My husband and I recently visited Frida's Place in Lake Elsinore and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I ordered the quesabirria tacos with an agua fresca de pepino limón, while my husband ordered the birria bowl and a Coke. We were disappointed to learn that there were very few pork options available, with chicharrones being the only pork dish offered. The service was poor from the start. When our food arrived, the server brought us a café de olla that we never ordered. She then double-checked our order because she seemed to doubt what I had originally requested. My husband's Coke never arrived until I had to ask for it a second time. The food itself was underwhelming. The quesabirria tacos lacked flavor, and the birria bowl contained a lot of fat. The cucumber-lime agua fresca was also very bland and tasted watered down with little flavor. To top it off, after finishing our meal, no one came back to check on us or bring our bill. We eventually walked up to the register to pay, where we stood waiting for quite a while before the employee acknowledged us. She was busy making coffee in a regular coffee pot and seemed completely unaware that customers were waiting to check out. A hot spot right now be prepared for a crazy busy weekend! It's outdoors and set up as a Mexico style restaurant. The restaurants is in the front of the ranch. Food: large portions so many options from cafe de Hoya to fresh waters. My top pick fresa crema made fresh. I got a guarache de carne asada it was fire! Also a sope just to taste both. Micheladas perfect for a hang over on a weekend. The have menudo too. My hubby got chilaquiles and again huge portion. Some of my fam did mention food was a bit cold and hard since it's outdoors and they try to get all orders out asap. Parking and sitting: it gets super packed so be ready to park far and walk up to the ranch bring comfy shoes it's all dirt and rocks. Sitting gets full be ready to look out for a table as people are leaving. LAKE ELSINORE LOCATION: We tried this place for the first time on a Sunday about 2 PM. The wait in line was approximately 20 minutes and we waited approximately an hour for two bowls of Menudo and three canned cokes. Was it worth it? Absolutely 100% would go back. The Menudo was the good kind of homemade... Full of flavor not greasy hot and just delicious. The Menudo came with a basket up for homemade tortillas that were so flavorful. Went last week and truly enjoyed it. It was full, but it's surprising how fast they work there and I didn't wait long at all. Horrible food. I truly believe they premade eggs & chiliquilles eggs were hard , all our food was super cold.

We went there last Sunday, 45 minute wait to order food. Over 1 hour wait for the food. We were told it was worth the wait... We finally got our order which only 1 out of our 3 orders came to the table. I ordered the same as my friend, Enchiladas Michucanos which were supposed to be in Mole Sauce (not even close) they were dry enchiladas made with hand made corn tortillas, inside was just chopped onions with about a teaspoon on queso fresco. Came with a dry tasteless piece of chicken and cut carrots in a tasteless something powder. Ordered Beans on the side (they were cold)... my husband ordered Chili Quilles which never arrived. He got his money back. I didn't eat my $20 plate of Enchiladas... Lesson Learned read more

To start the menudo is super greasy with no flavor . The salsa bar is no good but the micheladas are good. The thing that I did like about this place this that it's out doors and reminds me of Mexico but I will not be coming here anytime soon. After being in Lake Elsinore for a little over a year it was a bit hard finding a restaurant that had the same "sazón" as my mom/grandma or Mexico. Today my wife and I decided to try Frida's place and maaaaaaaaaan were we amazed by the food. The lady at the counter greeted us, offered us menus and sat us down while allowing us enough time before we had to order. While we were seated we saw a few plates go out for the party seating behind us and everything smelled soooo goood! Well, we were not disappointed at all the foood was SOOOOO DELICIOUS. I tried the chicharrón en salsa roja plate. I also ordered a plain cheese quesadilla with handmade corn tortilla. The salsa roja in the chicharrón was perfect, not too spicy and not too mild, just perfect. The refried beans were delicious just like back home, and overall both of our plates had very good portions. My wife had a cóctel de camarón and she loved the seasoning in it, not too spicy not too mild again, just perfect I paired my plate with a cold Sangria (refrescó) while my wife had hers with a coke. They had Jarritos and bunch of other flavors to choose from. Who would've thought a little hole in the wall would've brought so many good memories while eating delicious food. The steak was good but one of the pieces was pretty much just to give to the dog. Rice and beans were normal nothing really great. People were nice. My biggest reason for giving such a low score is because I asked for a taco. The guy said oh I can get you a taco plate OK cool. That taco plate turned into the Kearny Asada steak and went from me thinking I was going to spend a couple of bucks to 20 bucks. We happened to be running an errand & came across this small gem nestled in Lake Elsinore. A small taco shop/restaurant with delicious food. We ordered street tacos with handmade tortillas, quesabirria with a side of rice. They provided us with chips and salsa which was spicy but flavorful. I ordered the carne de puerco en salsa verde with nopales instead they brought our carne de puerco en salsa roja with no nopales. When I asked about it they told me they ran out of salsa verde. At a glance from outside I thought the food was prepared outside but they have a kitchen inside. We ordered tacos of different meats to try and could not tell what was what except the birria which was obvious and even though they said it was fresh it was alright. Their customer service was excellent and somehow we had two extra tacos with our order. The red salsa was good. The quesadilla de flor de calabaza was exquisite! I went into Frida's not really knowing what to expect. All I knew is I was hungry and craving some birria which is a mexican traditional barbeque dish in homemade salsa. I ordered the Birria plate and it was delicious. They serve all of their plates with homemade corn tortillas and all of the trimmings. They also have agua frescas.
