    Couch Potato Mini

We tried the hottest new pizza place in town yesterday, Frico Pizza! This was my first time trying Detroit Style Pizza and I was surprised at how fluffy it was inside, almost like foccacia. That Couch Potato was definitely my favorite, loved the combination of cheeses and potato. (I will never say no to carbs on carbs ) Here's what we got: Sausage & Spice Pizza Regular Cheese & NY Hot Honey Mini Couch Potato Cannolis (Dark Chocolate & Ube) Just know there is limited seating inside. 1429 Broadway # B, Sacramento, CA 95818 Follow @eatwithmepolly for more fun foodie finds and experiences!

Don't have anything bad to say about this place. I tried the deep dish pizza to go once and had to come back to try the regular pizza. I do prefer the deep dish but regular pizza was good too! The ingredients are good quality, nice flavors that go together and love the hot honey! Some unique combos here. The downside is if you come in the evening they run out of the deep dish & seating is a little limited, so if you want to eat there gotta hope there is a table. But these pizzas pack a punch in flavor and are so freakin good! You can order on the kiosk or with someone at the register which is nice! I also love that you can get a "mini" deep dish the packaging is really convenient and travel friendly.

If you like Detroit-style pizza, Frico's is where it's at! After seeing this brand-new business pop up and Rachel posting it on her IG, my taste buds were screaming at me to come get some! Frico's was easy to find, right next to the School of Rock. I can see where parking could become limited on a busy night, though. I was excited walking in, not really knowing what to expect... well, yes, I knew PIZZA!!! So let's get in there! When I walked in, I noticed an industrial, upscale type of setting. No one greeted me, but after glancing around, I noticed there were kiosks at the front. After checking out the menu, and since it was just me today, I only had to figure out what kind of pizza I wanted. I went with the Detroit Regular Hot Honey for $27: house tomato sauce, mozzarella, crispy cupped pepperoni, whipped ricotta, fresh basil, Grana Padano, and a drizzle of hot honey. I added extra basil for $1. I paid right there at the kiosk and went looking for a place to sit and eat. The dining area is very small, with four tables that can easily seat up to about 16 patrons total. Since I was there in the early afternoon, two tables were occupied and one was dirty, leaving one last table at the end of the restaurant. I was totally okay with that because I was closest to their in-wall bottle-filling station. I sat for 24 minutes before my Detroit-style pizza was ready. These do take some time because of the thickness of the crust. That was actually the first interaction I had with anyone. She called my name, handed me my order in a box, and walked away. I noticed other customers were told that paper plates, utensils, cheese, and peppers were available on the counter. Perfect! After taking a few pictures, I grabbed myself a paper plate and LOTS of cheese and peppers. Gorgeous Detroit-style pizza! It was more dressed up than I was! The crispy cupped pepperoni, beautiful dollops of whipped ricotta, and basil tossed on top looked delicious (but was missing the extra basil I paid for). Eating it without getting some on your face was nearly impossible, but it was SO GOOD! The crispy edges had a flavor all their own, separate from the rest of the pizza and toppings. Each savory bite invited you to take another... and then your taste buds would get surprised by that little touch of hot honey. Mmmm... I definitely look forward to trying some of their other creations at Frico's very soon!

*2nd attempt to dine review* First trip here was on a Friday night with the family and the line was out the door. Got inside and asked what thebwait was and was told it was an estimated 2hr wait, so we left to come again some other time. This time my girlfriend and I came in on a Sunday afternoon. This time there was no wait and we ordered at the Kiosk, sat inside to eat, and waited maybe 30 minutes if that to get our food. What initially interested me in trying Frico is they amazing looking Detroit style pizzas, but the sign at the front door when we arrived. Said they were sold out until like 5pm that day, so we went with their NY pizza options. We ordered the following: NY Hot Honey pizza Ube + Dark Chocolate Canoli's The Hat Honey pizza was really good. Sweet from the use of actual honey, and chopped basil on top with pipes of Ricotta on top of. The ricotta was a little different, it has the consistency of mash potatoes and left to be a little much for me. With the Canoli's, the Ube one has a nice purple hie to it, which is cool, but I didn't notice the Ube in the canoli. So it taste like a standard one to be. The dark chocolate one was really rich, and I couldn't finish it. Definitely something I could only have 1 of in a sitting. Overall: Pizza was delicious, but the ricotta was a little much for me, with the amount per placememt. But it did have good flavor. The Canoli's I wouldn't get it as they were ok in my opinion. I would definitely come back to try the NY Hot Honey again, and or to try other combinations. And I do still want to try the Detroit style pizza.

