I don't have much to write here other than their pizza is fantastic. I only ever get it by the slice so I'm not sure if they sell whole pizzas but I'd think they do. Their cheese, pesto, pepperoni, olive and pineapple are all so good. The service is pretty quick too and there's always a line, so you know it's good! They're open late so it's the perfect post bars snack!

Was craving for just a slice of pizza. Came on a saturday - few people enjoying their slice on sidewalk tables and a few picking up takeout. Pick a slice, add what you want, and they'll reheat in oven. I noticed the thin slices instantly and couldn't wait to try. The crust was a perfect thin crisp, easy to fold in half, no sog factor, and taste was delish. No frills spot, you looking for a quick slice of good pizza, this does not disappoint. Left thinking "this is exactly what i was craving".

Hands down my favorite pizza spot to date, in Sacramento, is Marilyn's. A crunchy crust and great sauce should be enough of a selling point, but the nice outdoor seating and consistency are key. It's so often that places are great the first time but drop the ball after, but each time I go to Marilyn's it's amazing. I've never posted them on my IG without someone commenting agreeing how amazing they are. The service is always kind, it's always quick, it's always good. If they had a shirt I'd wear it!!

I will say that I used to be a huge pizza lover but have toned down quite a bit over the years due to my dietary restrictions. However, once in awhile, I'll indulge in a yummy slice of heaven. This takes me to "Marilyn's Pizza" which has grown to be a huge late night spot dating back to late-2024. Located in the heart of the Boulevard Park neighborhood of Midtown Sacramento, this place is situated directly on J St. and tucked in between 20th/21st St's which is close to much of the entertainment and nightlife. Which is a good thing because they have very generous hours of operation being open Sunday through Thursday from 11am-2am with Friday and Saturday being open as late at 3am; well after the bars stop serving last call. I came here during the afternoon on Saturday 2/21/2026 at around 4:00pm. I figure this would be a late lunch/early dinner as I figure one slice would fill me up. After making the trek there (by foot), I made my way inside. As for the interior layout and space, there isn't much at all with the exception of the register and a large display case that showcases their 8 different varieties of pizzas. This includes cheese, pepperoni, sausage/pepperoni, combination, pesto, veggie, BBQ chicken, and Hawaiian. However, I believe they do not carry gluten free crusts but I could be wrong. You have your choice of ordering either a slice or a whole pie with prices being very reasonable. Since it was my first time, I kept things simple by going with one slice of their pepperoni (priced at a reasonable $6.50) that includes their house-made red sauce, Grande whole milk mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni slices. Total time from when I ordered to when I received my pizza was only about 5 minutes. Since I wanted to enjoy my pizza piping hot, I took advantage at one of their outdoor seating areas which has enough tables to seat a maximum of 12-15 guests. Since the weather was cooperative while not being too busy, I took full advantage of the opportunity. After receiving my slice of pizza and indulged into the first bite, I knew this was going to be delicious. The buttery crust was absolutely a winner as this has got to be the best tasting pizza I've had in Sacramento in a very long time. The cheese and pepperoni ratio also were spot on. I recently took a trip to New York/New Jersey (about 4 months prior to me writing this review) and will say that Marilyn's Pizza comes pretty darn close to the east coast flavor. Even the young man who helped me was very sincere and friendly during my visit. I will say that with the very generous hours, above average customer service, quaint location in the heart of Midtown, and very tasty pizza, I am giving "Marilyn's Pizza" a perfect five out of five stars.

Honestly, super good pizza. I always drive by and see a bunch of people here so I decided to try it out. They reheat your slice so it gets nice and crispy and delicious. We tried the combo, pesto, cheese, and meat pizza, all delicious!! Huge slices. The vibe is also pretty cool, feels very NY. You order at the counter and wait for them to call you once it's been heated.

Been here a few times and I can say they are really good. I like that you can buy pizza by the slice instead of a whole pizza. Prices are decent and won't break the bank. This is located on j street and open late (until 2-3 am usually). There's a few picnic tables up front, and inside has no room for seating at all. There's always customers here when I come here, which is a good sign. My last time here, I treated my cousin since we just came from a show at channel 24. He got 2 slices: cheese and pepperoni mushroom, and I got the special chicken pizza. Everything was really good. My pizza tasted "light", and not oily at all. We shared half the cheese since we were getting full for 2 slices. The cheese did taste good, but was definitely heavier. It's supposed to be New York style pizza, but I've never been to new York so can't compare. Still good to me. Costumer service was great. There are sometimes homeless who wander by and end up digging in the trash in the empty space next door, so be prepared for that.

