Honestly solid for a restaurant at an "attraction". I went with the burnt ends plate and really enjoyed it. They were super tender and flavorful. The fried cornbread was good, but I would have just preferred regular cornbread. The food comes out quickly, which is a big win when you are with a hangry child. The kids also all enjoyed their kids meals. The utters to get your BBQ sauces was cracking me up. Would grab lunch here again when at the farmland. We stopped at Davis BBQ after a day at the farm, and it did not disappoint! The food was fantastic all around. I got the Mushroom veggie burger which was very good--it didn't feel like an afterthought, which is rare for BBQ spots. The Smokehouse sandwich was phenomenal--so flavorful and satisfying. My husband loved all the meats! The sides were just as good. The crinkle-cut fries were perfectly crispy and addictive, and the fried cornbread was good but too rich to enjoy. The cucumber salad was a perfect balance--light, refreshing, and with just the right amount of tartness and sweetness. One of the best parts was the condiment station--so many different sauces to try, and every single one was amazing. It was fun mixing and matching them with all the food. Have been going to Davis farmland since I was kid. Love to see them keep expanding! This is an order at the counter place b but food came out extremely quick and they even have a full bar with draft beer and cocktails. Best BBQ I've ever had in my life. The burnt ends are incredibly smoky and tender, full of velvety fat that melts in your mouth. The brisket is equally good. The baked beans are the best I've ever had, incredibly smoky and meaty -- they feel like they're about 50% smoked meat. The fried corn bread is tasty, and the rice is decent to temper some of the smoke from the meats. The mac & cheese is really rich, made with delicious smoked gouda. Cole slaw is nice and creamy with a slight sweetness, and again offers a nice reprieve when your mouth is feeling too smoky, or if it's on fire from their spicy BBQ sauce. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is kept very clean. Wait staff are very friendly and service is lightning fast. They have outdoor dining and plenty of activities for kids including a petting zoo and corn maze. It's a very cool place. So I called to see if they were open before driving over. They closed at 7 she said and it was 6:45 so I said I'd make my way over. I arrived at 6:30 and first thing the woman said was "just to let you know, we ran out of ribs a few hours ago". I said that would have been nice if someone mentioned that when I called but ok. My wife got the burnt end bowl which she says it's the only thing she likes. I got the two meat platter with burnt ends, brisket, cornbread bites and beans which was $31.95. Uhmmm....I got three slices of brisket and seven burnt ends. I mean for $32 at BT's Smokehouse you get at least double that and the container weights a ton. This was a joke. Got the chicken nachos which was full and had good flavor. For desert we got the beignets which was $10 for four. Wife said she wasn't sure if liked them or hated them. Said they were very greasy. New Kansas City style barbecue joint at Davis Farm, so it has the potential to be a family friendly destination space similar to Kimball's. Twin Southern pride smokers on display near the entrance. Very modern and clean interior with both tables and booths. No bar. Service is over the counter and they bring it to you. Drinks are self service with free refills. Wings: Smoked, then deep-fried, then sauced. Definitely pricey at over $10 for six wings, but they were large, fresh, and had a good contrast between crisp exterior and moist to juicy interior. Choice of sauce; I got the chipotle, which was applied perfectly to my preference: just enough to coat fully, and no more. Moderate smoke. Flavor came mostly from deep within the meat, not just the surface. Burnt Ends: Cubed chunks of brisket from the fatty part of the cut, smoked an extra long time, had rubby, blackened crust and reddened cross sections. Consistency ran the gamut from chewy to super succulent depending on the piece, but all of it had explosive flavor on the crisp bark. Smokiness again moderate. Ribs: I was surprised to receive 4 ribs on the combo, but one was an end rib with very little meat. They seemed fresh even though a little steamy. The meat allowed a perfect competition bite, pulling off very easily. Good flavor in what I'm guessing is a high end sourced product. Like the wings, flavor came from inside more than surface. Saucing was done sparingly and with a fairly