I wanted to provide positive feedback, but the latter part of my experience won't allow me to. When I stopped in to pick up my suit, the pants were too tight, despite the fact that I had lost weight since my initial fitting. The sales associate, who expressed little concern or empathy, said there wasn't anything that could be done but I was welcome to try the next size up. The next size up proved to be far too large. The associate said I could try the modern fit, instead of the slim fit, which was the first time I had ever been told about this option. Upon trying on the modern fit, they seemed slightly better, but still not tailored to my fit. I decided to try these instead and was told I could come back in two days to pick everything up. When I returned to the store, prepared to try them on, the associate that helped me this time didn't even give me the option to try on the suit. They said at this point if they didn't fit, there was nothing that could be done other than go up to the next size, which were already determined to be far too big. Again, the associate's empathy was severely lacking. I was also very disappointed that I was told during my fitting that I couldn't move the store I would be picking up from. The associate said that based on my address, Orange was the closest store to me. Yet it wasn't. The Irvine, Costa Mesa and Anaheim locations were all closer. There was a time when suits and tuxedos were custom tailored to fit each person. Now, each person must fit into "off the shelf" sizes. This model seems completely lacking in personalization or in a fit that is anything but flattering. Friar Tux has found a way to ruin the rental experience. read more

I am extremely disappointed with this shop. My dad had received his suit 2 days before my wedding, after being told it was going to be ready several weeks earlier. All the suits for my wedding party were done with another shop/company. The suits for those came in with no issue or delay. With Friar, unfortunately, we never received any communication from them - probably since we paid in full in the beginning and they already had our money. My father and I went to this location in Orange, as it was a good meeting point for us based on where we each live. He drove out to the location several times from Riverside County as he never received a call or information on his suit by phone or email - on top of having a hard time getting info when calling in. Upon receiving his suit, the shirt was still wrong. They also tried giving the excuse that the size he ordered only comes in a short cut - but they took his measurements and placed the order in shop with us. So, if that was actually the case, then they should have clarified that detail with us while ringing us up seeing as none of the shirts he tried on were a short cut. Luckily, we did receive the suit just barely in time - despite also getting an ill fitted shirt that they didn't tell us was a short cut until we got it, and he could hardly tuck in, that we replaced with a Macy's shirt. read more

I do not recommend this location to do business in. I was here accompanied by my husband and stepfather as both were being fitted for a tux. I requested to use their restroom and was told Friars Tux does not have restrooms. I was told that the restrooms at the Chevron next door were very clean or the Carl's Jr across the street was another option. I hate businesses that are happy to take your money for services but are too cheap to allow their customers to flush the toilet once. I think with the $487.90 we paid for both tux rentals left them with plenty of money to allow a customer in need to relieve themselves. read more

So this review is solely based on the quality of the tuxedos. My cousin was getting married and we needed tuxedos so we decided to go to Friar tux customer service was excellent. Everybody was super friendly they got us in and out super fast. We picked a second most expensive tuxedo, which was like $220 and the shoes which were $25 Fast forward a little bit to the day of the wedding all the groomsmen's, including myself were complaining about the pants being too big the shoes were too tight. It was a complete and utter disaster so disappointed with friar tux. I'm not want to complain so I didn't ask for a refund or any type of any type of compensation But buyer beware. I'm sorry but I'll never go back to fried tuxedo again super super super. Super disappointed I've used fryer tuxedo in the past and everything was fine but for whatever reason this time the pants were just not good the jacket vest everything was OK but the pants and shoes unfortunately did not fit. Keep in mind I did try my tuxedo pants on three days before and they felt OK but for whatever reason at the time of the wedding, the password, no good and there's no way I could've gained or lost 5 to 10 pounds in a couple days. read more

My last encounter with Friar Tux was probably during prom season many moons ago. Once again, I make a celebrity appearance to one of these shops. I originally was at Men's Warehouse. I was convinced that for the price, a custom made suit was the way to go. Due to some budget constraints from the other groomsmen, we collectively decided on a cheaper alternative. We made a stop at Friar and the deals there could not be beat. We all settled on the dark navy suit for the wedding. The entire process was seemingly smooth. The customer service was impeccable. I was helped out by Melanie, the store manager. She was very easy to work with, incredibly knowledgeable, and overall a very friendly person. If you're looking for suits that don't fit, don't get altered, and that come with holes and stains, this is probably the place for you. Subpar service throughout the entire process and I had to get my garment tailored myself (out of pocket) less than a week before my event. Not to mention suits costing 1.5x-2x as much as local, small businesses that offer better service and a better selection. As someone who's found great family owned tailors through my own formals, proms, weddings, and finally my own wedding, find someone else to outfit you and yours. Literally anyone else. read more

Came in to return some suspenders. Been sitting here for over 40 minutes now when a return could have happened within 5 minutes or less. The check-in system should be for people interested in renting a suit, they are literally sticking with each client until they know what they want before they move to the next client?.. This is such a slow process, not like it's busy. Why should someone wait for all the people to be helped when doing a quick return? Can people not multi task anymore these days? They could have easily checked the check-in list to see the reason I was in since you need to state the reason when checking in. Someone from corporate, please look into the system/process here. Just a big facade. Sent the time to get measurements for my "custom" suit for my brothers wedding. When it finally arrived after filling out all of their measurements and being measured by my tailor. The suit fit like crap and was very obviously just an off the rack suit. The tags on it also confirmed that. $150 "custom" suit needed $150 in tailoring. The suit is fine especially for the price. Just don't listen to any of the BS about anything being custom. It's not in any way shape or form. read more

We rented 9 tuxes for our wedding in September 2021. Only 2 out of the 9 were even close to fitting. We are talking 2 sizes wrong for some pants, shirts etc... The stress and inconvenience caused by rubbing back and forth for so many people was ridiculous. This company and location don't have any follow through. You can leave them dozens of messages and emails and no one will ever get back to you. Even when you try to contact them within their suggested business hours you'll be directed to their voicemail. Their hours and days of operation do not match their website nor their corporate offices designation for their operating time frame. When I ordered the tux I specifically asked if I could pay over the phone at the time of shipping and they said yes. Then on the day of shipping I call to pay and they tell me they don't accept over the phone payments and and I have to use their website. The tux finally arrived and the measurements were far from okay. The tux looks terrible. I have continued to reached out several times with no response, trying to get the tux returned and refunded. Their company and location leave a lot of work to do if they want to be a decent tux rental operation. read more
