We discovered Luigi's after they catered another event and we wanted to give the restaurant a try. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, between the lunch and dinner rush. We were greeted, pleasantly, by the cashier when we walked in the door and took a seat near the kitchen so we could watch the pizzas being made through the window. After sitting for a while, our server came to take our order. I guess they get a lot of regulars who know what they want because we had to ask for menus. She left us to look over the menu, but didn't come back for a while. We had to get her attention to take our drink order, then again, to take our food order, and even to bring our food once it was done and sitting on the rack for pick up. She was so busy engaging in conversation that she was completely oblivious to the two customers (us) that she needed to take care of. Maybe she was new. Despite that, the pizza was really good. The crust was super thin and crunchy, while still being somewhat supportive of the toppings. The toppings were generous and fresh. It was amazing to find a place that has a beef lovers pizza that has such a variety of non-pork meats like beef pepperoni and canadian turkey bacon! When the pizza arrived, it came with so much meat on it that my wife had to take some of it off because it was just too much for her. No problem! I was happy to take what she couldn't handle. I visited Luigi's for the first time since the new owners took over..................which I know has been quite a few years. We were expecting a party of 12 but ultimately a group of nine showed up. I was told there is a service fee for large groups, which is no problem as that's usual and customary in the food service industry. I paid over $80 for two large pizzas; one was an all meat and one was a combination and they weren't large at all. Huge disappointments: if we're going to be charged a service charge, then the wait staff should provide service to us and check on us regularly. Initially, the young lady behind the bar brought over glasses and pitchers of ice water, but we had to ask for literally everything else which meant I had to get up multiple times to ask for refills, utensils, more plates, containers to take the few pathetic slices that were left over home, etc. I'm not able to wrap my head around why so many people think this is such a fantastic pizza place. The crust was super thin; so thin that if you held up a slice, it was like holding up a rag or a paper towel and it just flopped. The toppings were sparse. Take your business to Romas II on Folsom Boulevard unless you absolutely love high priced, soggy, paper towel thin, and sparse pizza. The two stars were for the young lady who was friendly and the young man who actually served us our pizza. They weren't rude. They were nice. They were friendly. In a Sacramento native and I've never had Luigi's. A friend wanted to come here so I obliged. Parking is a bit of a pain since you can't park on Stockton so you have to park down a residential neighborhood. We were greeted right away, handed some menus and told to sit wherever but they don't offer table service and we'd have to come back to the counter to order. We got a create your own, the Louisiana shrimp and the goes with beer pizza. The shrimp pizza tasted like a shrimp Alfredo. The goes with beer pizza had some spice from the jalapeños and loaded with pepperoni and linguica. I also ordered a lasagna to go and they forgot about it. The lasagna was horrible. It was dry and had a weird taste. Loved the pizzas but can't recommend the lasagna. Overall, lasagna aside, it was decent pizza with a thin crispy crust and good sauce. I popped into Luigi's to kill some time before an event next door and ended up having such a great little experience. I grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered a drink. Shoutout to the bartender who was super sweet and helped me craft the perfect margarita combo (we mixed strawberry and mango and it was chef's kiss... so good I had two!. I didn't get a chance to order food myself, but the event I was attending served pizza from Luigi's, so I snagged a quick taste. Even just that small bite had me wanting more, which is exactly why I'll be back! I want to actually sit down, relax, and dive into a full meal next time. The vibe of the place really stood out too. I checked out Luigi's for the first time last night after checking out Community Shop Class next door. My husband loves Luigi's and was craving pizza so this was the perfect place. I loved the old Italian pizzeria mafia feel when we walked in - you can tell this place is loved by the locals and there is a reason why it has been around for so many years - since the 1950's I believe! We