Only thing I wish for is if they were open for dinner. Sometimes I get a craving in the evening for one of their delicious sandwiches but have to wait til lunch the next day. And of course moving on to the beer... the primary motivator to come here. I got the Kölsch beer here called Field Trip. I do love a good Kölsch as they are nice, light bodied beers. And they are especially nice in the summertime. Flavor features in this beer is maltiness, breadiness, a bit of hoppiness and a dry finish. Another beer that Steve and I tried was the INWPA which was a Pale Ale. It was also a nice light bodied beer which again hit the spot despite it being a different drinking session. Flavor characteristics in this beer is citrus, a yeastiness, hoppiness and a biscuity trait. Good beers and sandwiches and we are aiming for a return whenever we are in Spokane again.

Others might find it pleasant, but I did not care for it much. The fig sandwich was the one I was more excited about and expected some sweetness to be cut down by the bacon. I don't think it was a perfect balance between the two, and I got a tad much of the overwhelming sweetness of the figs in this sandwich. Again, others might enjoy it, but I didn't care for it. I really wanted to give this place a great review, but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. I had high hopes for this place, but it missed the mark completely. The fried chicken was overcooked and dry, the mac and cheese lacked flavor, and the collard greens were bland and underseasoned. Even the cornbread was dry and crumbly. Everything felt greasy rather than rich and comforting. To top it off, the sweet tea was weak, and service was slow. Soul food should feel like home, but this place felt rushed and uninspired. Definitely not worth a return visit. read more

The food has been a little bit better here but I have grown up on the full spectrum of Southern food and I haven't loved the catfish or fried okra yet but I hope I will somw day. It's great that their business provides jobs opportunities to community youth so its not helpful for me to be a snob about some catfish and okra.
