Recently had Soke via Grubhub, we had never had it before but where I usually get Pho does not use delivery services. We got the vegetarian Pho, Duck Congee, Soke Wings, Pad Thai, and Egg Rolls. It was a flavor explosion. The Pho was deep, savory, perfect blend of herbs and umami rich broth. It had different types of mushrooms, baby bok choy, slices of zucchini, fried tofu, and a thick noodle. Amazing! I cannot rave enough about this dish. The wings had amazing coating and sweet and tangy sauce on them. So good! Pad Thai was a perfect noodle sauce balance. Duck Congee was not what I expected but the rice was tender, and a bit sweet and the duck paired nicely. I would order all of it again. We will be visiting again soon to try it all there. The staff were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Hot Pot: We were told that we could have 4 both options. We only did 2 and I thought it was pretty good. It took a while for the broth to boil. They have lots of options for proteins, soybean, vegetables, and noodles/rice. They also offer lobster tail! They did give us two sets of ladles. One had a strainer on the bottom, while the other is a regular ladle. BBQ: I like their protein options, which includes short ribs and an 8-oz ribeye. The food came with 3-4 side dishes, but we didn't eat those. I forgot what they were. Pricing: It is competitive with other local hot pot and BBQ. They do have a $15/lbs fee for wasting food. Drinks were also very fairly priced. Parking was a little limited, since it shared with other stores in the strip mall. The idea of pairing Mochi Donuts, Korean BBQ and Hotpot is brilliant. However, the experience fell short. The restaurant is relatively small, but seats 20-24 tables (4-6 people/per), with one, very overwhelmed waiter. [We visited on a Friday evening over dinner.] Our order was taken fairly quickly, but took a very long time to fill. This was the case for every table. For an AYCE, with a high price point, I would expect faster and more consistent service. The busier it got inside the restaurant, the warmer it was, we became less hungry and the service slowed down. Quality of the food was good otherwise, very typical for Korean BBQ and Hotpot. The sauce bar had many varieties and even offered suggestions, which I loved! To end the night, we were hoping to taste a Mochi Donut, but they were already cleared from the bakery case. The hours on the door said 10pm, and we left shortly after 7pm....that didn't add up! I really should have listen to the reviews but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. There was no wow factor & it felt like they were doing to much where they should focus on one thing and specialize in it. They had mochinut, kbbq + hotpot, & like claw machines. Too much going on. The front entrance was hella cluttered. We were in town for a wedding and it was also my mom's birthday weekend so we wanted to treat her to her fav hotpot and kbbq was going to be the plus but everything was just average. The only unique thing were crabs but even so those were so much work to pry out to enjoy and that's especially hard with a toddler who doesn't sit still. Finally made it to this hotpot restaurant, they now offer all you can eat. One option is $34.99 or you can have both for $39.99. Why not both?? We chose tom yum broth and pho, you can have up to 4 different broths. The sauce station is on the otherside of the restaurant next to the mini crane games. Restaurant is a good size, 1 table with the grill is to accommodate groups up to 4. The meats can be ordered with the servers that comes around. I usually only get the combination platter because it is a good deal for the amount they give. The plus side is the unlimited sides!! They go through cycles every week of different sides but that's what makes everything so good. There is a sauce bar too for you to make your own type of sauce. I always get the fried rice with the protein platter. I'm not a big fan on hotpot so I don't ever get that. Overall, I would try this place out. The food is good, marinated raw meat seems fresh and they are great. Food selection can be widened for the kbbq. Also should be more clear on what we are ordering. Salad = lettuce leaves. Not salad. Service seems a little disorganized. Ordered some additional dishes and was asked by different employees and reconfirmed few times. After long wait, we were notified certain dishes was sold out. I'm not able to recommend Soke enthusiastically. The first significant problem that Soke needs to address is their reservation system, or lack thereof. It is walk-in only - if you're going during normal dinner hours, you could wait over 1.5 hours to get a table. That was our experience for a table of four Saturday night. We weren't given a timeframe; we had to ask for updates 3 separate times. Not a great way to start a dining experience. By the time we were seated, some of us were hangry (to be expected). I noticed that some tables desperately needed to be bussed, with numerous plates piled high. Service is on the slow side. Banchans arrive in super small square plates. We were given 5 sides and it was like 1 micro bite for each of us. While refills are complimentary, it just doesn't seem efficient to have staff filling these small plates when you could