Waterford Lakes~This amazing spot has never been on my radar until today. Although we are not used to eating Szechuan Chinese food, we definitely wanted to give it a shot. None of us can eat spicy, which is apparently exactly what Szechuan Chinese food is! lol That being said, the hostess was more than accommodating in making sure everything was prepared without spice!! Everything was made fresh and with a lot of delicious ingredients. We did not feel like we missed anything as far as taste goes because we did not have the spice. There are several dishes on the menu that I am not familiar with, but through a little bit of a language barrier, I was able to figure out some things that we would enjoy. Definitely give this place a shot if you are looking for some delicious Chinese food. See below...pictures and explanations of what we ordered.

Love this place!! We always try to go there every time we are in the area. Great food, super nice servers, and they always give us free things to sample! It's a szechuan foods, but there are lots of options for non-spicy eaters too! We always get 2 portions of Yummy Chickens. My kids love them!! The spicy fish, spicy & sour soup noodles are amazing too. The cucumber salad is super refreshing. They gave it to us for free last time. There is a permanent Happy Birthday sign, so take your family there for your birthday Definitely a must try Chinese restaurant if you are in the area!

My sister found this spot on yelp. We took my 75 year old aunt out to dinner. She never goes outside and only wants fast food for dinner. Uh No. Not on my watch! She's a complainer, and in her old age, hates everyone and every thing.. except babies. On the drive over she asked about 10 times where we were going, so we kept repeating Yummy Taste. She got very upset thinking we were only telling her how the food tasted. She didn't like the name. But when we ate the food- she said it was o.k. Ok! Ok??? We ordered the spicy pork ribs- I loved them! Green beans- flavorful. House fried rice- delicious! Salt and pepper shrimp- yummy! The three of us were extremely satisfied! The bill total for those four dishes and 3 sodas was $70. I'd come back! It's a definite try!!!

This is our go-to order whenever we need good chinese food. The flavors are authentic and have not been disappointed.

Stopped in for lunch with a friends. Started off with the poach chicken in chili oil. It was ok, a little spicy, served cold and it a half a chicken chopped so expect bones. That why for me this dish was ok. Then got the spicy and crispy chicken (it called other names at other places). Ok the chicken was very good, some heat. With theirs they don't use a lot of the red chili which I liked and not many peppercorns which I don't like. Friend got the fried rice and enjoyed it. I got chicken fried rice to go for tomorrow. Will be back.

Very authentic spot with great food. i got the spicy beef rice noodle soup and the mapo tofu. For dessert I had the sweet rice cakes. Will be back for all of that.

One of my sister's go-to Chinese restaurants when the fam is in town is Yummy Taste - and she doesn't even like spicy foods. So I was definitely intrigued. We had a large table of at least 8 people so I was ready for the full spread. We got two orders of the stir fried green beans because my sister claimed one plate would not be enough for the entire table. And it was definitely a good call because while each plate did have a lot of green beans, they were just that good. The rest of the dishes we ordered were all pretty tasty, with my favorites being the Griddle Shrimp, the Mung Bean Jelly with Chili, the Braised Sliced Fish and the Cumin Beef Noodles. We also tried a soup that I can't remember the name of that was good, as well as the Sautéed Scallion Beef and Sweet & Sour Ribs. So you can't go wrong ordering any of these dishes. Overall, I just can't wait for my next trip to Orlando to dine at Yummy Taste again!

Super authentic chinese food. Portion is surprisingly large. It's my first time eating here. So far I enjoyed it so much. I will Definitely come back.

So when you walk it's small with bamboo decor. Don't be phased because you can smell the food it's original and unforgettable. We come here a lot because it satisfies every time. It's a hidden secret because the food is incredibly satisfying. Like mom's cooking. The perfectly steamed fish with tofu has the sauce that you want to pour over your rice. Love love the braised pork omg!!! Last night we had something new without the soup don't remember the name it had thinly sliced potatoes, chicken, beef and shrimp spicy and satisfying. My favorite is the sweet'n and sour pork ribs. So this is our multi visit restaurant monthly. Go hungry portions are big

If you want something spicy, this is a place for you. They really can make the food very spicy. It is great during winter time. Because heat warm the body. We got the spicy broil fish. It is a white fish in traditional spicy sauce. I can said while I am eating and sweating in the same time. I can tolerate the spicy but still make me sweat. The second dish is the wife and husband slice meat. You can make is spicy if you request. Basically is internal organs and slice beef. It is great to go with rice wine. The third dish is the intestines noodles. The intestines was process with flavor. Overall service is good. Restaurant is above average.