neutral sweet and tangy. A friendly runner offered a few other sauces to try; all were pretty good. Turkey: No worse than any other barbecue turkey I've had outside of Texas, but not anything better either. It got the job done without distinction, but without all the heaviness and calories of other barbecue items, so a nice option to have. Fried Cornbread: Basically cornbread bites cut into cubes and deep fried a la 1970s Wesson commercials, served with honey butter. Reminded me of a less-sweet plain donut with a little extra crunch. Mac and cheese: Made with Gouda, solid but pretty basic and served kinda tight. Coleslaw: Very crunchy; think chicken salad minus the chicken. Cucumber salad: nearly as many cherry tomato halves as cuke slice and tossed in Italian dressing, so a true salad of sorts. Grilled vegetables: Mostly autumnal stuff, like squash, given some char and cooked until softened. Nice flavor. Friendly staff, eager to bring what you need, and a rice replacement was handled with grace. Squeaky clean environment that'll let you eat with comfort and safety during these covid times. read more

It was long drive but good BBQ is hard to find these days! I tried Burned ends, brisket, burger and wings. Sides i tried were cole slaw and fries. Fries were crispy and fantastic - 5 stars Burnt ends were great. Nice crusty top and juicy meat underneath - 5 stars Brisket had a thicker fat cap than i like but it was perfectly done - 4.5 stars Wings were not BBQ IMHO. I knew they did the BBQ weekends before but I never had the chance to check it out. Surprised to find out this place opened just last December. It was awesome! Full BBQ Menu and Beer and Margaritas too! Davis farmland is really more catered as a family fun Agritainment venue but this will be a staple for a lot of people to come and chill for awhile. First thing I noticed on the menu. "Chicken tender platter" bunch of chicken tenders, understood. "Rib platter" bunch of ribs, understood. "One Meat platter" Choose one of the meats, got it. "Two Meat platter" choose 2 of the meats, I'm getting the hang of this. "JLD Platter" ............. 3 Meats, duh, that was obvious. Alright here we go Brisket was a bit on the tough side with the fat not really melting too well in the mouth. But the rub they used on it was delicious, some nice peppercorn style and great tasting spices that work perfectly with beef. It wasn't bad at all, Brisket styles vary like crazy. Most people will really enjoy it. Ribs were very good for little ribs. Flavors of the pork and the rub and the sauce on top (which I usually hate) didn't compete with each other at all. Very nicely done. Text of the meat came right off the bone without the rest of the meat destroying itself like it sometimes does. Great Ribs Smoked Chicken, usually when I see "Smoked Chicken" that means a 1/4 chicken that's been smoked. Well I got shredded chicken but I'm not sure if it was supposed to be like that or not. Anyways, it was fine, a little cold, kinda had that weird texture that chicken doesn't usually have but for some reason when you shred it and leave it for a while it develops it's own like ... I don't want to say rubbery but kinda like that texture. I know that sounds bad but this chicken wasn't bad, it was fine. Came with some Pickles! (Yes!) Actual Texas Toast! (Not a Weird American White Garlic Bread) And some Chopped Slaw! (Not stringy cabbage, chopped and little cubes of it) Thought they were all great, no complaints. Mac and Cheese was generic and just okay super market hot bar style. Nothing gross but no love. Pit Beans were surprisingly less powerful than I thought they would be. 1 cube of pork in there, not a great ration of beans to sauce, definitely some onions and maybe some garlic, sauce was much more on the mild BBQ flavor side rather than the Brown sugar type but these are called "Pit Beans" not "New England Baked Beans" so you should expect it to be a little non traditional up here. Fried Cornbread is Awesome! It's Hush Puppies though. Good call on naming it "Fried Cornbread" most people up here don't know about Hush Puppies and it doesn't sound anywhere near as delicious as Fried Cornbread. And you can dip them in a little Honey Butter! YUM! Sauces are kinda crazy. Especially that Sweet Chipotle, It's like super spicy meats SUPER Topical Citrus! And the two flavors are fighting in your mouth. My tongue was burning but I could still taste super strong oranges. The others I could tell were made there and they were all great but I didn't need em on any of my stuff. We were out for a drive in the country on a Sunday afternoon when I