give larger portions. That would satisfy both diners and minimize back and forth for staff. The sauce bar contains a good variety of condiments and make your own sauces but it was unkept. You could tell sauces had not been refilled and the counter was messy. Hot pot and bbq portions lean towards the small side and because if that, I would call Soke a moderately expensive meal. There's a good variety of vegetables and meat cuts but given the smaller portions, I felt prices were inflated and not worth the value. Along with the upfront wait, food also takes awhile to arrive. Surprisingly, the burners took much longer to heat up so it's all just one big waiting game. Lastly, because it's Korean bbq, just know your clothes are going to reek of meat and oil fumes afterwards. I love this spot for being the first to bring KBBQ AND hot pot in one spot. Before this spot, most offer kbbq or hot pot but not both at the same table and since opening a few others have opened up, but I think this is still the best combo spot. Everything is served a la cart so you order each plate separately. Kbbq- lots of meat and veggie options. You can get seafood too. Combos are available but I don't do them Hot pot- you can choose up to four broths for your communal pot with lots of proteins and veggie options There's also sides you can order, drinks (including soju) and a sauce bar available with pineapple and watermelon at the end. Pros: Lots of meat and veggie options. If you love mushrooms, there's a good variety. Love that you can pick up to 4 broths for the hot pot and love that hot pot and kbbq are side by side. The sauce bar is a nice touch. It's also nice and bright inside with fans to catch the smoke. Cons: Servers can be nice but sometimes it can be hit or miss with differentiating which meats are for hot pot and which are for kbbq when they come to the table. If you have a big order, keep track of what items are still missing. It also can get busy and it looks like you can now make resys for larger groups but if you are a group of two we couldn't. read more

Extremely disappointed with the service I received. Not sure if it's because they just recently opened but I just expect better. They offer an à la carte menu so each side is individually price which does add up quickly. They do offer combos which is nice so you can try different options. You can also do hot pot + bbq! That's pretty cool. The broth was pretty yummy. They have a variety of options. Now the food was fine but it all went wrong when the server sat us at a station that wasn't fully working. The heat kept going out every time we just slightly moved the table. We called the server to help us and they fixed it but once again it went out and the server didn't come back until like an hour later. So our 'hot' pot was literally lukewarm for a good hour. Server comes back finally, messes with the table and it works for a bit but eventually turns off again. They also kept run away before we can even say anything. You think after the third time they would offer to move us to another table... but no. Our hot pot only got hot for a bit and then kept cooling down. They didn't even offer to comp a part of our bill after their mistake so we paid 200 dollars for cold pot? lol. It's really a bummer that we couldn't enjoy our hot pot. FOOD: I thought the ingredients were really fresh and the portion sizes were good! The broth is also so flavorful and I honestly think my top in the cities! We came all the way from lowa to visit family and thought we'd check this place out for a late lunch (1pm) on a Sunday. We were charged for dinner menu which should have included a lobster tail and 8 oz ribeye. However, the ribeye was low quality and then we were told there's no lobster tail yet here we were paying premium price, nearly $40. And the more we ordered the less food we got. For example, we ordered shrimp and originally we got 6 shrimps then there after we got 4. We also ordered blue crab, the first order we ordered one order and got 2 crabs. Second order we ordered 2 orders again but only got 2 and was told one order is one crab. The service go poorer and sparse even though the restaurant was nearly empty. Then we had minors who didn't want the AYCE instead they wanted to order appetizers. Well they had to move the kids across the restaurant. Needless to say it was not a good experience. read more

First off, the venue is very nice and the concept is refreshing and convenient for groups. We got the Spicy pork bone and the tomato broth. We also got the protein combo (beef, pork belly, chicken, and honey comb), the veggie combo (corn, taro slices, Napa cabbage, etc), tofu combo, and mushrooms. Unfortunately, the heat didn't work for a while but the servers helped us out. The sauce bar had a solid variety and an assortment of fruits was definitely worth it to snack while waiting for the main dishes. Overall, the food was not bad. I wish there was more meat and that the chicken was cut thinner but the vegetables and the tofu was solid. Definitely gotta try the kbbq next. And don't forget the mochi donuts and boba! read more