Awwwww, snap! This new Szechuan restaurant took over the old VLC vegan space in the Waterford Towers plaza by Papa Lozzi's and Castaways. Don't get me wrong, I liked VLC, but I looooove some good, spicy Szechuan food. The menu has a lot of traditional items you're not going to find on any takeout Chinese places. If you're new to Szechuan food, maybe look at the menu before hand and google or browse the Yelp pics so you're prepared. The menu has just the name of the dish and no description so if you don't have a general idea of what it is, then you're gonna be confused. The menu is my main reason for not giving a full 5 stars because it's lacking in descriptions and also some more variety/options. I'd really like to see more appetizers like my absolute favorite Szechuan Wontons. The diced we got were the beef w/ tofu pudding and the fish in a hot sauce. Both were incredible. And spiiiiicy. I really love these spicy dished that make my mouth tingle and have so much incredible flavor. My only complaint is the amount of peppercorns. I really don't like biting down on a whole peppercorn so I end up painstakingly trying to fish them out from every bite. I guess it keeps me from eating too fast, so that's not all that bad. I will be keeping an eye on the menu and hoping to see some new items pop up and will definitely be back.

Insanely delicious food. Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants in Orlando. Every dish we ordered was a hit. The staff is also very friendly and accommodated an allergy in the party, which we appreciated. Definitely a must try!

Yummy Taste is a new Szechuan restaurant located in the Waterford Towers shopping plaza (across from the Waterford Lakes Town Centre). It is an attractive restaurant. Bright with warm wood overtones. The menu here is based on Szechuan food and though small, I found a few items that interested me. I ultimately went with the twice cooked pork noodles and after a moderate wait, my food was brought to me. Overall, the bowl was a bit small and there was not a lot of pork belly. I also would have preferred the pork belly to be fried a bit to develop a bit of a crispy exterior, but it was not meant to be. Overall, the dish was not terrible, but it wasn't a ything special either. Szechuan cooking should be wonderfully complex and this dosh was rather one dimensional. I love Szechuan food, but this place was rather uninspired. This place was a vegan restaurant prior to this change yo Szechuan cooking, though they still have a vegan menu. I guess this is trying to keep customers coming in. Again, I found the food nothing extraordinary or even particularly good. I guess I will go with two stars.

It's…read moreeasy to see why they're in the Michelin Guide--the flavors were on point, and every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. My only disappointment came at the end of our meal. The staff kindly packed up our leftovers for us, but when I got home and opened the bag, I realized some of the untouched dishes weren't included. It was a bit of a bummer since we were looking forward to enjoying them later. Even with that hiccup, the food was outstanding and definitely worth the visit. If you're a dim sum lover, this place deserves a spot on your list!

We were in town for a convention and wanted some healthful Chinese food. This restaurant was listed…read moreas one of the best in Orlando. It's in a strip mall with lots of parking. The place is elegantly decorated with an Asian theme. However, some of the benches attached to the booths had worn out upholstery. Our server, Yumi (spelling?) was polite and efficient. We had the salt and pepper squid appetizer. It was plentiful and great with the accompanying sauce. However, we didn't like the breading. And I dared to bite into one of the peppers that accompanied it and it set my mouth on fire. For dinner we had the Szechuan scallops and the XO fish. The scallops were tasty and the dish had lots of broccoli, peppers, and mushrooms. The sauce was a bit sweeter than we expected. The XO fish sauce was very similar to the Szechuan sauce and though the fish was a tad salty, it was still savory. The asparagus that accompanied that dish was chopped (easier to eat) and there were plenty of sweet snap peas and bell peppers. We adore snow pea tips and were in the mood for lots of veggies. So, we got an order to accompany our meals. We did take home most of it, along with lots of broccoli (for me) from the Szechuan scallops. We were treated to a complimentary Chinese-style dessert made with peeled split mung beans and thickened with tapioca starch into a gooey, translucent pudding that was served warm. Our meal of 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 1 order of veggies, a pot of tea, tax, and tip was $138.
