I love Fresh Kitchen...I eat here probably 4-5 times a month. But I feel like the quality and freshness has gone downhill my last few orders? And today was probably the worst so far. I decided to try the blackened chicken and didn't realize that meant 'burnt to a crisp' and so seasoned that I cringed. Also the coconut sriracha sauce was oily and lumpy....gross. I ordered the cauliflower potatoes, which were mashed; the kale slaw. Looked really fresh; the baked salmon (extra charge) and almond baked chicken; roasted broccoli and sautéed green beans. The potato mash was creamy with some chunks of potatoes, pthe way I like it. The green beans and broccoli were flavorful and cooked well. Cooked but with a little crunch left. It is the best that way. The almond chicken was really crunchy and tasted like the fried version.... Kinda. . The salmon was a nice size, and had a great taste. My only negative feedback is the chicken was a little dry as it was a little over cooked and the salmon had the dark part attached which was off putting to me. I've been probably over 30 times. It can be hit or miss sometimes but majority of the times I'm satisfied. Miss the days when it was cheaper! Go to is 6 bowl with double noodles and double coconut rice (substitute for no veggies), the citrus chicken and the blackened chicken, with avocado and balsamic on the side. The salmon is good too but the price to upgrade doesn't equal the size of the salmon so I get it sparingly. read more

I was excited to try Fresh Kitchen again after trying it out when it first opened. This time, dining as a vegan, it was easy to see which bases, veggies, and proteins were vegan. Kudos for a clear menu with which items are vegan friendly. Sadly, there were no warm vegan protein options. After deciding on warm brown rice, warm perfect spice rice, and warm chickpeas, my only choice was cold caprese tofu! What a disappointment. I ended up getting it and it just didn't go with what I was building. I could have gotten a 2nd veggie as an option, so there's that. I would feel cheated as the proteins are usually more costly than the veggies. The other disappointing factor from other "bowl" places is that after your bases, veggie, protein, and 1 sauce, there's no way to jazz up your bowl without paying extra. Some of the options looked pretty good (i.e. the cherry tomatoes for $1.50), but didn't want to end up with a 12 or 13 dollar bowl. There wasn't one "free" add-on. Thrown in some sesame seeds or something! It's a good option for a fresh meal. The meat and seafood options looked pretty good. It's an OK place but they need to re-think a few things (vegan proteins and add-ons) before I re-think about re-visiting. read more

My bowl had cauliflower potato mash (surprisingly my favorite part, the texture was very close to consistency of regular mashed potatoes), kale slaw, sweet potatoes, grilled citrus chicken (was not as flavorful as I expected), and creamy white ginger sauce. The kale pesto tomatoes in my sister's bowl was very refreshing, but it is an add on! I wish the staff was a little nicer--it was often hard to communicate with the masks on and they didn't quite explain the customized bowl to my sister who had never eaten Fresh Kitchen before. To be honest it blew my expectations away. I had the sweet potato noodles, maple sweet potatoes with the steak. The steak was on point. Like, perfectly cooked and tasty. The noodles were odd. Ok they tasted great but had a slimy texture that I was ok with but if you're a texture person might be an issue. The maple sweet potatoes tasted great but had been sitting a bit. We really enjoy coming to fresh kitchen! We love the options and the prices seem very fair. The portioning is very good, and we almost always have leftovers to bring back with us as well.
