor that makes drunken noodles amazing. Hoping they can amp this up along with their Pad Thai. Thai Iced Tea with Boba Perfectly sweet, super creamy, and the boba was fresh and chewy. No complaints here! Spice Level Note We ordered everything at Medium Spice, but it's spicier than most at this level! (which I love!) So if you're debating between Mild and Medium, go Mild to be safe. While the Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles fell flat, the Pumpkin Curry and Papaya Salad were absolute knockouts. Ah, yes, another Thai place in Camarillo. Is this place new, I wonder? Anyways, on a Wednesday evening, we strolled into the establishment with a party of about 12 people. They were able to seat us by putting tables together. The time posted says that the close at 8:30pm. That's early, I thought. Anyways, the decor inside looked modern and clean. There were only about 2-3 waiters managing the entire floor. We got the starter plates of Fried Tofu and Papaya Salad. Those were actually extremely good. The fried tofu tasted crispy along with the sweet chili sauce. The papaya salad was refreshing to the palate. I also got the BBQ pork Fried Rice. This dish, however, was huge. It was like a mountain of food. Unfortunately, it was a bit dry and I tried really hard to finish it. The drunken noodles that I tasted from my friend tasted better, being a bit spicy. Overall, though this place gives huge portions, the quality of the food is a bit dry when it comes to fried rice. Maybe pineapple fried rice will fare better? That's what I'm going to order next. I've been to one of the Rice by Mama locations in Ventura and remember having a great experience, so was excited to see that they opened a location in Camarillo. It's tucked away in the corner of the mall so it might be a little difficult to find. We came for lunch on the weekend and it wasn't too busy. I think they were short-staffed though because it took a little bit of time to be seated. We ordered the ginger stir-fried beef, which comes with a side of jasmine rice, as well as the talay thai. The ginger stir-fried beef was a pretty standard stir-fried dish. It's a lighter dish, so might balance it out nicely if you are sharing with the table and have some dishes with stronger flavors. We also decided to try the talay thai, which is a seafood dish with slight hints of curry flavor. There was a reasonable amount of seafood, which didn't taste particularly fresh but wasn't terrible either. It tastes okay with rice, but by itself is very very salty. It's pretty expensive as well, so I would probably pass on this one. Service is a little on the slower side, but I could tell they were trying their best given how short-staffed they were. You can't go wrong if you're craving Thai, but nothing particularly stood out to me. read more

Another great new Thai restaurant in Camarillo. I've been aware of this spot based on their Ventura location and was eager to have their business on this side of town. Eagerly awaited their opening and was finally able to stop by today for lunch and overall it was a good experience. The restaurant itself is tucked away in the Lantana area shopping center in Camarillo. Parking is kind of a nightmare to be honest during lunch rush. It's always been this way in this center. They do in theory have plenty of parking but with so many great restaurants and businesses in this center it seems like still spots are hard to come by. Nothing the business can do about this but worth noting this center usually is strapped for spots unless you get lucky, I had to walk a little ways. Otherwise the restaurant itself is cute. Great signage and I love that they have an outdoor patio. Much needed and very nice to see that you can opt for outdoor seating. The interior while small was cozy and inviting. Busy at lunch time nice hustle and bustle of diners. Staff were very nice and professional. Attentive and quick to serve you. No issues at all there. Also kudos as they have a pretty extensive menu and lots of great options to choose from. The highlights of my meal were the chicken panang curry and the Thai fried rice. The panang curry was one of the better ones I've had in Camarillo. Super flavorful and I loved that they put green beans as a veggie in this curry, such a nice change from all of the filler peppers other places put. I would definitely get this again. Also I really enjoyed their fried rice. A classic but very fresh and flavorful given I didn't opt for any protein in it. Only dish I didn't love and wouldn't order again was their pad z ew (pad see ew). Usually this is one of my favorite dishes but there the flavors were a little off for me and not to my taste. I'd almost describe the sauce as more on the sweet side. I didn't love it and while the noodles and protein were cooked well, I just couldn't get over the flavor profile of this dish. 2 stellar dishes out of three isn't bad. Only other comment was the meal did seem a little pricey. Maybe it's just me? I just figured 1 curry dish, 1 noodle dish and 1 rice dish (no protein) totaling to over $50 seemed a little steep. While I did like the majority of the dishes I don't know that this spot would be on regular rotation for me. Some cheaper deals in town but again, you get what you pay for and I can say food was overall good. Definitely give this spot a try if you are in Camarillo. YUM! Had lunch at Rice by Mama (which just opened yesterday in the spot next to the closed 3-screen movie theater on Lantana). I've been to the Ventura location but this was my first time anxiously waiting for it to open here. Just like the Ventura location, WOW, is it good! I ordered the pad thai and green curry. See attached picture -I had to tilt my plate - let it sit on my rice plate so the oil goes to the other side of the dish plate. The other problem is their seating. The resto is so small so they maximize the space by letting people sit too close to the other customers. You can't even have a conversation because the people next to you are chatting and I don't want to be rude. The service is fast and I wish they bought the Thai resto in mission oaks instead.
