I recently went to Kroger to shop for my grandparents with their EFT card their health benefits card. I only had it on my phone. I did not have the physical card with me. When I went to check out, the cashier was extremely dismissive from the beginning without even me showing her the card information Online it states that you're able to pay at Kroger by showing a specific barcode but she kept telling me they're not allowing that payment, which I understand. However, I do not expect them to be extremely dismissive with me since online, I was getting instructions on how to pay at Kroger with the barcode on my phone. The staff was not helpful, especially since it's a matter of older people being taken care of. The communication needs to be better when it comes to whether we can pay through the app or we need a physical card with us since I had instructions on how to pay at Kroger. read more

I will never go into a Kroger again. A lousy selection of gluten free items. The Produce Is PATHETIC, And I have seen Rotten and expired meat and outdated frozen food. The overall service Is terrible , you can watch the employees walking around with cell phones glued to their head and doing nothing. Wake up Kroger you need to go 100 percent gluten free. I don't know why this place has such a low ratings. First of all this store is smaller side among other Krogers. But I like the size of this store because when I go to shopping after work , I definitely do not want to go to huge stores and walking a lot to just find something. Second, Also I think this store never been too crowded so I never stand in long crazy line to cashier. At Meijier or wal mart , I always have to stand in long never ending line to get to the cashier which makes me exhausted. At last, the staff are always polite and nice. read more

Click List and Customer Service at this Kroger is AWFUL! Today is the 2nd time I've had a click list order not be ready at the time I scheduled a pick-up. I placed an order YESTERDAY for a pick-up TODAY between 6:00-7:00. We get to Kroger at 6:20 and call and they tell us it will not be ready until 7:30. Absolutely ridiculous. I asked to speak with a manager, they hung up. I called back and asked for a manager, they transferred me to a rude employee named Gwendolyn who put me on hold for well over 5 minutes, picked up the phone and transferred me back to the ClickList team which hung up on me again. I've shopped at Kroger every week for 5+ years and will no longer be going back. read more

Decent selection of organic fruits and veggies, I would love to see more organic options in the center isles, also need better meat selection. People will pay for grass fed in this location especially. not a world class grocery store but good enough for a local neighborhood store. read more

Not sure I understand the bad reviews. This is a smaller grocery store, so it isn't going to have 20 types of ketchup. However I've always found the items I have needed, and never had any issues with staff. Service is always great. Checkout is always fast no matter when I come. Staff is always very friendly. One time I dropped a gallon of milk which exploded when I was walking out. My 2 year old son started crying, and despite the mess and scene I made, employees were very understanding and courteous. They even offered to replace my milk for free. Many times I'll walk by the bakery, and staff will ask if it's OK to give my son a cookie. They also have small kid sized metal shopping carts that my son loves. One time (after they had put them away for the winter), I asked staff why they were all gone. One employee explained they were put away for the season, but then went in the back to try and find one. Definitely "above and beyond" in my book. read more

This is a very nice store. It's always clean & the staff are friendly! The Starbucks is a nice touch.

Kudos to this kroger for enabling pickup at their location. However, always doublecheck what they put in your trunk. There would always be something missing. They dont inform you at the time of delivery so you could get it from another store on the way back. atleast they dont charge you for it. One time I was stranded in their parking lot for two hours total. Each time they called, they said they will be out there in the next 15 mins. Promised me $20 as compensation which i never received. Another instance, When you go for pickup, no one ever validates that you are who you are. I got someone else's order delivered to me despite following their instructions. Then they said comeback and pickup your order. Then they said you can keep the previous order. Then they conveniently took out the higher priced items in the previous order. I went to check and when I explained them my frustrations, shook their like a toddler. They kept interrupting me while i spoke and finally said that's was not your order that we promised you to keep. Total trash. Well, you have been warned about pickup. read more

This was supposed to be a Kroger 's select store and is more like a carry out. Meat department not even open at 8 on Saturday. Employees have an attitude and the place is always dirty. This store has gone down hill over the the last 3 or 4 years significantly and maybe the Area manager should take a hard look at it. read more

This is where I do most of my shopping since it opened. The staff is friendly, the produce is fresh, and they have good sales. I love the small size of the store so my trips take less time getting in and out, but it does get busy midday. I mostly come before 10 am to avoid the crowds. The deli counter staff has always been sweet and nice to work with, but I do think they're understaffed back there. I also love the cheese counter and everyone is knowledgeable and friendly. read more

This is by far the worst Kroger in the area. Store is understaffed. I can see why management is short and inconsiderate of customers. Return machines always filled. Place is filthy. Shelves never stocked. Employees try but are over worked and thus don't care. Horrible experience. I'm never stepping foot in the store again. Busch's and Costco forever. read more