Ms. Marilyn's was much needed in the midtown area! Open late night, pizza is fresh, and overall pretty tasty. The husband and I stopped by one evening for a quick slice to split (he was def more hungry than I was but the slice is huge! So it worked out). The spot is a cozy, stop in, pick up, and dip type of place. People were ordering slices, picking up whole pies, and even eating out front in the cold. We opted for a slice of the pesto (their cheese was being made but we were fine with pesto). Took about 5 minutes for them to heat it up, but it was cool to literally be feet from the pie makers creating the pizzas. The pesto was hot and fresh. A little salty for my tastes, but the husband loved it. One slice is perfect. Can't wait to come back and eve pick up a pizza for a party!

Great spot to fulfill late night pizza cravings!! My best friend came home for the holidays and had a late flight, so we all decided to bust a mission to Marilyn's since they're open so late. We've seen this spot posted all over social media, but never got the chance to go; it was all of our first times! The place is small, the inside convenient for waiting for your order. [This is not a dine-in restaurant!!] They have a full display of their pizza pies that you can see right as you walk in, and if you're doing slices, you choose from there. They do put it back in the oven, so it comes out hot! If you're ordering a lot or with a big group, you're welcome to wait outside until your order is ready, and they'll bring it out to you. It was 11pm when we got there, and all the employees were extremely friendly and lively. I always commend anyone working late hours while still having great customer service, because I'll be the first one to tell you that it's hard to keep it up once late hours hit. We all loved our pizzas, they were the perfect size. Besides all the add ons they offer in the menu, they also have crushed red peppers and Parmesan cheese to prep your pizza on the table inside. This place is located in midtown, and if you know Sac, you know that the homeless camp at night on the sidewalks. There were a few on this street the night my friends and I came, but they never bothered anyone. Also, it's worth noting that there's always so many people dining outside and people waiting in line in front of the store, that at no point did we feel "unsafe". Def recommend, we'll all be returning customers!

Walk up pizza by the slice, what could be better? The service and selection were great. Atmosphere is variable but good. The pizza? Could we spend less on the sauce? Probably not. The thing that pulls the toppings and crust together should be more than bland tomato sauce. That is where it fell apart for me. Not a bad option late when you are out on J. There are better options out there.

Best New York pizza I've had in Sacramento. Slices are huge and service was great. They have a few tables outside but I recommend take out

    Two Pesto Slices

This a very convenient pizza spot that stays up late, offers fair prices and has that late night energy people often look forward to during the weekend. The wife and I ordered two Pesto slices which we both found to have great potential but severely lacking that special ingredient to take it to the next level. The service was alright and the ambience was chill. The only issue is long wait times if you're going out late, you can easily be waiting there for half an hour or more. 3/5.

Cheese pie (those bubbles bring me home to NY ) fair price to feed atleast 4 or more.
    John R.

Been coming here now for almost a year (live an hour away) and each time like it more. One pie will feed a family of four and maybe even have last slice leftover. The lunch special is worth it and you gotta order on website only (took couple minutes but easy peasy) . The workers I've met so far have ll been polite and considerate. There are a couple tables outside on sidewalk (if for lunch ) but most pies and slices are to go.

Marilyn's is a cute hole in the wall. When I first heard about it, I thought it was a traditional pizza place who reminds me it was like a quick NY style pizza joint. Come and pick your pizza, yhey throw it in the oven for a couple minutes. Give it to you hot and ready and you put extra pepper or cheese on it if you want. They have seating outside, which is nice. You get to eat your pizza and see the cars drive by in a busy downtown. I wanna grab a quick bite or just meet up with a friend and eat something might definitely stop by here

The cheese pizza here is great; it's topped with dollops of ricotta and ribbons of fresh basil. They have a daily special: the Dino slice, which I'll often get as well. Sometimes the toppings are fun (e.g. pickles) and other times more run-of-the-mill (e.g. salami, bell peppers, etc) but I've never been disappointed even when I thought the flavors would be odd. They used to be pretty good about posting on Instagram what was on the Dino slice was, but I don't see it quite as often these days. If you're into saucing up your pizza, you can get ranch or hot honey or Dino sauce. It's been a while since I had the Dino sauce, but I recall it being tangy and cilantro-y with a bit of a spice kick. It sounds a bit different/odd, but I like getting it from time to time. The Dino eggs, from my recollection, are basically pizza dough balls. Mostly bread, which is fine since their bread/pizza crust is great, but I'd rather just stick to the pizza, so I only tried these once. The fries are good. Though, I probably wouldn't order them alongside the pizza unless you're looking for a carb bomb of a meal (which is what I had done the one time I ordered them). They're probably best if you're just looking for a snack to go with your beer & aren't planning on eating a whole bunch of pizza. They're quite good though. Nice and crispy. And it's a pretty big serving size. They have a dozen or so taps of various beers. Some local, some not. And they have a selection of cans and bottles as well. There isn't a ton of inside seating. A half dozen or so tables? And a few bar seats. There's probably more total seats in front and in the outside side patio. There's only street parking & there's lots of small shops nearby, so you might have to take a short walk from your car to get there.
