Casual place in a small shopping center surrounded by other restaurants. The owner greeted us as soon as we entered. The interior is clean and neat and has several tables inside. The menu is displayed clearly on the wall. Once you decide what you want to order, you go to the self-ordering kiosk and place your order. The owner was telling me that she lived in Japan for several years and learned how to cook many of the dishes during her stay. A customer came in, ordered, and then she was off preparing his food. We decided to try: Chicken curry - Curry sauce was delicious. She does not mix in veggies but adds a few peas and carrots on top. I wish my curry tasted like hers Bento with mapo tofu - Mapo had perfect spiciness. For an additional $3, the bento comes with cabbage salad, scoop of rice, egg roll on top of a few noodles There is a pitcher of water and cups near the entry so you can help yourself. When your order is ready, the owner will call out the order and you go to the counter to pick it up. I did not notice any other people working with her so she takes care of cooking all the orders then wipes down tables and tidies up as people leave. My family and I have been coming here for the past year and it's always refreshing to swing by. Never busy, plenty of seating and always good vibes! We usually get the edamame and veggie Onigiri for my daughter, my wife and I rotate between the tofu Yakisoba, veggie cold ramen, veggie hot ramen, veggie bento, and veggie/tofu curry. It was the critical reviews that sent me here, because their complaints sounded like something I'd actually love. It's correct, if you're looking for syrupy, salty, overly greasy fried "Americanized" Asian food maybe Panda Express would be a better choice. But if you like fresh cuisine where you can taste the actual food, I'd give it a try. I got the teriyaki chicken bento box and a ginger drink. The drink was a little spicy for me, reminded me of Chai. But I loved everything about my bento. More food than I could eat, reasonably priced, chicken had great flavor and the sauce was tasty but not overpowering. My friend got the shrimp and avocado bowl. The "special mayonnaise" on the shrimp and avocado bowl has a bit of a sweetness to it. That's good/bad depending on your taste. I would go back and try the noodles or ramen. The owner said they offer a number of different flavors of broth, which sounds intriguing. The nice thing about this is people can have it the way they want. Very friendly owner. I understand they spent many years in Japan and this is typical of authentic "Japanese Fast Food" which was their goal. We ordered the regular size for our daughter, not the kids portion. We thought the curry was actually good. But my kid didn't eat it, and she loves curry. We arrived at 230p on a Sunday and the lady was very nice and helpful. Our party was two adults and four kids (between 7 and 12 years old). The kids loved the ramen and udon and drank all of their boba teas. I had the Japanese curry with pork cutlet (the classic) and got it spicy. It wasn't that spicy but had very nice flavor. DH had the spicy ramen which he enjoyed. Our hot green tea was very nice and authentic with matcha green tea. The decor is simple but clean and the large mural on the back wall was a nice touch and gave the place a Japanese feel as opposed to something generic (like the Quickly tea places). Interesting tidbit about the restaurant: The owner traveled to Japan lived there for ten years and came back with an idea for Japanese Fast Food keeping the value of taste and the cost low. Fresh Fuji is a nice family owned restaurant and the people working there are friendly. The menu was somewhat limited due to their soft opening but they still had a large selection of food available. Although it is a little confusing on what they want to specialize in due to the large menu. The food itself was alright. I got the Soupless Spicy Tantanmen which was lacking in flavor and definitely wasn't soupless. My friend got the Pork Ramen with the Tonkatsu broth but we both felt it needed more salt and flavor as well. It felt like it was watered down but there was definitely potential for great tasting food. The ordering system could use some work since our names weren't taken nor was there a number given to us to let us know when our food was ready to be picked up from the front counter. We ordered on the computer but I noticed other customers weren't asked for their name or given numbers either. Once the food was ready the person at the counter had to ask who had what out loud. Overall I wouldn't say this is the best place to go if you want ramen but I also wouldn't say this is the worst place to go for ramen either. I think the owner just needs to figure out their menu and maybe reduce it even further to hone in on the flavors of a smaller menu to improve it. I plan on coming back months later in hopes that they improve their flavors and figure out what they hope to achieve with the restaurant whether it is a focus on ramen or Japanese food in general. read more

My favorite is the salmon avocado donburi, and this time I got it as a bento box, which I think I'll keep ordering in the future! I came in and order the $5 special order and a strawberry boba. The strawberry boba was good, but the special order was very disappointing. The picture on their menu showed meat on top of the rice and when I received my meal there was hardly ANY meat. I went back to ask the lady and she said because it's $5 she didn't serve me enough meat. And I said that even though it's $5 I deserve meat on my meal if it says. Then she switched the explanation to "it is more of a sauce then meat" there was no description on the menu saying it's a "saucy meat." I wish I had a picture of the meal because it was horrible. I rendered a ramen through the website, assuming I'd get it to go and just go back to campus. I arrived later than the website suggested, so my food had gotten cold.
