Everyone in Riverdale has been going crazy over this new place & I've been wanting to try their food for a while but I have major dietary restrictions (health related) that make eating out so difficult: no grains (wheat, rice, corn), no mayo, etc. Well I finally went in and talked to them and the chef made the shrimp "tacos" special for me!! Lettuce cups instead of tacos, grilled shrimp instead of coated in flour and fried... Beautiful and delicious! I am so excited to I have found a local place that serves AMAZING food and is so willing to accommodate their customers- thank you Frida Tacos- my new favorite restaurant!! My first time trying food from Frida's Tacos and I gotta say, I'm really impressed. I'm very picky about the Mexican food I tried but I figured I'd give this a shot. I ordered a steak quesadilla to go and man when I got home, I DEVOURED my food lol. I asked them for a side of salsa verde and salsa roja and I must warn you guys, they're both very, very spicy. But so tasty! I love spice, so they definitely both hit the spot. As for the service, since I only ordered out, the lady who took my order in the front was friendly and informative. Was visiting river dale all the way from Brooklyn with my girlfriend to explore some of the parks and was very happy to stumble across this place by chance. We were very pleasantly surprised. The absolute best Mexican food I've had in the USA. The family that runs this is so kind and the chef is incredibly innovative. Constant specials keep me drooling. I would eat here every day if I could afford it. I've brought many friends, family, and colleagues to try it and do a bunch of take-out/catering for my work as every item has been outstanding. Y'all! We ordered delivery for dinner this evening and this food was so good I had to call the restaurant and tell them just how good it was. In 17 years of living in NYC I don't think I have never had delivery this good. I was told the owner was the chef this evening. Well, the owner put their entire foot in that food. Was in the area visiting a 95-year old female friend and was looking for a quick, easy meal. Needless to say, my companion isn't exactly in the demographic known for wanting to experiment with unfamiliar menus or spending lots of time lingering over a leisurely meal. So we kept it simple. She ordered the shrimp tacos and I went with fish tacos and chicken quesadillas, and we shared. She said she had heard good things in her nearby apartment building about this "new" place and was now a believer and would also be spreading the word. For me, the tacos were excellent but the stunner was the quesadillas. A pretty straightforward dish found on menus everywhere (and usually prepared, presented and tasting the same general bland way), these were the best I've ever had, anywhere. Two of the five dessert choices listed on the menu weren't available, but I'll chalk that up to late/post-Covid fine tuning that still needs to be worked out. Overall, Frida's is a simple (don't expect anything fancy) but pleasant surprise in an area of North Riverdale with almost no other satisfying dining options. The food was the big winner at this place. Definitely will return, although I live 100 miles away. read more

Went to the new location in North Riverdale on Mosholu. Great addition to the neighborhood. Ceviche.. empanadas.. guac.. enchiladas, fajitas and kids chicken tacos were on point. The mole on the enchiladas was a tad spicy and they were really concerned my son would be ok with it.. which was amazingly thoughtful on their part.. but he was and they were impressed. ;) Also loved the hibiscus tea. The most amazing food. I have ordered from them 2x now and loved the food. I ordered the fish tacos and my daughter had the chicken tacos. My fish tacos were delicious..grilled pieces of cod with cabbage and jicma and this spicy sauce. My daughters chicken tacos delicious they used chicken thighs which are tastier. Popped in for a quick lunch and left feeling satisfied. We started off with the tostaditas which were packed with flavor and delicious. The al pastor tacos were also really good. I went here yesterday (8.24.21) in the Bronx to pick up an order for fish tacos and a Mexican Cobb salad. I've been a loyal customer since Frida's opened and went with my baby and my dog to pick up the order. We'd been at the nearby park. It was a scorcher of a day, brutally hot, so when I walked in, I asked for a glass of water (it was for my dog). The person working behind the counter, a male, asked me to leave the dog outside. I understood, since it's a health code thing, but I had a overheated baby in a stroller with me, and so being inside in the AC with the baby was important. So, I had my dog wait outside holding her leash and stayed inside with my baby and gave him my credit card so I could get out of there. He gave me my order, didn't give me any water and so I asked him for a glass of water again. He went to get it for me and told me to close the door because of the AC. My dog was outside and I was holding her leash. I was pretty irritated by his downright surly attitude toward a mom with her baby and a panting dog giving them business on a very hot day. So I told him I wasn't feeling his generosity and withdrew the courtesy tip I'd written on the receipt -- which I leave for small businesses that I care about -- and today I look at my credit card online and find out that they charged me the tip I'd removed on the receipt! Tips are for service. Graciousness. And not for the one servicing to decide to charge on my credit card. Especially when I explicitly told him that I wasn't leaving one and changed it on the receipt. I want the owners to know this about their employee. And I really hope that I wasn't dealing with one of the owners yesterday. read more

This place is so great! The food is delicious and flavorful, and the ingredients are high quality. The tortillas they use for tacos alone make their tacos better than any other tacos in the neighborhood, but the filling puts it over the top. The staff is super nice and fast, too. read more

The place is a cute little spot with a lot of options in their menu, with some Mexican fusion dishes. We had tacos, burritos and the fajitas plus the nachos as an appetizer and the churros for dessert. Everything was delicious though I would be more adventurous than my son and order something beyond the chicken tacos because they didn't look/taste so impressive. My wife had a variety of tacos and the next one tasted better than the first. The steak burrito and fajitas were definitely the hits of the table. The nachos were good but I will try another app the next time. The churros were warm and homemade. I knock down a star because the tacos are really tiny and the order of 3 should be 4 or the tacos should be bigger. I would have been disappointed to have that in front of me so I understand what others are saying about the sizes of the orders. read more

My family loves Frida's Tacos. This is a low key place right on a main street in Yonkers - not very large but their food is always so tasty. We went back a dozen times (always packed) more prior to the virus closing and have ordered delivery several times since (without any long wait).