This location is awful and I avoid coming here at all costs. The staff that I have encountered are often if not always incompetent, rude and unhelpful. Not to mention the store in of itself is tiny and you can barely find what you need because they stuffed what would normally be a larger scale grocery store into this small Downtown Northville spot. With a Starbucks, a sushi station, wine 'cellar', fresh salad bar, a wide variety of cheeses, meats and seafood and a good selection of International items I'd say this was a pretty equal trade for the Hillers this store once was. Coincidentally this is by far the nicest Kroger I've set foot in, and for it being a small-ish store it carries a lot of products. I haven't bumped into a Redbox or a watercooler type water station, but aside from that it's a pretty regular Kroger - just nicer. I have seen products here which I've never seen at the bigger store at 6 mile and Haggerty. It seems the focus here is more on healthier foods/snacks, international goods and local products. The fruit and produce section for example carries a variety of interesting Asian (root) vegetables and fruits such as Jack fruits. Everybody we have encountered has been very friendly and helpful, and the store is immaculately clean and organized. Of course it's brand new, but I hope they will be able to continue this level of standards. If nothing else it makes the tiny OCD voice inside me very happy for the time being, all the products and their labels are evenly aligned- sweet. This Northville store will be launching Kroger Click List. Shop online and select a date and time for pick up, then the Kroger Click List fairies will magically shop for you and deliver your groceries curb side to your car. The first three times you use this service it'll be free, after that it's $4.99 per service which is totally worth it to me! But then again I don't like to shop, can be lazy and am self-induced busy all the time (admitting is the first step, right?) so five Dollars seems like a good trade. read more

This Kroger fucking sucks. I constantly come here because I live a block away, yet also constantly find myself leaving almost as soon as I walk in. They have a limited selection because it's a smaller store and on top of that, they are also constantly out of the many things they actually DO carry. I have also many times bought things from here that when I get home, open up and find out that they are bad. They have an unusual amount of cheese that nobody buys and takes up a huge part of the store. Here's an idea--Quit trying to be bougie and get rid of the insanely massive cheese/salad bar/sushi area and replace it with items that you don't carry that other Kroger's do. From now on, I will just make it a point to either stop at Meijer or Trader Joe's on my way home. What a utter waste of time this store is. read more

I placed a click-list order last week Tuesday, March the 31st and had to wait a week for pick-up due to COVID-19 situation. My pick up was for Tuesday, April the 7th from 2 - 3 pm. I called them to ask a question and was told that they were a few hours behind but that they would call me for my pick-up later that same day. At 6:30 pm, I called the Northville, MI Kroger store to speak with the Manager Sandy. She went to speak with the click-list staff. In the meantime, Mark from Click-List called me to tell me that they were cancelling my order. I told them I wanted to speak with Sandy the Manager regarding this because I waited a week only to get my order cancelled and am now completely without any groceries. Sandy gets on the phone and basically told me I was out of luck, my order would be cancelled for today but I could place my order again. REALLY??? Why in the heck would I do that if I waited a week to get this one cancelled. Should I place it again and wait another week only for that one to get cancelled too? Sandy then proceeded to tell me that she didn't have to listen to me and what I was saying. This is RIDICULOUS!!!! I will never shop Kroger again. Sad too because my Mom retired from that company. read more

I get frustrated every time I go in this store. Their meat and seafood selection is appalling, and terrible prices. It always looks old, or still frozen and really boring cuts of meat. I have gone in multiple times for basic items, and they have not had the item I was looking for...mind you nothing crazy, like oat bran and pasta flour. One star is generous. If you're looking for a grocery store that continually runs out of the most basic items, that does not pull expired foods off of the shelves and that routinely has NO checkout lanes open, then this is the store for you! Keep in mind that you will likely have to climb around many large stocking carts that clutter almost every aisle during prime shopping hours. Happily, MOST employees can hide their irritation when you have the audacity to need to reach an item blocked by the clutter. The worst ClickList around. Will never go back. Order was supposed be to ready at 1, my husband got there and they said it would be another hour. They never called to say they were behind. Called the manager to complain only to find it wouldn't be ready until 4:00 (again no call to let us know). Called at 3:45 before my husband made the 25 min drive back and they said it was all set. He got there a little after 4:00 and waited 45 minutes. They were also supposed to credit the order $25 and never did. What a joke!! read more

So we have used the new shopping service known as "click list". At first it went well but the last two times our perishables went bad the next day in the fridge. Meat and cream going bad in one day means we are losing too much money. If you're looking for convenience, I would not recommend this service. read more

Often when I make a grocery list Kroger in Northville is out of something on my list. Yesterday it was fresh basil. Last week it was grapefruit juice. Very often this has happened since the store opened. This was never an issue at Hillers. More often lately I have been resigned to shop at Busch's to make sure I will get everything on my list. When Hiller's closed, I was doubtful Kroger could pull it off, but they did. The store is clean, with a large selection (including unique items). The staff is friendly and always says "Hello, how are you?" The store includes a Starbucks, sushi station, fresh flowers, a knowledgeable cheese master. The only downside are limited selections of bath/medicine and pet items (although they have dog food). I've moved from Meijer and Kroger. read more