First visit to Frico (what used to be a Jamba Juice) by our old home in downtown. As you can guess, a bit small for a restaurant since the space was your average juice bar size place. The food! 1. Favorite: Chicken Mushroom Ranch! Though similar to the Couch Potato, we really enjoyed the grouping of flavors on this one. On a crisp-edged deep dish style pizza, the chicken and mushroom were excellent toppings. 2. Couch Potato. Also has the same green colored ranch drizzled on top, but the potatoes were cut like pepperonis and sparsely placed. Also includes bacon but, in generally, less flavorful. Still very good, though. We definitely want to come back and try the tomato-based sauce based pizzas (they look great). Notes: - Only 4 dining tables - Self ordering - Workers at the counter were friendly, when we needed something - during busy hours, ORDER AHEAD!

Love a pizza joint that offers both Detroit and NY-style pizza so I had to get both to compared. Personally, my favorite was the NY-style Triple Threat pizza, bursting of flavors in every bite and perfect amount of crust-to dough ratio. The roasted garlic on the pizza was icing on top. The Chicken Ranch Detroit pizza was also delicious but the stand out was the Triple Threat. I came on a Friday night around 4pm, their online order system was closed already. They have a couple of self order system kiosks. I waited about 30 minutes for my pizzas, which wasn't too bad. There are a few self service tables available, but I grabbed mine togo, so I can't say much about the service. FYI they have their own parking lot, which is always a major plus. Definitely check this place out!

I made an online order it said it will take an hour. When I got there, there was plenty of parking place. I walked inside and there was only 4 tables available to eat. I came there and it took a little over an hour . Once I got my pizza they did not offer any Parmesan cheese , or pepper . I wanted to ask for ranch but I forgot because I was starving . I brought home the pizza and it was too oily for my liking . I liked the pepperoni with the hot honey but it was a pool of oil in each pepperoni. I understand pepperoni gets oily from the heat. But at least dab it off or something. By the time I got home the pizza was not crispy. Probably from soaking in a pool of oil. I felt like it needed more sauce and cheese . For 30 dollars I expect them to dab off the oil before giving it to the customers . In my opinion it's over hyped from influencers and not worth the wait.

Get your Frico on! Good first visit. Ordered online to use a 20% off promo from IG (@fricopizzaco). I just heard about this new pizza joint on the corner of Broadway/15th, and being that football just started, I immediately ordered a "Modern Supreme" NY-style pizza and lemon pepper chicken wings, to pick up after work. Online it said the pick up time was in 1 hour. It was ready in half an hour. There is a designated pick up window for all online and 3rd party delivery orders that's located on the 15th Street side of the building. Plenty of parking in the shared lot. There is a little doorbell at the window. A friendly guy (the owner) handed me 2 pizza boxes, a small for the wings/celery sticks/ranch and a larger one for the pizza. I forgot to ask (nor was it offered to me) for napkins, cheese and peppers. I loved the toppings on the "Modern Supreme"-crispy cupped pepperoni, fennel sausage, roasted garlic, peppadew peppers, roasted mushroom, red onion, and finished with gremolata (a green herbaceous sauce) and Grana Padano (a hard cheese). The crust was perfectly chewy and pliable, as a NY pizza should be. My husband thought the crust was "soggy" (But it wasn't. I had to explain it was soft and foldable), so he obviously prefers a more crispier traditional crust. I thought it was a great pizza, especially the roasted garlic. Next visit I'm trying the "Detroit Style Island Remix." It's got Spam on it! The chicken wings were delicious, even though they tasted more like naked wings. I didn't get any lemon pepper flavor at all. I got the 6 wings ($14), and 5 out of 6 were all a good size, but 1 flat was half the size of the others. Size of each piece should all be consistent, since 1 wing is over $2. Ranch dressing was good. Welcome to Land Park! Can't wait to get my Frico on again!

