We stopped here for lunch on our way through Newcastle. There was only one woman working and waiting on every table during the lunch hour. She was nice and did her best to keep our waters filled and tables cleared. The place is clean, which is something I always pay attention to. The chips were my favorite! Fresh, and served warm with a very tasty salsa. We asked for a refill of our chips and our waitress gladly brought them. We ordered a carne asada sope, pork tamale and a chili relleno. All were excellent! My husband would have liked to have cheese dip but didn't want to spend $7.99 on a larger bowl when he just wanted a small amount. It would be nice to have two sizes and maybe more of an expanded lunch menu beyond burritos only. We will definitely stop here again on our next trip through town. And I'll order a house margarita for $6.99! They are located directly across the street from Maverik convenience store. They also have a convenient drive through if you are on the go and don't have time to dine in. Enjoy! read more

Frida's is one of the best places in town, and the best place for tacos. This barrias tacos are out of this world - so good! Chicken quesadilla from the appetizer is huge and delicious. Frida's house nachos are yummy and so are the carne asada fries. Enchiladas would be better if they broiled them until crisp and melted. They have a drive up window for pickups of orders called in ahead. Call in orders are usually ready in 10-15 minutes. Friendly staff. read more

Very diverse menu. There is something for everyone as long as it is Mexican based. Generous portions of tasty food in a well apportioned restaurant. Service was quick and on point with none of the previous reviews problems. I don't get to Newcastle often but will eat here when I do. read more

While traveling through the area, we ended up getting gas across the street, I noticed this restaurant. I looked up reviews and saw were two 5 stars and one that ended with 'no Stars'. So upon reading the One star review, we decided to eat here! We found the food absolutely delicious. We started with chips and salsa, the salsa could definitely use a bit more flavor but hey, no big deal. The margaritas we got were delicious, totally worth it. We ordered Chilaquiles, it was served with green or red sauce and perfect eggs. We also got a Molcajete, it was honestly HUDGE! Listen I thought the Mexican food was excellent for Newcastle Wyoming. And to the bad review lady from above, next time you have a 12 top going to a little family owned business with very little seating, call ahead to be sure they can handle that volume. There was not a table in that restaurant set up to handle a 12 top! Be nice or cook at home. read more

We drove about 40 minutes to eat here based on the recommendation from an acquaintance and are so glad we did. The place is located on a building that was previously a fast food restaurant so the dining room is that kind of atmosphere. The new ownership has done a good job of trying to make it a warmer atmosphere but still has the fast food appearance. The food is what sets this place apart. The young lady who served us was so friendly and helpful with our questions. The tortillas were fresh and the salsa was excellent! My wife had the steak fajitas with fresh homemade corn tortillas and it was excellent. I had an enchilada and tamale and also the best I have eaten! We would both highly recommend stopping here if you are in the area or even close. I don't think you will be disappointed. They have 2 happy hours on Monday through Thursday. read more

We stopped here while staying in Newcastle on our way across the country. We weren't expecting to find good food since the town is pretty small but we were pleasantly surprised by this place! The food was very reasonably priced and delicious. I particularly enjoyed the sopes- I had the al pastor one. The tamale and fajita salad were also delicious.