It was disappointing. We were looking forward to try this restaurant. Our server was very nice but absent most of the time. We did BBQ only( there is option to do hot pot too) . Beef was very low quality, chewy , chicken was cut in chunks that took too long to cook. Korean pancake was falling apparat but it was pretty good minimal dipping sauce for it. Chicken wings were the best part of the meal. Cheese wontons were standard. They are really stingy with Korean sides . Rice does not come with meal but cheap 2 dollars for a little bowl. Korean appetizer / sides are in tiny little square they gave tiniest amount for 5 ppl ( server did give us more kimchi when we asked ). The grill was burned but they never switched it out cleaned it as they do in other Korean BBQ places, heat was very low it took forever to cook. Prices are not bad but we probably won't be back It did have nice decor and atmosphere and was clean, modern looking. read more

My husband and I went on a Friday afternoon at an off lunch time around 2pm and the restaurant was quite empty, maybe one or two other tables apart from us. When you walk in, you'll notice on one side it's the mochi donut restaurant and the other side is the hot pot /kbbq side. I absolutely love the concept of hot pot and kbbq, I liked how flexible the restaurant was as well, you're not forced to do both but you can if you'd like! This isn't an AYCE restaurant so do expect to pay a premium price if you're with a larger group that has a big appetite. I like how it's not AYCE personally because I don't feel like I have to stuff myself to make it worth it. We ended up ordering the meat package that comes with 4 types of meat, mostly bulgogi and 1 raw sliced beef. I don't think the chicken was anything special so I wouldn't want to get that again but the pork and beef was good! We also ordered takoyaki and thought that it had a decent amount of octopus, which was pleasantly surprising. With the 4 cuts of meat, 2 veggies and 1 app on the kbbq side, that came to about $50 without tip and we were very full! The ambiance feels modern and I love how they play kpop music and the cherry on top is the have cute little claw machines you can play with. Our server was sooo nice and quick too! The food quality here is terrible. The quality of the beef is low grade, tough, and not edible. The soup base was salty. Service was terrible as we had to ask for refills of water. The food was good. I have no complaints. But the service? Terrible. Which is why I'm giving it 2 stars. Went with a group of 8 other people so we split up by gender. Immediately our server, who was a male, took care of the men first, and then came to us women. He took our order then came back and had everything ready for the men but when he came back to us women he had forgotten a part of our order. Maybe it was a simple mistake since our group was so large, so we let it slide. We just reordered them when he came back again. But then the second round we asked for more bowls of rice. They never came. And after that, the server never came back and asked us if we'd like to order more either. Meanwhile the men we were with were getting their orders and being tended to quickly by our server. To add- The restaurant was pretty busy but despite all that, he had no problem taking orders and bringing them out quickly to the men in our group. Bottom line: It's 2025. There should be no more sexism. We paid the same amount as the men. Found this excellent clean great place to eat, Korean BBQ was fantastic, it was great to be able to cook your food yourself, I know that sounds strange at a restaurant, but it works well. The protein is sliced thin and cooks within 15 minutes. As it cooks, there is good conversation and drinks with your guest, and the donuts at that location are a must try. read more

The experience was unique and fun. The meat and vegetable options were fantastic for both the bbq & hotpot. The vegetables were fresh and plentiful. The meat/seafood choices and cuts were great. We had a wonderful server who was very helpful and friendly which made for an amazing experience. The environment was clean and quaint. Husband and I drove over a hour and a half to give this place a try-and it was worth the drive! This is the first place in MN to have Korean BBQ and Hot Pot in the same place. We both enjoyed our time making lunch together with the built in and smoke free grill and soup space. We ordered a meat combo and veggie combo for both the BBQ and Hotpot. Our favorite part was the Tom Yom hotpot! The only downside was that the BBQ side of marinated meats was a touch on the salty side. My boyfriend and I went here a few weeks ago. It was a terrible experience but I am giving this review 2 stars for its possible potential. This is going to be a long review. We were so excitee to go as this sounded like th3 best of both worlds. And to also have boba and mochi donuts?! Yes, please! When we arrived we were told the wait time was up to 40 min to an hour as they don't take reservations. We were fine with it as we were excited. It actually only took us about 20 min before we got a table. The prices weren't terrible either. We ordered the meat set for both hot pot and KBBQ. We also ordered a bottle of soju that we never got. It cost us around $75. What made this experience horrible were the servers. Our main server made a mistake with our order and brought out two portions of the hot pot meat. When we called