ordered the Goes with Beer pizza and the Mama Mia sampler - everything was really good! We especially liked the pizza and the sampler wings. My daughter devoured the mozzarella sticks and wings! They offer $7 cocktails and $5 margaritas all summer! They even have an area with pinball machines and a room in the back for larger parties. Staff were very friendly and you could tell they really loved their jobs! I want to come back and try their pastas and salads! Sacramento classic right here. If you want a consistently great pizza, look no further than Luigi's. There is something for everyone here. My teens love the garlic bread and wings. Me and my oldest are die hard fans of the boulevard pizza. It never misses. And the ranch here is my all time favorite. The vibes are always on point. Locals frequent the joint for a bite and drink. We chose to dine in at Luigi's after 2 awesome pizzas on Mother's Day. We had a beef/mushroom and a pep, takeout. Both were awesome. Those two pizzas encouraged my Mom to call me today, about grabbing some dinner together at the restaurant. Sounds great. She preordered two pizzas, about 20-30 mins before we arrived. Upon walking in- the restaurant was empty, as we were on the extremely early side of dinner. Bartender was on the phone w a customer, guys in the kitchen were presumably making pizzas, lots of laughing. A good time was being had. Great to let off steam before service. I get it. I could see a few tickets up, but not busy for takeout yet either. Another server came, got us some additions to our order and drinks. Very helpful, great service. We sit down and wait for our order. Then wait. Then wait. After a while, the pizzas come out - both in boxes, not on a pan like I expected. TBF, who really cares - we were hungry. I open the first pie - a Luigi Special, and was pretty surprised to see how it was made. I mean, C'mon. I've had great pizzas here before plenty of times, and this one just looked like an IDGAF special. I like crispy pizzas, but parts of this were completely dried out or just missing like the bottom corner of the pizza. The second one was a beef and mushroom - and it was a far cry from what we had for takeout on Mother's Day. Toppings were scarce, and just looked rushed by the color of the dough and zero color on the bottom. This one looked and tasted very rushed. We also got the Caesar. Brown lettuce leaves, and some of the iceberg pieces near the core had that pink color to it. Didn't want to bother asking them to refire anything, we were really hungry and didn't want to wait even longer. All of it was really mediocre. After trying this pizza at a YEE event I ordered it on DoorDash! It didn't disappoint. It came hot, delicious and affordable! Let me tell you- the ranch is freaking amazing!!!! The people and service are great. It can be quite a wait when busy though. I called in an order for a small Luigi's Special, which comes with salami, their bomb homemade sausage, olives, and mushrooms, on red sauce. We always sub pepperoni for the salami. A small feeds 2-3 people, so price may seem a little high, but it's a good value and portion. I was actually craving spaghetti and meatballs so I ordered that. Never again will I order anything but pizza from Luigi's! There was hardly any bolognese (meat sauce) sauce. Most anemic spaghetti I've ever had! I added 2 meatballs ($4), which tasted like their sausage but didn't taste as good as on the pizza. The whole thing was not it. That's all I came to say. Luigi's is still one of the best pizza places in Sacramento. Just don't get the spaghetti. So if you didn't know, now you know! read more

A local pizza joint with history. Luigi's is listed as Sacramento's first pizza parlor and has been around since 1953. There's street parking in the area and walking in is like taking a step back in time. The walls are decorated with art, murals and neons and the whole vibe is welcoming, comfortable, and old school pizza parlor. They even have a collection of pinball machines in the back. I ordered at the bar and found a table. The green chairs at the hightops were surprisingly comfortable. The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh- the portions also seemed generous and the prices were fair. I ordered meatballs with marinara ($6), artichoke Jalapeno dip ($6), a Large Antipasto Salad ($9.50), a Large Pepperoni pizza ($25) and a small Boulevard pizza ($22). The meatballs came with three generously sized meatballs with plenty of sauce- these would be great with garlic bread or over pasta. The Artichoke dip was flavorful and came with fresh pizza dough strips to dip. It has a good spice level and plenty of artichoke pieces. The antipasto salad was a good size, definitely shareable, and