My wife and I were on our "New restaurant Saturday lunch" There are a ton of places to eat around this area, wontons, desserts, cheese and sandwich store. We entered La Bodega and unfortunately greeted by a big kiosk screen where you place your order. i would personally like to talk to the person taking my order. i ordered an al pastor torta, which was pretty expensive, $20 after tax and tip, which was weird to ask for a tip when no-one really took our order, just our food on a tray. I love tacos and I wanted to love this place but sadly the selection and flavor just isn't there. My favorite thing was the crazy fries, which we got with steak. The tacos were not good though. The chicken has an odd taste, I think maybe it is drenched or marinated in the birria, which I don't enjoy. We ordered the 3-taco quesabirria and got one with chicken, one with asada and one with birria. All were great. The melted cheese and crispy tortilla shells dipped in birria added great texture and flavor. The staff was very friendly, accommodating our special requests, including a mangonada slushie without Tajin and an extra tortilla since there was so much meat in the tacos we had enough to make another one! Stopped by here the other day for lunch. It's a small place tucked away on the corner of Texas-Tonka in St. Louis Park. Very unassuming place. There is a few spots where you could sit but mainly a take out type of area. Friendly staff but you order at the kiosk and they make it for you. I ordered a Birria Ramen to go and they packed it well for me to transport home. I had heard a lot of good things about the birria ramen and it did not disappoint. The tender meat in the consommé with the ramen noodles was rich and complex. The flavors were great and worked so well together. It definitely filled me up and satisfied in a way that normally is reserved for comfort food. Definitely will be visiting this place again and maybe try the other things on the menu but this ramen will be hard to beat. read more

When we arrived, there was a short line, and we were prepared to get takeout but we got lucky and were able to snag one of the few outdoor tables. We ordered queso + chips, Quesabirria tacos with medium salsa, and churros. The star of the show was by far the tacos. They did not have a restroom either, which made dining in difficult. The Food: Birria Ramen: There was very little flavor in this. The only thing I could taste was the onion and cilantro. La Bodega Taco Bar is on Minnetonka Blvd and Texas Ave. The restaurant only has a couple of available seats so it is the perfect pick up spot. When you first drive up, the location is unassuming across the street from a strip mall in SLP. The location is mainly takeout with only a few bar stools inside. Meat was good but not mind-blowing. BIRRIA TACOS: Definitely the star of the show! The tacos were more like dorados - dunked in consommé and pan-fried to be a bit crispy - yum! The birria meat was good, not as juicy as we've had elsewhere but packed in each taco. The consommé was good but we've had more flavorful. ESQUITE: First bites were super sour/salty before I stirred it up from the toppings! A bit on the saucy side for me - I could have used more corn, but really creamy and good. Inconspicuously located in a small strip mall in St. Louis Park, you'll find the postage stamp size La Bodega (they've opened a larger location Uptown.) There are a few dedicated parking spots directly in front of the restaurant. You place your order at a kiosk and when the food is ready they bring your food out to you. The food is consistently tasty and fresh and the service is always approachable. There are a few outdoor tables and about 5 bar seats inside. Just FYI, there is no public restroom at this location.