him over, he tried to explain to us that they are not the same. We pointed out that the KBBQ ones should be marinated and he was telling us that the marinade is on the meat and they don't serve it... which we already know that. We just left it and took a few pieces from each plate to grill to see if the marinade was just extremely light. Nope. No marinade on any of the meats. We notice that another table had the same issue when they waved down a different server. We did the same and called over that same server (Server 2). We explained the situation to her. She told us she would go tell him about it. We watched and she walked away, making no conversation with our main server. She never made her back to us either. Once again, the same table that also had issues waved down a third server. We also waved down this server (Server 3) after them and explained the situation again. This third one said it seems like he made a mistake and accidentally input 2 hot pot portions instead of one of each when he took our orders. We told her about how we specifically pointed to each menu item when placing our order, so we weren't sure how he got it wrong. She told us she would go check and that it was only his first week. She walked away to the back for 1 minute or so, came back out and never came back to our table. No one returned to help us. We eventually got his attention again and told him once more that we did not get the right order. He finally admitted he made a mistake but didn't know which ones to take away...? We had to be the ones to tell him, which were the ones that we got double of. After he took it away, we still waited close to 40 minutes for our new meat to come out. We should've just gotten up and left but were afraid as we have never had such terrible experience to want to do that before. We almost did but anxiety stopped us. Our server then proceeded to avoid us the rest of the night after the food came out. He never once stopped to ask how we were doing, nor did he ask how the other table he messed up on was doing. He DID check on a third table consistently that he did not mess up on. We tried to enjoy it as much as we could. The hot pot soup was extremely bland. The soup amount was also small but I'm assuming it's because doing both hot pot and KBBQ can be a lot of food. The soup didn't even cover our corn pieces. The table next to us (that he didn't mess up on) had a full pot of soup. The marinated meat was pretty good when we finally got it. Overall we think there was a big language barrier between us and our main server. He mumbled a lot and spoke very low so it was difficult to understand him. We were able to look past this and that it was his first week. However, we were unable to look past how we did not apologize to us until the last minute and avoided us. We were also unable to look past that we informed two other different servers who spoke English fluently but did nothing about it. Oh and the cleanliness was also questionable. We don't think we would return here again on my own will, unless we see more positive reviews. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I only tried the hot pot, and I was not impressed with the whole experience. We ordered the spicy beef broth, it was a tasty broth but it was such a small amount of broth they gave us. The pork belly had too much of a pork smell even after cooking it. The sauce station was cool, but the popular sauce was out, and the lady who was responsible for filling it up took a long time to do it. I did enjoy the chicken wings appetizer. Lastly, the staff was not very timid, quiet, and not friendly. There was a bunch of kids waitessing, and none of them wanted to give eye contact to any customer or was neither helpful. Took my mom and sisters there 2 weeks ago. Had a very bad experience, will never return. The service was horrible. The waiters (two young men), didn't come back and check what we need. (They were not even busy, half of the tables were empty). We had to wait and wait and raise our hands to ask for water. The refill food portions are small. There were 6 of us, the younger waiter made a very loud comment that "those are a lot" which is very rude. Considering 6 of us and we only order 4 of each of the portions. The worst part is the broth. There were 6 of us. We only got 4 small square broth pots, not even half filled. We only get one refill of the broth, but it's just water. Diluted everything. Wow. So stingy. Worst experience ever. We thought we give this new restaurant a try since it's closer. Will never return, especially when you have a party of more than 4 people. We didn't have to wait long but it was a little off putting because he didn't even look up to say anything to us, walked into the back, and our server came to seat us. If anything, we only waited 3 minutes but were super confused. The server was super nice though and our food didn't take long to come out. The meats were super flavorful and seasoned to perfection. We got the protein combo & pork belly. The broth (Thai Tom Yum) for the hotpot though was not to our liking. It was a combination of sour and sweet. Normally I'm able to eat anything but I couldn't eat this. It was definitely my fault for choosing it though and will choose something else the next time we go!
