I don't come here for sushi as I'm not a sushi person, in fact there the only seafood I like is salmon, scallops and the occasional "filet o'fish". But a friend wanted to go to dinner here and said there was plenty of food for a non-seafood person and they were right! In fact, I've come here many times since that first initial visit as well as used Door Dash to have it delivered and the food has always been fresh and delicious, even with using a delivery service. The customer service is great as well! There is plenty of tables and chairs but it's not too cramped that you feel like the tables are too close. And there is also counter space if you want to watch them make sushi. They hae quite a large menu so there is variety from sushi to vegetable tempura to Udon with most anything you want in it to various salads, meats, bento boxes, an so much more. Finding something non-fishy/non-seafood is super easy for me. If your looking for sushi and non-seafood type items I highly recommend this place for the food, the customer service and the atmosphere! read more

Been a long time since I've visited this cute place right near home. It's very nice inside, we loved the decor and good service when we lunched today. We really enjoy the tropical fish tv display. Solid seating. They have plenty of vegetarian options! Right out there on the menu no need to haggle something. Bento boxes, sushi rolls. Plenty. The lunch menu is very full of nice offerings. The portion sizes aren't extra abundant, I'm a big fan of being served a normal amount so I like that. Lunch just isn't a particular deal. So we'll go to dinner here. It seems ptown agrees because it was empty. I had two rolls and miso soup. They did seem nicely priced and just the right amount. I enjoyed the well filled shiitake roll and the fotomaki roll $6 & & 6.95. They were nice. WATCH OUT the wasabi is HOT here. It was good. Hubby had a bento box and normally he never eats or takes the rice portion but his box was literally only the teriyaki salmon and half an Alaskan roll. The orange slice was a waste as fruit is bad to combine with protein like this. For $14 seemed a bit stingy, we missed the daikon or edamame we're used to seeing in a bento box. It does come with soup and salad so was probably reasonably priced. It seems we'd prefer a vegetable side instead of rice hubby had to eat to fill up. I'm not so sure the prices are lunch deal minded. $30 for two for lunch with no beverages seems a bit steep. There's cheaper more abundant sushi lunches to be had but not in such a lovely setting. read more

So I went last night to grab diner with my daughter and my wife and sister said the food was great why not try it out. We must of it it on a busy night with only one server in the whole place So seemed to take a while for the soup and the water refills were slow, my daughter said she felt bad for the server because she was very busy. It would of been nice if they had a runner that was able to help pour water. Two weeks earlier my wife said such great things about this place so I will be back. Got the Karla Roll , since I'm really into thin lemon slices on salmon sushi. Did not disappoint. The wasabi is a lot less spicy than I'm used to so, ended up having to use a lot The salad was good and my green tea came in the cutest cup decorated with sushi. When I got there, servers & chef were very busy although there were only 2 or 3 tables to serve so it took a while for them to clear the eaten plates and trash and next to me. Heard about this place from my lyft driver. Came on a Tuesday night and it was not very busy. Our server was awesome, really made my daughter feel special. He recommended the sponny and the golden gate roll. Loved the golden gate and sponny was okay (maybe next time will get the one w/o cream cheese). The portions were pretty big. The sushi tastes pretty fresh. I think a good local spot for tasty sushi. Nothing fancy, but family friendly so that is great. We will be back for sure. read more

My family goes here once a week - often I get pick up after work and take it home. It's probably the best Sushi in Petaluma. The fish is so fresh, they use real crab, the salmon is like butter. The Poki Salads are over generous with Tuna. That would be our favorite order and again they are BIG Poki Salads with a good and spicy seaweed salad. The restaurant has a lot of regulars. They've been around awhile. The place is very very clean. The service is pretty quick. I eat a lot of sushi all over the North Bay, as I travel for business. This is the best sushi place, I've been too in while. You might not think it, as it's in the shopping mall of a KMart and a Burger King, but don't let the location fool you - this place is solid. Don't be fooled by the location, this place is A+ in service, cleanliness and smiles. I'll be honest-sushi is good but not the best I have ever had. We waited at least 10 minutes before the lone waitress appeared from the back and started helping the tables that were seated before we arrived. The lone sushi chef was cranking out orders as quickly as he could, but I can't imagine what this place is like when it's packed. We enjoyed the potstickers and the miso soup while we waited for our sushi. The sushi was fine, nothing special, but certainly overpriced for the quality. It looked great on the plate, but at the end of the day, it comes down to taste. The sushi rolls were very big and fell apart. They also lacked flavor and were not "melt in your mouth" fresh. The only thing that was good were the salad and miso soup. Went here last night after helping my cousin at the office. Our waitress, I forgot her name but my cousin told me that she's the owners daughter, was suuuuper sweet. This is a great lunch deal! The portions are quite generous, and they have a ton of options for bento boxes, rice places, and sushi. I've had lots of mediocre, scrawny bento boxes in my time. This one was fresh and flavorful, filled with delicious hunks of tempura-fried veggies, some of the best teriyaki sauce I've ever had, and yummy nigiri. The only mild downer is the atmosphere. Fuji has long been our favorite Japanese restaurant and during this pandemic, they are our go-to place when we tire of cooking. Last night we got a beautiful tonkatsu dinner combination (comes with salad, rice and miso soup) and 9 pieces of nigiri. That sushi was amazing! We also got an order of potstickers and a carburetor roll which is like a California roll on steroids. Everything was lip-smacking delicious! We are so happy they are offering take-out and they have every precaution in place. They will deliver to your car as dine-in is not yet allowed. Best sushi we've eaten in Sonoma County. We live in Sonoma, but it's worth the drive. Sushi pieces are ample and fresh, and the rolls are big and excellent. If you like shrimp, I recommend the Rick Rick roll. And you don't need to be a Pink Floyd fan to enjoy the Dark Side of the Moon roll. read more

Ordered takeout last night. The sushi was just OK. The pieces of each roll were huge! Too much rice on each roll and the pieces all stuck together and easily fell apart. Something was also off about the color of the tuna. It was bright pink. Tuna should not be this color so that threw me off a bit. The chicken teriyaki was also over cooked and very dry. They had a very large menu with a lot of different combinations and lunch specials. I ordered the sushi lunch combo with a spicy tuna roll and my husband had the sushi maki combo. The sushi was excellent, server was amazing, but the owner came over not long after we had ordered and I had kept my menu, so we could order more. My friend and I were just visiting with her two little girls, and the owner abruptly came over without even saying hello and started scolding me that my menu was not a placemat (I had the little plate on top of it that I had not used) and aggressively pulled it off the table telling me that I would make a mess on it. I tried to explain why I was keeping it, but she ignored me and walked away while wiping it off, even though it was clean. Just absolutely rude and disrespectful. Heading home from the Russian River and got a craving for sushi, well actually my 4 year old requested "shushi" from the backseat and I was thrilled with the idea of eating anywhere other than a drive through. I have tried numerous sushi places from petaluma to santa rosa and more, and Fuji is by far the BEST, BEST, BEST place to go for amazing sushi!! The service is kinda slow best the waiters and sushi chef are always smiling and super nice. They also have really good and tight sushi rolls.
