The food and margarita were excellent. Very flavorful and large portions. Enough for two meals.

El Loro is our go to spot for good Mexican food at a great price! The staff is always extremely kind and attentive and the interior is festive and lively! This is the perfect casual date night spot or fun dinner with friends. They give out some free chips with salsa and a cheese sauce. I'm not exactly sure what the cheese sauce is but it is absolutely delicious! The salsa also tastes very fresh and I could easily fill up on just the chips and dip alone. They have a wide variety of items on their menu and can make most options gluten free by substituting for a corn tortilla which is nice. The mushroom quesadilla and the chipotle burrito were both great. The portions are also extremely large so you definitely are getting your moneys worth! The highlight of the night for us was the margarita! We split the monster sized raspberry margarita and it was amazing! It is around 2.5 large sized margaritas in one glass. I waited 20 minutes for a to go order that I was texted was ready for pickup. The order was missing an item. The taco was cold and limp. The meat filling in the taco enchiladas too salty to eat. I threw the meal into the trash. Will Never go there again. read more

I have invited my entire family and several friends to join me & they ALL thought the experience was incredible! The atmosphere is simply awesome! Beautiful bright colors are part of the unique appeal. The decor that is designed to make guests feel like they are vacationing in Mexico. The service is unmatched in regard to the how the staff engage with customers to make each one feel special. I have dined at this WONDERFUL restaurant many times and continue to return because I love how I feel when I am there. We kept seeing this restaurant next to Cub Foods and decided to give it a try. The food was very good! Great size portions, flavorful and delicious! They also give you ranch and salsa with your tortilla chips...which I have never seen before but wow does that combo taste good together! We will definitely be back! read more

I miss Rey Azteca... when it was good. Stopped going there because the restaurant got to be really dirty and was concerned about the cleanliness. The service continued to decline as well. I don't know that the new location is much cleaner. We had gone and the young woman servicing us must have been practicing because she wasn't good and multiple tables commented on it. Very slow. Missing items that were requested. Food was bland. Over priced. And they still haven't fixed the entry way so everyone congregates near the door (as you'd expect when waiting for a table) but anyone who sits in those tables or booths will get a big face of butt from people waiting to be seated. It's very slow to be seated as well. Save your money. Avoid. read more

It was just OK... the food overall was not impressive. Got some chicken quesadillas that had very little cheese. The tacos weren't great. The quacamole tastes like it comes from a package. The water tastes funny. The music is too loud. The chips & salsa are good. They also need to work on timing meals for each table. Our food for 5 people all came out at different times. One meal came at least 10 minutes before everyone else's. We saw that it was the same for everyone not just our table. Overall wouldn't recommend or go back sadly. read more

My husband and I visited El Loro in Chanhassen last night, it was such a great experience. The food was so tasty and our waitress was outstanding. Her name was Zaira, she was so kind and attentive. She brought refills without even having to ask. She was so knowledgeable about the food and the way it is made. All I can say is, it was just a perfectly wonderful experience. They have recently remodeled and it is so open and bright now. Just great!!! read more
