Another influencer-rated spot. This place was hyped up on IG, so I was really excited to go there and spend way too much money. This place was fine, but not great. They were completely out of the Detroit style, so I ended up trying the NY style hot honey and the chicken one. The chicken one was dry. The hot honey has good flavor, but holy Grease! A little too salty, and way too oily. The crust has a really nice crunch to it, but everything else was meh. Not to mention after ordering online it wasn't ready for FOUR HOURS. Don't order online (unless you like eating dinner at 10pm)!! Not sure if I'll be back anytime soon, but if they expand on their flavors it might be worth a second visit. read more

The Detroit-style pizza was excellent--5/5. Well executed, great texture, and easily some of the best Detroit-style pizza I've had. So good I forgot to take a picture. This is clearly where Frico shines. The NY-style pizza, however, was a 1/5. I would hesitate to even call it New York-style. It was excessively floppy, extremely oily, and the dough was dense and overly chewy. It tasted like the dough had not been properly proofed or given enough time to develop. On top of that, the pizza was not even cut all the way through. For the $30, it was very poor execution. The difference in quality between the two styles was hard to overlook. One felt refined and well executed, while the other felt careless and unfinished. That level of inconsistency made the overall experience a little lack luster. The staff was friendly, but when you operate under a bunch of young kids, they move noticeably slow. There is clearly potential here, especially with the Detroit-style pizza, but the NY-style needs significant improvement. A restaurant offering multiple styles should be able to execute them with a more consistent level of quality. read more

The pizza business is one of the most competitive businesses to get into. Very tough, and very humbling. The family that runs it is very very nice, and you can tell they're just good people. Whoever did the branding and the aesthetics, 10/10 incredible job. The place looks very cool, the boxes, the artwork, all great. For the pizza, you choose from Detroit style, or New York style, this is where the fun stopped for me. For some reason, and many New Yorkers will agree with me here, when I think New York style, I think hand stretched dough, cooked in a legitimate pizza oven. When I saw the conveyor belt oven, my expectations flew out the window. They don't stretch the dough by hand, they have this machine similar to what you'd find in a Mod Pizza type place. But hey, gave it a shot, and it wasn't terrible, I've had much much worse. I was pleasantly surprised. The cheese bread appetizer was much better than the NY pizza. There's 4 tables inside, so seating is extremely limited, I hope they offer patio seating at some point. When you sit at one of the tables inside, they still give you the food in to go boxes, that would be my first place to save money if I were them, those boxes are not cheap. If we want to eat there, just serve it on a pizza pan. I know they just opened up, and are still working out the kinks, so hats off to them. This is not any easy business to get into, but they will learn a lot. I hope it works out for them, people seem to be excited, but I'm still wondering if it's going to go viral like they want it to. At the end of the day, its the quality that matters. Make the best product possible so you don't have to rely so much on the aesthetics to sell it. read more

Had to come back and try the pizza again after my initial visit. The pizza was still amazing, the detroit pizza dough is fluffy and light. Consistency is key with a good pizza spot. This time I tried the modern supreme and it was so good the gremolatta on top sets it apart from other pizzas I have tried. Today when I came they had beer and offer it to go if you are on the run. A $3 beer is hard to find and was perfect with my pizza. Def coming back! read more

Came at a bad time. They were sold out on mostly everything. I managed to order Hot Honey pizza. It's was an amazing. According to the owner, they make the dough in-house with 2-3 day fermentation process and that the reason they sold out on everything. Ok, back to this visit, if you know NY pizza and are thinking you're getting a NY style pizza, you will be so sorely disappointed. The crust is 2-3x as thick as you would think it should be, good crunch and no flop, but far from expected. Please if you are going to call it NY, make the dough and bake like NY, otherwise it's just a regular pizza. As for the location and operation, they need some work, as there are only about three tables inside and minimal standing room, while it definitely seems like a take out centric place, if you can get through, I had to drive down and order in person and then sit in my car for 45 more, why couldn't I just have ordered online then. So glad to have a new pizza spot in the neighborhood!! Finally gave up on the online order for pick-up at the cute window I drive be every day and ventured to Frico Pizza for a Friday night treat. Tried the mini Detroit-style pepperoni and hot honey pizza with a touch of ricotta cheese. It was more than filling for two meals, which helps given the price point. My biggest critique is the amount of salt. I love me some well-seasoned eats, but this pizza was very, very, veryyyyyy salty (I think it's the sauce?) and was begging to be washed down with some beer or, well, anything. Ordered pizza at 5:30 on Friday night. Right after I ordered, I got a message saying the pizza wouldn't be ready until 7:30. I called multiple times to get a refund with no answer or return call. Showed up at 7:30 and my order wasn't ready. The owner was nice and gave me a refund because he said it wasn't even fired yet. Sat down on a table, waited waited and waited(we were the only dine in table) then we went up and inquire about our orders. Thats when they got them out of the warmer.Didnt call our names, no text( while we were eating I could hear them calling other customers' name, handed them their orders) Our pizzawere not hot, they've been sitting a while, not crispy and very greasy. Didnt cut our pizza very well, actually barely cut. Taste mediocre at best and out salad came last with a tiny container of dressing. We also ordered marinara sauce, menu said fifty cents, we were charged two dollars. Bottle coke was NOT cold. Asked for ice, no ice. Well if you're charging four dollars for bottle coke, they need to be cold or provide ice. We went to the gas station behind to get a bottle of cold soda. Too much hype! read more
