    Fried Raviolis

Would highly recommend this place! To start off, our server was very sweet and the service itself was pretty quick! We had to go to a concert in Golden One center so this was a great spot. Ambiance is alright, like any normal restaurant nothing fancy. Going into food: Fried Raviolis: 3/5 Was a solid choice! Spicy marinara sauce carried. Ravioli itself was good but was nothing special. Fettuccini Arrostiti: 4.5/5 This was noted as one of their bestsellers. Would definitely recommend this dish as it's a little more unique compared to traditional Italian pastas. Reminded me of Olive Garden's scampi dish. Rigatoni alla Vodka: 4/5 Personally have had better but this was up there! Loved the sauce itself, although I may have enjoyed it a little more if it was more creamy. Tiramisu: 4/5 Very solid. Nice and moist. Better than ones I have had a most restaurants recently.

Came to Paesanos on a Monday and was that right away we got the bocca balls as an appetizers. I think they would've been even better if they had cheese in the middle & if they were more soft because ours were a little hard. I got the tortellini. It was very good and the service was quick. This is a great restaurant to visit for date night.

Came here around 6:00 p.m. and were seated right away, which was a great start to the evening. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. It's a little bit of a tight squeeze inside, but it adds to the charm. We ordered the fried ravioli to start, along with the Lavender Lemon Drop, which was delicious. For dinner, I had the Tortellini Formaggio, and it was so good! The garlic bread that came with it was incredibly soft and the perfect complement to the meal. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, and we really enjoyed both the food and the drinks. This was my first time back in a long time, and I'm so glad we came. I'll definitely be back again soon!

Came here on a Wednesday afternoon and it had a lively vibe, but it wasn't very busy. My friend and I chose to sit outside where there were two tables available -- one smaller for two people and one slightly bigger. After being seated at the smaller table, I asked the host if we could sit at the larger one instead. The larger table only seated four, so it wasn't like we were asking for their biggest table. There were no other parties waiting and plenty of open seating inside, but the host still denied the request and said it was only for larger parties. That didn't sit right with me, especially since it wasn't busy, I'd definitely understand on the weekend but that wasn't the case. It felt unnecessary to prioritize a party that wasn't even there yet over guests who were already present. After that, we were seated and it did take a little while for someone to come over, but once our waiter arrived, they were very kind and service picked up quickly. Drinks and our appetizer came out fast. The appetizer was actually the highlight of the meal -- we enjoyed it more than our sandwiches. For our main meals, my friend and I both got sandwiches and they were just okay. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. My friend ordered the Philly cheesesteak and mentioned it was lacking in meat and felt like mostly bread in some bites. They did have a cool pizza special going on that sounded really good, and honestly we probably should've gone with that instead. Overall, the experience was just average. Not terrible, but not something I'd go out of my way for again. I would come back and try something else next time.

Located in midtown so find the nearest metered parking and walk. They were open on Easter Sunday and we were able to be seated right away for an early dinner (party of 5) Elevated pizza and pasta spot. I ordered the penne vodka pasta and at first the sauce was too acidic but as leftovers later that night it was perfect! If i had more of an appetite I would have added crispy chicken. The side garlic bread that comes with it is a big slice and perfectly buttered and seasoned. I would definitely come back to try the other options! However, the soda options are on the Pepsi/Starry variety which is not appealing to me.

I have been here numerous times with friends and family for dinner and I never get tired of their delicious food. My friend initially brought me here and introduced me to the amazing bocce balls. We get these every time we come here together, but the other appetizers are also worth trying! The fried ravioli was a hit with my family. Usually when I come I get the fettuccine arrostiti which is so delicious and filling, and recently I tried the rigatoni alla vodka which was amazing. They have staple items on their menu and specials too, the menu I believe may differ depending on the location you go to but won't only slightly. At this location I've never had to wait long to be seated and they have indoor and outdoor (covered) seating. The inside can get pretty busy and noisy, but the service is good.

We came here for lunch on Sunday. The waitress seated us quickly and offered us water while we looked over the menu. They have a kids' menu, which is a plus, and the price is affordable; it comes with an ice cream bar. We had kid pasta with meat sauce, polenta fries, spaghetti Parmesano and lemon pistachio linguine. We're having a good time, enjoying our food. The fries were really crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The linguine was quite delicious and unique taste. My husband enjoyed his spaghetti very much. The staff was friendly, and parking is on the street.

Overall a good value for money! We got polenta fries - which was huge and really good. It is on the heavier side so order rest of your meals accordingly. The kids got kids pizza and pasta and they were happy with their food. We also ordered Sicilian pizza and it was a tad bit too salty. Staff were really nice and the best part is that they give play doh for the kids, and there's ice cream bar and milk included as part of their $8 meal. Can't beat it!

Love Paesanos, great food, low key, good service, vibrant and noisy in a good way, they have always been accommodating, best of all, I've never had a mediocre meal here. When I crave comfort food, Paesanos is the first place that comes to mind. They also have a great bar, though, it's always crowded, I guess that speaks to the quality of service, customer experience is paramount, and Paesanos delivers!