saw the sign for 'Davis Barbecue' on Rte. 62. A hidden gem in the middle of nowhere with excellent barbecue. Great choices with outstanding quality. We had the combination plates with pulled pork, ribs and pulled chicken that were excellent. Our sides were grilled vegetables, cole slaw and corn bread, we couldn't finish all the food and took a box home. Amazing bbq in the middle of no where. Brisket very good ribs excellent as was pulled pork. We got 2 meat platter that comes with 2 sides. Pit beans were out of this world with pork meat inside it. Nice clean restaurant with small outside patio. They also have beer and liquor. It's not cheap is the only complaint. There's an up charge on brisket and ribs so $72 for 2 two meat platters with drinks is not cheap. They have great bbq sauces on the side. Friendly people and staff. You pay first then take a seat and they bring food to table. They have cookie Sundays for 2 and 1. You can smell the bbq as you enter the building as smokers are right outside. read more

My partner and I had been craving BBQ after a lackluster experience the day before. We knew this place was in the area so we decided to stop by and give it a shot. The staff were all pleasant and no one made us feel like we were inconveniencing them when we asked for a lid for our sides to take home. Staff regularly stopped by the other patrons inside to see how things were going and engaged in small talk; didn't seem forced, just nice banter with locals. The food was pretty commonly priced for New England BBQ but my partner and I stuck with pulled pork platters. The pork was tender and juicy, though it came pre seasoned in a Kansas City style sauce, so it had a tomato-chili kind of flavor. At first I was a little off put having it come presauced, but in the end it was pretty good. It came with two sides, white bread, and some pickles. We ordered fries cornbread, beans, macaroni and cheese, and onion tubes. The corn bread was a bit savory, the beans were sauced similarly to the pulled pork, the macaroni and cheese was the right amount of Gouda flavor, and the onion tubes were crisp and a little greasy- which is to be expected. Overall, it hit the spot. If you crave BBQ and want something pretty local, it's a great spot for the kids and family. read more

Great food but the portions are very small for the price. For example our 3 meat platter came with one small slice of brisket, 3 ribs and a handful of burnt ends. We were at the farm today as a family, and tried the dine in restaurant before leaving. The food was just ok, and like others have noted the brisket is overly fatty, too thinly sliced (think thick deli slices) and was chewy; the ribs were decent, and the sauces were really good, small sides, but they were tasty (mac and cheese, coleslaw, and corn bread. The portions are small, and the food was pricey. A two meat combo, a tofu bowl, kids.meal, and a beer and wine was $67. For that money, they should be giving you.much larger portions. I've been here twice. My first time visiting Davis bbq I got the three meat combo. I got my order to go and when I grabbed my container I was concerned with the overall weight of my order. The food was ok, ( I've had better brisket )but I don't plan on getting there three meat combo in the future. My second time was today and I got the burnt ends bowl. It was nothing special, again the portion was skimpy. My girlfriend got the kids pulled pork with french fries. Although the sandwich was up to par the fries were stale. There is no atmosphere related to anything bbq except the smell. Smells good, that's where the good ends. I got a 2 meat combo, 24.95, its a $4 upcharged if you want brisket as one of the meats. The pulled pork I got was lost in the salt. Not just salty, so much so, my mouth, lips and tongue were swollen dry within 30 minutes of finishing. I got burnt ends, 6 small cubes ( slightly larger than dice cubes ) of salty beef. The fried cornbread was ok but dry. Coleslaw tasted like it came from a tub ofmass produced coleslaw. I also got the chicken wings... mushy. I let my waitress know about the salty pulled pork and the small potion of burnt ends. She just looked at me blankly and nodded. I cannot believe how any real person would give this restaurant a 4 or 5 star review. I don't believe they were honest reviews. Would not recommend. read more