Super excited for this Asian-owned establishment. There is a water refill station and four four-top tables inside. Very clean and good functional reuse of the sauce containers as table decor. The staff were helpful. I will say you should order in advance otherwise there is a bit of a wait, especially during lunch. We ordered two MD Mini Detroit pizzas - the hot honey and the sausage spice - to try different ones. The Detroit style slices are massive and oily but so so good. There is a cheese crust encasing the outer edge of the slices. I would say the hot honey pepperoni was extremely flavorful, maybe a bit on the salty side. The sausage spice was very good, ingredients are super fresh and this one felt a bit lighter but not as balanced flavorwise. With some intentional bites, you can definitely manage the right balance!

Food is decent, tastes fresh but crusts on all three pizza were burnt. We ordered a cheese, a cheese with plant based pepperoni, and a hot honey plant based pepperoni. The wedges are delicious and seasoned with a lemon pepper seasoning blend. I went wanting a Detroit style pizza but there was a sign inside that said that pizza style isn't available until after 5p. I arrived at 4:15p :( The service was friendly and the pizzas take about 45-an hour to prepare. Ambiance is underwhelming, 4 tables and chairs so plan take out unless you get lucky and grab a table. Reggae music playing in the background is a nice touch.

Pizza and breadsticks are 10/10! The wait is like 40-45 minutes when you are doing take-out, but this was on a Friday night at like 8 o'clock. The establishment is not really meant for dining in, but the service was clear, quick, and easy. Once again, the hot honey pepperoni was legendary!

Welcome to Land Park! Ordered the NY Cheese and the mini Detroit style pepperoni. What's my first time so I didn't know if they had seating. So I ordered it to go. There is limited seating, but this place is packed! Both styles were delish! Cooked perfectly and lots of flavor - minimal greasy stuff on top. I would put Frico on the same level as Tony G's Slice House. If you're passionate about your pizza gotta give these guys a try

Wow! Frico Pizza is definitely putting its own spin on the Sacramento pizza scene! I finally had the chance to try it, and the Detroit-style pizza did not disappoint. The crust is light, airy, and perfectly crisp around the edges, while that caramelized cheesy "frico" crown takes it to another level. The toppings were flavorful, the pizza was fresh, and every bite had that perfect combination of crispy, cheesy, and delicious.

My husband had their famous lasagna. It came out hot so they must bake it as you order which is great! I will say, he said it was extremely cheesy. He had to look for the pasta in it. Ambience: very comfortable, although very loud inside the dining room-background music along with many patrons conversing. But our wait staff was great. Friendly and engaging - but not over bearing. In fact, i gave this place an extra star just for the wait staff. Other than that, i would rate their entrees...as decent, but there is room for improvement to help raise the bar. Hence 3.5 stars overall Appetizers: 1) fried raviolis - not bad, filled with spinach and ricotta and arrived with marinara dipping sauce 2) fried calamari- too much coating which over powered the delicacy of the squid. Plus, it arrived cold. It came with two dipping sauces which helped. Entrees: 1) Two pies: Sicilian and soppresaata & hot honey: both pies were decent, arrived straight from the oven 2) farmers market salad: very fresh greens, tender pieces of chicken but was missing the fresh corn. 3) spaghetti w/meatballs: nice entree with a mild sauce, but meatballs tasted more filler than actual meat. And the garlic bread was cold 4) rigatoni aka vodka: very nice entree and our diner ordered it with gluten free pasta 5) spaghetti parmesano: entree looked great when it arrived- mild sauce w/al dente noodles but the chicken was over cooked and even dry with a layer of mozzarella that didn't help. And again arrived with cold garlic bread. Would i return? in a few years. but the service was good which made our evening. However i wish all the pasta entrees and calamari appetizer were as good as their pies. Again, little details with their appetizers, pasta, and salad dishes would have made our dining experience more enjoyable.
