My wife & I have heard about this place for years. Today we decided let's go for lunch. We walked in at 11:50, got seated right away (but right by the waiter station where it's so loud) It then took about 15 min to get our water, Then another 10 min for the waiter to come back and take our order. We were very disappointed in the service. It took about 25 min for our food to be made and when they finally brought it the food was a 6/10 not bad but nothing to write home about. while the service was really nice I didnt like that this place charges an assumed 18% tip with the meal. this rubs me the wrong way with service and I likely would have tipped 20% but knowing this is something they do, I didnt like it. The food was pretty good. Overall for 2 was about $100 bucks with an appetizer , a sushi roll, a burger, and another entree. I thought that was a bit steep. I eat in and take out often. This is the 3rd in a few weeks that my sushi order was wrong! I've ordered the Volcano roll in the past, the pink dragon roll too.... Both are supposed to come with "warm kani salad" on top. The last 3 times I've gotten a slice of imitation crab on top, NO kani salad! It's very frustrating when you are paying such high prices for sushi, they should make it correct! $21 and $23! The menu clearly states "warm kani salad", not a piece of imitation crab! I tried calling once to complain, but most don't speak fluent English so it was impossible to explain and get answers! Do not go here and this why----A server staff seated us outdoors in the shade in a corner. We are 3 old ladies, handicapped with walkers and canes. We we're happy to wait for menus. After 10 minutes a boss instructed the server to tell us he needed the table we had been seated at. " you are not on my list here. I need this table for these people." There was a big empty table in the sun for a big family that was on his list. The boss did not seat them there. He insisted they needed our table which was a four top. We declined to be moved in the sun to a table for 6 when we were only three. We left the restaurant. And went to Soho Deli a short walk away with plenty of outdoor seating under cover, but you have to go inside to order and must carry your food outside. Easily one of the best kosher meals I've ever had! We started off with the crunchy spicy tuna roll, which was fantastic. Tuna was fresh and presentation was very nice. Moved on to the tuna burger that came with a pretzel bun, ordered it medium rare and it came out great. It was still amazing. All the while, I had the "mango Pilates" smoothie...not the most masculine thing I've committed to in my life but well worth the risk! Haha, truly it was delicious. My wife went with pappardelle pasta with mushrooms. The waiter, Andrés, was beyond helpful. Great energy and he was very honest about all the selections. He let us know that because the pappardelle is made with vinegar and white wine so some people don't like the taste. We decided to give it a chance and thank G-d we did! This was the best pasta dish I can remember having. Decided we couldn't leave without dessert. Andrés recommended the dulce de leche cheesecake. Personally, I'm not a fan of cheesecake, BUT dang. It's good. My wife LOVED it. Absolutely phenomenal. Big thank you to Andrés and the rest of his team at Fresko for giving us one of the best meals we've had in a while. I've enjoyed going to Fresno several times in the past, but I have never experienced poorer service to the degree I did, last night. I usually don't write reviews, but I felt obligated to make this account to keep the owners knowledgeable about the subtle decline in service that is happening at Fresko's. This terrible review is to highlight the terrible service because it was absolutely OVERT & WARRANTED. February 1st, 2020, between 7:30 and 8:30pm, well into a long day of work, a friend and I entered the moderately busy restaurant to grab some sushi. We genuinely like Fresko's quality of food and they have outlets available for customers, so we grabbed a seat in the corner, plugged our laptops in and was handed menus. We waited. (Disclosure, we were on our phones, but still... an "excuse me" would've been respected, no doubt.) It took a little time for us to get a waiter to the table. We understand, it's busy. Now, the woman came to the table. Brunette in a high bun, black pants, red glasses. She started out fine, but we could see the smile fade before she's walked away. She ends up being very sarcastic. We asked for water with limes. We were given 2 glasses of water and 3 limes. When I asked to see if we could get more limes, a different server, older woman, hurried away, pretending not to hear me. I like to order more than one dish from Fresko, but only after finishing the previous meal. I kindly asked to leave one menu on the table. She said okay, but came by about 3 times to get the menu. I assumed they were running out of menus. I'd be happy to give the menu, but there was no communication. She would ask us if we needed anything, but with almost no intention to help, while grabbing the menu. We could both tell she wasn't really listening. It was unfortunate, she was more interested