I went here for lunch with my cousin on a Thursday afternoon. No wait and we were seated quickly inside. We ordered the sopressata hot honey pizza along with the daily special pasta (linguine with shrimp in a spicy sauce) and two side salads to share. Salad came out quickly but the food took a bit of a long time to come out - not sure if they were just waiting for us to finish our salad. I enjoyed the flavor of the hot honey pizza and the thinness and crispiness of the crust. The pasta was ok but I would probably not get it again as I think their pizza was better. Total for 2 dishes and 2 side salads was ~$60 pre-tip, so a bit on the pricier side. Street parking only, we found free parking around the corner. They have both indoor seating and a front covered patio.

Paseanos was a great experience. I went with a friend for dinner. We each got a delicious pasta dish. I got the campellini pomodoro and my friend got rigatoni allá vodka. I also got a nice Riesling to drink. We both enjoyed our meals and took some home for lunch the next day. We also shared the bocce balls, so delicious! Definitely recommend those. I would come back and dine again. The service was good. Our sever did seem a little overwhelmed but it was very busy. He forgot our drinks for a little while, but they eventually made it to our table.

Paesanos always has great quality pastas and pretty generous portions. I love getting their fried ravioli. It is so delicious, flavorful, and crispy. It was my first time trying their pizzas here, and it was pretty good! Thin crust pizza, and average size. The service was friendly. He got everything we needed and checked up on us a good amount of times. We sat in their extended room, which was cool, but there was no ambiance to it LOL it really is just an extra room for customers to eat in.

This place is in midtown and just has a chill vibe. Met my daughter for lunch, we love this place. Calamari Always good. Combo Pizza Pepperoni, Molinari Italian sausage and cremini mushrooms. Delicious, nice crust. Grilled Chicken Sandwich Provolone, toasted tomatoes, caramelized onions on artesian roll. Explosion of flavors, roll so fresh. It is a bit on the sweet side. Side Green Salad Fresh crisp produce very simple with heirloom tomatoes, I liked it alot. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Her name was 'D F' per the receipt.

With that context, we don't take Italian food lightly. That's exactly why Ippolito's Trattoria stands out. Nick, the owner, is there seven days a week. Whether he's running the kitchen like a true master or walking the dining room checking in with guests, his presence is constant. His wife is often by his side, and together they've built something that feels less like a restaurant and more like a family. The staff reflects that--welcoming, attentive, and genuinely warm. Now, the food. The chicken parmigiana is massive--easily two meals--and executed perfectly. The chicken is tender, well-seasoned, and balanced. We usually start with calamari or a shared salad, both consistently excellent. I'm especially particular about carbonara, and this is the only place in Sacramento that truly gets it right. No shortcuts. No cream. No smoked bacon. They respect the tradition--using proper ingredients like guanciale or pancetta and incorporating the egg the way it's meant to be. It's easily the best carbonara I've had in years. The arancini are another highlight. If you've ever made them at home, you know the effort involved--this is the real deal. Crispy outside, rich and flavorful inside, and absolutely authentic. The bread is baked fresh daily by Nick, and it shows. The pasta is artisan-quality, also made fresh, and sourced from a trusted local partner. Every detail reflects care and intention. Dessert is not an afterthought here. The tiramisu--made in-house--is flawless. And the cannoli? Outstanding. The shells have the perfect crunch, and the fillings are rich without being overpowering. Even the pizzelle cookies are done right. It's no surprise they've earned recognition, including: Best Italian Restaurant in Sacramento Best Restaurant Overall in Sacramento Beyond the food, Nick is active in the community and gives back, which only adds to the experience. We've enjoyed this place so much that we've chosen them to cater my 60th birthday for 20 very discerning Italian family members--many of whom we've already brought here, all with the same glowing reactions. If there's any criticism to address, it's usually from people saying the food isn't salty or herb-heavy enough. That misses the point. This is balanced, authentic cooking--where ingredients shine without being masked. I've been to Papa Gianni's in Cameron Park dozens of times over the years, and it's a great spot. But when it comes to the Sacramento region, Ippolito's Trattoria is my go-to, without question.

The Standouts: * Oh my goodness get that octopus dish back in my mouth. Wow, I can't describe adequately the unique texture they were able to get on it, with a crispy exterior and tender interior. There was a generous helping of garlic sauce which came with it and the potatoes that were on the side were also fantastic. Easily the best dish of the night. * The Ravioli was also delicious. It comes with a herby, earthy pesto on top and a delightful balance of cheese filling. * Lovely selection of Italian drinks including alcoholic and NA options * Interesting bruschetta flight - 4 pieces of toast each with a different type of topping. The onion Jam and pesto ones stood out to me. The Improvement Points: * The AC was not working very well when we were there. It got pretty toasty in the dining room given that it was a Sacramento summer day. I would love to see the AC back up and running next time. * The Carbonara, while nice, was not a standout in my opinion. They have a carbonara, they do it well enough, but nothing particularly special - light on the guanciale. * Location is certainly loud. Just the way the dining room is designed, no problem with the experience. Just be prepared to listen and speak up a little for dinner.