had a nice variety of toppings. There were toppings I haven't had in an antipasto elsewhere like roasted red peppers and artichoke pieces. The pepperoni pizza had a good amount of pepperoni and cheese, but wasn't our favorite. The crust on this large pizza seemed a bit different than the small pizza we got. The Boulevard was my favorite of the two pizzas, the crust on this one seemed better and they loaded it with toppings. On both pizzas it seemed like there were crunchy bits (we think it may have been cornmeal used on the pizza paddle?) but they detracted from the experience and made it a bit tougher to enjoy the pizza. I learned that they make all their dressings in house and they sell small and large containers of ranch to take home with your food. They also have plenty of space for groups, including a party room in the back, past the arcade games. They also sell merch that you can wear back to the restaurant for a discount on your meal, which is cute for regulars. I was super happy to try this slice of Sacramento history and I'd stop by again when in the area. I also heard the sandwiches are great, so that will have to happen. read more

I stopped by Luigi's Pizza Parlor after wrapping up a Yelp event with Shop Class next door, and I couldn't have asked for a better way to end the night. The moment you walk in, you're hit with the mouthwatering smell of fresh pizza being made. Since it was late, we opted for takeout, and I went home with: - Boulevard Pizza (SML - $22) - Buffalo Wings ( 1/2 pound) Let me tell you... So. Good. You can really taste the freshness in every bite, and the fact that so many ingredients are made in-house, from the meatballs to the ranch dip, is a huge bonus for me. The small pizza was way more than enough for one person. I ended up stretching it into dinner that night, plus lunch and dinner the next day and it still tasted just as good. There's plenty of indoor seating if you want to dine in, and the decor gives off a classic, retro pizza house vibe that I loved. They've also got a full bar, which is where I spent most of my time, while I waited for my order. Let me just say, you cannot beat their $5 margaritas. The staff were also all so kind and welcoming and I'm so glad I decided to stop by! I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Came in on a busy Saturday evening, ordered an antipasto salad and meat lovers pizza. The salad was pretty mediocre but the pizza definitely redeemed it. It was full of flavor and the crust was divine ~ crispy, buttery, and thin (but not so thin it collapses ya know?) Luigi's is a staple in the neighborhood. Located on Stockton Blvd, they've been around for decades. We stopped in for dinner and happened to be there for $5 margarita night! We just had a great lunch at Luigi's, which has been in their locations since 1953! I understand why because that was some good pizza! We started with mozzarella sticks with their housemade ranch (and marinara). They were crispy and had a great cheese pull. Our daughter had a personal pepperoni pizza, which she enjoyed and was very filling - she took half of it home. My husband and I shared the Boulevard, which was a combination that we added olives to. I liked that the pizza was overly saucy, and the straight mozzarella was melty and ooey gooey in the best way. They make their own sausage, and it was very flavorful. We ordered the Luigi special and the Boulevard. The ingredients are clearly quality and fresh! They put enough toppings on where you can actually taste the toppings. They are generous, but not overly crazy with their toppings and they do dress the Pizza all the way to the edge. I do also want to mention the gal that was monitoring the distribution of pizzas. She was really good at her job and organized. She ran that area like a drill sergeant! If you haven't tried Luigi's, you will not be disappointed. I first had Luigi's pizza in 1963, when I was 8 years old. My mother would order a small salami pizza and I'd go with my dad to pick it up. I'd stay in the car out in front while he ran in to get it (a different era than now!). Never stopped loving Luigi's. The pizza was delicious then and it is still delicious now. I placed an order for pick of a large beef pepperoni w garlic and mushrooms through DoorDash. It was ready at the estimated time of pickup and was nice and hot. I dug right in as soon as I got home and IT WAS DELICIOUS. I haven't been to Luigi's In a few years because the last time I had it, it was so good. Definitely a better experience this time around. The cheese was gooey, there was plenty of pepperoni that covered the pizza and the other toppings were spread all over nicely. I'm happy I took a chance and tried them again because ....YUM.
