The hidden gem part is the food. We have ordered chicken and potato wedges for parties on two occasions, and I think it tastes BETTER than Lees or Canes, yep. We have also ordered their pizzas three or four times, and it is never disappointing. It's a refreshing alternative to the chain restaurants. What I recently discovered is the lunch / hot food options. When you see 4 pickup trucks of working guys grabbing pizza slices and fresh fried chicken for lunch, you know it's a great place. I look forward to trying everything... but for now I get pepperoni sticks every time. The service is fast and efficient, even if there is a line. The ambiance is laid back and unassuming. There is plenty of parking and it's easy to get in and out, as it's off the beaten path. It's worth a trip.

This corner store located on the rural western edge of Northville and Salem stands out among other fried chicken restaurants in the area that are expensive and serve badly cooked food. I highly recommend the drive to Country Fair for its chicken, mozzarella sticks, and potato wedges. The amount of food is perfect for larger groups too.

This chain needs to update it:d items and approach to the current preferences of younger adults and knowledgeable others. I went to this store yesterday and felt like I was in Walmart. On this huge store there was only one line to get a real person line for ringing up your groceries -:everything else was self check. Contrast this to the smaller Trader Joes with ten person lines. Like Walmart, the deli has only sodium nitrite meat selections that are all classified now as class one carcinogens,! Also, like Walmart there are no reduced fat cheeses in the store. Nutrition researchers now recommend to buy only cheeses with 3% or less saturated fat. . On the breakfast cereal side, about half of their cereals were highly sweetened and none were lines of healthy cereals. The organic fruits and vegetables are way in the back of the store with limited types and high prices. If you go to most of the mainline churches today, you will find mostly gray heads and fewer attendees. They don't keep up with the times . Likewise at Meijer s, most of their customers are gray heads. Young and middle age shoppers have turned to stores like Trader Joes and Costc.o.

I saw someone unpacking a Halloween display just before you got in the long line for self check out. Does that make sense. I go there for the flowers but the ones I got had almost no water in the vases and I even walked behind the counter to the sink to get some. I even saw plants were dying from no water as I walked out but with my weakness I couldn't stop and help them. The store had an older tired look that showed it was not one of the chain favorites. Unexpected for the upscale area. I have been here more than a few times over the last years and it was never this bad.

We did ask an associate to check in the back to see if what we wanted was available. She seemed a little put out that we asked and wound up brining us the wrong item (which I just took from her, thanked her, and then put it on the shelf when she was not looking). Every aisle had folks stocking shelves - which is a good thing! However, the Kroger app is horrible! There were several in-store specials where the signs said to scan the code to apply the coupon. Whenever I tried, another copy of the Kroger app opened up and not to the coupon page. When I went to the coupon section, the items were not listed. A different associated offered to help and I thought maybe he'd have a better chance given he worked there and was not older than 30 years old...however, he could not figure it out either and paged the manager for assistance. I waited for almost five minutes for the manager and gave up. And that was not even the most frustrating part of the experience. The check-out lines were very long. Self-check out was limited to just three and only one manned by a cashier. Lines were at least 10 customers long and moved slow. I know you need folks stocking shelves but when the lines are snake down the aisles, it seems it would be good to have at least one or two people move up to the front of the store to check out customers. Sadly, we left with several items on our grocery list and went to Meijer to get them....at least their self-check out area moves quickly!