YUM! Ended up here on a whim this evening and so happy that we did. good selection of entrees and everything was reasonably priced. The fried cornbread bites were a fun twist on a BBQ staple! The staff was attentive and service was quick, which was great since we accidentally arrived just 50min before close. The icing on the cake - after our delicious meal we got to take our 18mo old son to check out the indoor animal exhibit which he LOVED which made it worth all the while. Oey vey. We've been to Davis BBQ a handful of times, tried something different each time, giving it another go in my opinion too many times, because we frequent the farm anyways. Basic, mediocre BBQ. Nothing to write home about. The wings are the best item here. And their house made hot sauce is great to the point of being able to bottle it & sell it. The sides are mediocre at best. No greens, no mashed potatoes or potato salad, no cucumber salad, corn bread is deep fried- (why??!) no dirty rice, they do offer baked beans, but no black beans or Cajun style beans, which are more traditional with BBQ (also baked beans are weirdly tangy- one of the very few items that was actually not sweet enough- despite everything seemingly tasting sweet) The Mac & Cheese is good, but I would hope so bc you can't really mess up a sickening amount of butter, cream, and melted cheese on pasta. Slaw was bleh. Unfortunately the pulled pork comes pre-sauced which is not authentic BBQ, and is usually a cop out for dry and flavorless pulled pork. The sauce they toss it in is too sweet. The burnt ends were all blubber, the ribs are good but slightly dry, good smoke ring at least- could definitely use more spraying down or more fat content. THANKFULLY these are not sauced at least. All in all, get yourself some wings, hot sauce, and maybe some ribs, Get the fries or the artery-assaulting Mac & Cheese as your side, that's your best bet. On another note, I appreciate the effort made with the alcoholic beverages- not only draft beer, but last time I went they had moonshine peach iced tea, as well as their standard frozen margarita "adult slushies" in the shack. I've been waiting for these guys to open since I saw their teaser on Facebook. They did not disappoint! The place look great, modern facility in beautiful country setting. Friendly staff, although green - as it was the first day open. I had the three meat platter with burnt ends, brisket and chicken, wings, pit beans and cucumber salad, my wife had the Gouda Mac and cheese and the baby had the nuggets. The burnt end and beans were amazing, as was the BBQ sauce. I'll be back for more! I called in for pick- up, but they had plenty of seating and looks like they even served beer, wine and liquor too! I look forward to dining in next time. The joint is located at the popular Davis Farmland - a summer destination for kids and families. Overall it's average and it's a hit or miss each time. Consistency is not on par. You can order a meal one time (e.g. chicken finger plate) and it's totally different the following time (e.g. type of chicken finger was not the same, reminded me of a McDonald's chicken nuggets). Timing is also not very good, if they say it's ready in 30 mins, show up 15 mins early. Couple times our food has been stone cold (like it's been sitting for a while). From the start, I can't remember the last time I visited an establishment with a friendlier staff ( maybe I never have‍) always a pleasant start! Then we move on to the food!!! If your craving BBQ, you cannot go anywhere else. I think we've tried just about everything!! Best Wings, so flavorful and meaty! Burnt ends to die for! The "bowl" creations are perfect! A must-try gem! The ambiance was comfortable and warm, service was friendly and prompt. The place was spotless and Carmen the manager was an absolute joy who made us feel like family. The quality of the food was very good. You can tell that everything is made from scratch. The brisket was cooked perfectly with a lovely marbling of fat that made it moist and tender. The ribs literally fell off the bone and figuratively melted in my mouth. These were easily on my top 10 list of best meats I've ever had. For sides, I'd recommend the french fries which were cooked perfectly (not easy to do!) and served with their own homemade Campfire sauce. (I bought a bottle to take home it was that good). The roasted veggies were yummy and the cucumber salad refreshing. To end the evening, we stopped by the connected animal petting barn which my kids went nuts over. The barn was very clean (for a barn) and the animals friendly and well taken care of. You may see some older reviews complaining of the food and service and I won't discount their experiences. I will point out that this restaurant is only months old and I think they've come a long way in working out the kinks, as any new restaurant must do.
