Hard fibers in the cassava cake.
    Godesh R.

First, you should know that this is not a restaurant. I had a hard time finding the place. This is someone operating out of a kitchen at The Kitchen Terminal. Many food trucks are parked in the lot, and the building has no signs. The door was locked and no one answered the phone. When I finally got in, a woman in an office took me to the kitchen. Second, I cannot recommend the food. I was only able to eat the lumpias, which were edible but not something I'd get again. They're different from the Filipino style--maybe the flavor profile is more Caribbean. The empanadas were a sweet pastry (like a dessert) with a beef and pepper filling. The combination was not pleasant. Finally, I tried the cassava cake. I couldn't finish this either, primarily due to the long, hard fibers throughout. It was like pulling out fish bones. I can't believe this is how it's meant to be. Surely you should strain them out? Such a disappointment for the price! My advice is that you not waste your money.

Adobo chicken, with rice and coleslaw. Chicken was in a separate dish and coleslaw dressing.

I'm West Indian and the Caribbean food is authentic and delicious. Best I've had on the west coast!

We stopped at Camarillo Outlets to try and kill time since our Air B&B is not ready until late afternoon. I looked to see if there are any Filipino food spots in the area and I found Lola Betty's. We ordered the short rib plate and the Tasilog plate and lumpia Shanghai- washed it down with Calamansi juice. Everything was delicious, 10/10. The owner came out to check on us and she was so kind, hospitable and shared some history with us on how Lola Betty's came to be. From food truck to walk up, she said that some people really preferred or hoped for a sit down restaurant. I don't have a preference. I only love the soul and passion that is poured into one's food. Love, soul and passion can be found here. The owner says, "I just really wanted a place where you can really be attentive and really take the time to cook the food the way it should be made". I can tell that she loves what she does and she thanked us for trying their food. I wanted to thank HER for feeding us! If I forgot to thank her, here it is. This place is worth a stop if you're smart.

The pricing is fair, portions are generous, and overall the food was good. As a fellow Filipino, I would love to see a little more variety on the menu since it currently focuses on the basics. From a business standpoint, especially considering the location and customer base, I understand keeping things simple. The only dish I wasn't a huge fan of was the Tapsilog, as the meat was a bit salty for my taste. The Longsilog was much better, and I loved that they included a small puto (rice cake) with the meal. Overall, a great experience and worth a visit.

I'd been doing Instacart orders from them but first time physically inside this weekend to check them out. The inside was super super clean. Major points there! In the time I was shopping around they had plenty of staff working, floors being mopped and all of the aisles were well organized and pretty. This market is a pretty standard Asian goods focused grocery store. I found about 85% of what I wanted here. I wish they had a premium sushi section and some more Hawaiian imported goods (aside from juices and sauces) but otherwise I was able to find everything I was looking for. Their hot bar is also solid. A wide selection of items to pick and I felt the pricing was reasonable. Actually throughout the whole store the prices are good compared to other grocery stores right now. I had a full bag of items for $50, good luck elsewhere getting those kinds of prices. I didn't have too much of an interaction with the staff while there, but again, lots of people working and keeping this spot in tip top shape. Also the woman working the register who checked me out was very nice. A great supermarket and I'll definitely be back more often now since checking them out.

If there was an option less then one star that I can choose, I would! I placed an order for 4:45 pm…read more(the time I received a text message) that the my order was received and being processed, even provided an order number. According to my order, the food would be delivered between 5:30pm and 6:30pm. Received a call from my sister at 7:28pm to advised the food had not yet been delivered. Checked if my account was charged, and sure enough it had been! Tried to call, phone number listed was not in service. Called Seafood City, there were 3 options to choose from (one for Grill City), no one picked up from any of the options. Then it goes to a voicemail that stated mailbox is full. Why do you have a phone number with options to reach a person when no one will answer and then the mailbox is full? Poor service on both ends in my opinion! Then my sister and brother also tried to call, still no answer. I understand you may be busy, but the whole night and there's not one person that can answer the phone? This is ridiculous! I didn't even want to order from there, you were my last option, and now, I know why you were my last option and will never by my option again. I may be one person complaining, but I don't know if others have had the same experience. I do see a couple of negatives posted, and you're lucky there are some positives, but I wonder how many actual negatives are out there and just didn't take the time to write a review. Welp...won't be ordering from here again or picking up. I know I've been in there to pick up some food, and service wasn't too good either. Lastly, I didn't even get a phone call to apologize to say my food was not going to be delivered! You suck at service!
