Coming in from Ft. Gordon, GA, we wanted poke, since we've been eating poke our whole life due to being from Hawaii. We arrived to the location and were a bit puzzled. They have a huge sign on the building, but at first glance the building looks closed or abandoned. The tinted windows didn't help since we couldn't see in. We even called to ask the hours because he honestly thought it was closed. We walked in and it's beautifully decorated. They explained to us the process and we ordered. Great customer service. The poke was fresh and was a good portion. Since I'm pregnant, i had to settle for a tofu burrito and just imagine it was fish. It was pretty good. We'd definitely come back when we're in town. How can I NOT love a place that offers Cheeto dust as a topping on their rice and salad bowls? We just enjoyed a fantastic, fresh, and quick lunch at Fresh Poke. I had the Volcanic Eruption bowl, which was delicious. The srihacha aioli offers enough spice to add a delightful kick, not start a fire in your mouth. He had a ginger shrimp bowl and loved the "gingeri-ness" of it. NOTE: If you can't eat gluten, be careful. Most of sauces are soy-based, and the seaweed salad includes gluten. I tried this place for the first time today. The food was delicious, the college kids who prepared our food were courteous and helpful and it was very cute and clean inside. I ordered the kids bowl with tuna with a delicious spicy sweet sauce and it was just the right amount of dressing and seasoning and the ingredients were all very fresh. I ordered a kids bowl, because I find most adult portions to be too much and apparently the poor kid who prepared my food didn't know that they were reserved for children 10 and under, which ended up creating an issue, but honestly, it was the perfect amount of food but apparently the management is passionate about that 10 and under rule, even though it isn't posted, so if you want less food take someone with whom you can share. In summary, the food is great and so is the atmosphere, but the customer service sucks. The reason I'm only giving this a 3 star rating is because of my encounter with the manager (owner?) and I consider customer service a big part of my experience when I go out to eat. So that's it for my review. If you're interested, this was my encounter with the manager. I don't care for "reviews" that are complaints in disguise, so I'm posting it separately. The manager/ owner was cashiering and when I went to pay her, I inquired about military discounts. They do honor them, so that's a positive in their favor. But, when she saw my portion, her tone became hostile and she made a bit of a scene about it. She demanded to know who prepared my bowl, then she chastised me, because unbeknownst to me, they're only for children 10 and under, and said that I was going to have to pay for a full sized bowl. I was mildly taken aback, but I apologized for my error because I'm not a Karen, and I wasn't trying to pull anything over on anyone. I explained that this was my first time visiting the establishment and that my usual poke spot allows it, that I didn't see anything about that rule on either of the menus, and told I ordered it because of my feelings about portions and that I didn't see any other options for smaller portions, to which she responded that next time I should just order a full sized bowl with less rice. I never argued with her or raised my voice, I just let her rant and eventually she told me she'd let me have it this time, but not again. Then she told me twice that she was no longer going to honor the military discount on my meal, even though I never asked or argued with her about that either. I'm guessing she probably deals with a lot of broke college kids who are trying to get something for nothing, but her extreme reaction was unwarranted, especially since I wasn't responding in kind. It wasn't a good experience at all, and could have been handled much more appropriately. So, I won't be back. read more

While dining in the vista you'll usually add to the cost of going on most days except Sunday. Parking is available here right out front or a small distance across the street. The general consensus is everyone loves this place for your poke fix. I'm more apt to grab a regular sushi burrito for lunch with its many toppings. I would like to see the sushi burrito served w a small cup of squid salad or siracha peas to make the dish more complete. Also when you spend one hundred dollars you get five dollars off your meal that day. It should be at least a free regular burrito or a poke bowl minus the additional charges. But me and wife love the place something different than same old boring options day in and day out ! Think about those little sides and better improve your rewards program and it's a easy five stars location. Nice decor and seating area with some succulent plants gives this establishment a nice vibe while eating. read more

So excited this place finally opened right next door!! The only bad part is I'm moving from Columbia next week. I'm still glad I got to try it because it is phenomenal. I got the Fresh Classic with avocado (good portion - upcharge as with any place) and my friend got the Volcano with a few extras too. We both devoured all of it. The tuna and salmon was really fresh and tasty, and everything that accompanied it was also delicious. While it's a bit on the pricier side (overall I think $26 for both) I think it's worth it and can compete with the poke I've had from the North Shore. Great addition to the Vista! read more