The inside was pillow-y soft, and when mixed with the salsa verde was full of flavor with a fabulous punch of garlic. The salsa verde could be put over a nice flank steak and it would absolutely kill. That said, the octopus was a bit *too* crispy. I felt I had to really chew to get it down, and I just wanted a nice snappy skin for some textural juxtaposition. For my entree, I got the Bolognese which was definitely full of salt. The pasta was wonderfully thin and bouncy, but I feel the chef may have had an off-day. My friend and I had to down like multiple cups of water with our meal which made it hard to enjoy. Plus, the garlic bread felt like biting into a brick. The inside was quite fluffy and soft, but the crust was simply too crispy. I almost felt like my teeth were going to give way. Honestly, I can't in good faith recommend this place to my friends, so neither would I recommend it to you. (aside from the pasta classes)

The food is well presented and and the quality is certainly there. It didn't disappoint, but I personally wasn't blown away by it either. It's just very solid you get what you pay for food. Usually that means you buy cheap food and you get cheap tasting stuff, but here you pay a good amount and you get pretty good food. We came on a pretty busy evening and service took a little longer than I expect that it typically would. But overall it wasn't bad... just very busy. I wasn't expecting good Italian food in Sacramento, so when a colleague suggested this place for…read moredinner, I agreed. Im also not much an Italian food fan really. Crazy I say this as I was in a serious relationship once with an Italian lol. I know I sound like a miserable wretched human being, but its quite ubiquitous and a lot of it is not too hard to make. But I do like a good pizza and there are Italian dishes I like (ones I cannot make like Sardinian wild boar or squid ink pasta). First, this dining room is gorgeous, the bar space is really nice. Saw a handsome gent in a nice suit sitting at the bar, which was a nice accessory to an already elegant and dare I say sexy bar? I had a drink here and then our party moved to a table when everyone arrived. My colleague did us the favor and ordered some antipasti dishes for us and made good choices. The carpaccio was great (and I loved the grana padano cheese - one that I can have) and also enjoyed the tartara di tonno - which is seared ahi tuna. Both with copious amounts of arugula (my favorite). Great choices as I love raw anything that's well made. Since it was Tuesday, one of my colleagues ordered the pasta trio which is a special for Tuesdays. No idea if it was any good, but colleague cleaned the plate. My other colleague ordered the risotto (which looked great and I love risotto and can make it myself), large portion size and she had a good portion leftover for another meal. I had the branzino in crosta. The portion size for my dish was ridiculous. Fish was decent, but I have had better (in Italy fresh caught). Rooted veggies were probably my favorite (I'm a rabbit and love veggies) and the grilled polenta was so-so. My colleagues ordered panna cotta al limone and it was excellent. I am used to a denser consistency panna cotta and this one was lighter one but well made. I love limoncello or anything with lemons, so this was just lovely. There is only one kind of tiramisu (more pudding style) I like which is made by North Italia and the one here likely was the traditional tiramisu so I declined to get dessert. Overall, a very good choice for a business dinner. Food was good. I deducted one star because I am not much into chain restaurants and prefer to support mom and pop type places. I deducted another star because the service was so SLOW and while we ordered some sparkling for the table, some of us did not get still water and I recall not having much water to drink and its summer. Also, I think the New Yorker in me just doesnt have much patience, but it does seem the cadence here was a different speed I am used to. I'd definitely return to have a few cocktails at the bar, and come back for their HH specials too. This location is in a beautiful setting and I'd come back just to sit at the bar and quietly ogle which cutie might show up...

I loved my Paloma. We had the four coarse tasting. For antipasti she had panzanella. I loved the smoked corn vellutata. This was a cool smokey corn soup. Very refreshing on a warm evening. For pasta she had bucatini ala Traponese. I really enjoyed agnolotti. It was wonderfully light but quite flavorful. For entrees she loved scallops. The pork loin was great for me. She loved her desert of ciambella while I savored bomboloni. The staff assisted us perfectly with helpful suggestions and prompt attention. The only minor concern was excess noise on the patio. We got the three course option: antipasti, an entree and dessert. I picked the porchetta tonnato ( pork belly salad) for the antipasti, scallop for entree and ciambella for dessert. They also brought out palate cleansers and complimentary prosecco for our anniversary which was so appreciated. The scallop was the most tender scallop I've ever tasted, it just melts in your mouth and perfectly seared. The ciambella has limocrllo macaropone, so soft and not overly sweet on a layer of olive oil cake. Reservations are a must. I booked a week before hand and there were limited availability. I would definitely come back for a special occasion! The parking lot is TINY but there are plenty of street parking.
