My wife and I were on our "New restaurant Saturday lunch" There are a ton of places to eat around this area, wontons, desserts, cheese and sandwich store. We entered La Bodega and unfortunately greeted by a big kiosk screen where you place your order. i would personally like to talk to the person taking my order. i ordered an al pastor torta, which was pretty expensive, $20 after tax and tip, which was weird to ask for a tip when no-one really took our order, just our food on a tray. Stopped by here the other day for lunch. It's a small place tucked away on the corner of Texas-Tonka in St. Louis Park. Very unassuming place. There is a few spots where you could sit but mainly a take out type of area. Friendly staff but you order at the kiosk and they make it for you. I ordered a Birria Ramen to go and they packed it well for me to transport home. I had heard a lot of good things about the birria ramen and it did not disappoint. The tender meat in the consommé with the ramen noodles was rich and complex. The flavors were great and worked so well together. It definitely filled me up and satisfied in a way that normally is reserved for comfort food. Definitely will be visiting this place again and maybe try the other things on the menu but this ramen will be hard to beat. read more

When we arrived, there was a short line, and we were prepared to get takeout but we got lucky and were able to snag one of the few outdoor tables. Loved the consome as well! So good! The burrito had more rice than meat and lacked a bit of flavor. Definitely get the birria anything on the menu - my fiancé ended up dipping his burrito into my consome for more flavor. Service was fast. La Bodega Taco Bar is on Minnetonka Blvd and Texas Ave. The restaurant only has a couple of available seats so it is the perfect pick up spot. The kiosks are easy to use and the food was prepared quickly. The chips were freshly made and the greasy bag proved it but they were tasty. The queso was a good consistency but could have had a little more flavor or spice! The Birria Ramen was a large bowl that would last me at least 2 servings. The meat was juicy and flavorful. It was perfectly cooked and tasted great with the onion, cilantro, and limes. The ramen noodles were not my favorite and I ended up eating the meat out if the bowl. The consume was on the thicker side and could definitely be thinned out to make this dish easier to eat and more similar to ramen or a soup. read more

The red salsa is also different from other red salsas in other restaurants. Which isn't bad but something to be aware of. This location is pretty small- you order at the kiosk or online and pick up at the counter for takeout. You can try and eat here but there's very little seating at the window bar. When you first drive up, the location is unassuming across the street from a strip mall in SLP. The location is mainly takeout with only a few bar stools inside. My fiancé and I ordered the birria tacos, birria ramen, and horchata and drove to the park 3 blocks away. Some taco bars you go to will have a tiny bit of meat, not La Bodega! Meat was good but not mind-blowing. BIRRIA TACOS: Definitely the star of the show! The tacos were more like dorados - dunked in consommé and pan-fried to be a bit crispy - yum! The birria meat was good, not as juicy as we've had elsewhere but packed in each taco. The consommé was good but we've had more flavorful. ESQUITE: First bites were super sour/salty before I stirred it up from the toppings! A bit on the saucy side for me - I could have used more corn, but really creamy and good. I really wanted to try this place. Their posts on social media are so enticing! And Birria Ramen? I HAD to try it! The St. Louis Park location is a tiny thing. There are some window seats, or you can grab a seat at one of the tables on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. I think my mistake was eating there, rather than taking my order to go. They did not have a restroom either, which made dining in difficult. The Food: Birria Ramen: There was very little flavor in this. The only thing I could taste was the onion and cilantro. The meat was also lacking flavor. The dish was so oily. I would not order this again. Birria Tacos: Very similar to the ramen. Lacking flavor and oily. I ordered the birria tacos with cheese.