in taking the menu than seeing if I wanted to order more, which I did! But it was a struggle to tell her as she would walk away from the table before I could finish. Several other waiters came to the table, while she avoided us. When I called over the manager, he listened. But she continued. The last straw was when my friend ordered, the woman brought the wrong thing. We waited a while before I had to walk up to her and let her know that's not was we ordered. My friend felt uncomfortable by everything going on, so I had to address it... I wanted it to be an honest mistake, so when I mentioned it to her I was nice and understanding, but she insisted we were wrong. I nodded in disagreement and asked for the check, which never did come until I got up again. I asked the manager for her name and he refused to tell me. I saw a twisted side of the establishment last night. My friend and I won't be returning until there are waiters who enjoy their jobs enough to show decency to paying patrons and new, efficient management. read more

Two adults and two children, with a "sug ser charge" of 18%. Takes the joy out of tipping, and also explained the poor service. What a wonderful surprise. The vegetable soup with the broccoli base was fantastic. I wish I would've gotten a bowl and not a cup. I had a goat cheese salad which has a really good Dijon mustard dressing. my daughter had the pasta which was also really good and for dessert we split it strawberry banana smoothie which tasted really fresh. Open about two months ago, Fresko; a kosher spin on the health bar idea is located next door to Heavy Burger on NE 29th Avenue, in the back part of the Loehmann's Fashion Island extension. Fresko offers a variety of things from smoothies, salads, wraps, pizzas, and desserts to even breakfast. With the exception of Friday; closes at 3:00pm, and being closed on Saturday in observance of the Sabbath, Fresko is open the rest of the days until 8:00pm; 9:00pm on Sundays. Upon our entering, we were greeted right away by the friendly staff; that is very knowledgeable of the menu. The atmosphere of Fresko; to quote an Outkast song is..."so fresh and so clean." Bright with some earthy tones, and a continuous lounging house track, Fresko welcomes you to bask in its being the minute you walk through the door. Today, I and my two girl friends ordered the Pressata Caprese, Mediterranean pizza and the Tuna Avocado wrap. I also had to have one of their smoothies as its ingredients caught my eye...the Green Lemonade with basil and mint leave infusion. WOW! a tad tart; how I like it, but with a fragrance so fantastic; mint and basil, that this smoothie could serve as a palate cleanser in between courses easily. When our food came everything looked so fresh, but the colors unexpectedly jumped right off the plate at you, especially the Mediterranean pizza. Each bite was more delicious than the last as you always tasted some different ingredient within the item, as they all came together like Voltron as you continued. As we waited patient until 8:10 they were waiting on a takeout order that obviously was much more important than the dozen people waiting outside. Fresko is the BEST sushi in all of Aventura. We have tried them all, and the rolls here are so good. Also the bowls and juices are incredible. I recommend red dragon, kakuni crunch, samba and new dinamita. Soooo good! They are closed on Fridays for dinner and Saturday for lunch. read more

Anyways to start I order the soup of the day which was green peas and the tuna tostones those were good honestly nothing out of this world. What I was most dissatisfied with was the salmon. We got 2 salmons $34 each, with a side of veggies and sweet potatoe fries. The sides were good but the salmon was terrible. We got one without the teriyaki sauce and the other one with the sauce, unfortunately it did not matter what you got it with it was so bad that my friend woke up the next morning and he just had an after taste from the food. Terrible customer service. We walked in at 11:20 after being told we don't need reservations. They refused to let us order the breakfast menu and receive it once we sat. So when we got seated outdoors at 11:25 we assumed we still had time to order breakfast, however the waitress came after 11;30 and the breakfast was no longer available. So instead of this being a $50 breakfast it turned into a $130 lunch The manager here with the beard if an awful people person and very petty and unreasonable. Did not care that we have little children waiting to eat. Instead pressuring us to sit down and get out of the way of the running waiters. My nieces made Sheva Brachos for my daughter in a private room in Fresco and I'm giving it 2 stars to be generous. The sushi appetizers were good but everything else was mediocre at best. For example the penne vodka was tasteless the tuna main dish was so over cooked (and had a freezer taste) it was inedible. The cooked salmon was dry and tasteless. The desserts were awful. Waitress said wrap is almost done and until we finished arguing for five minutes she agreed to remove capers and onions. The waitress then didn't stop by our table the whole meal.
